The E.R. is professional and friendly but the main problem is even if you're 2nd in line once someone else.comes.in you might keept.getting bumped.to the back of the line. My wife waited 4 hours just.to get seen even though she was.in pain and when we got there only 2.other people were there ahead of us. The nurses can't or won't give any information regarding status including one that says "it's an emergency room."....yes it is.....

BEWARE - DO NOT GO TO THIS HORRENDOUS HOSPITAL. Wo...

BEWARE - DO NOT GO TO THIS HORRENDOUS HOSPITAL. Worst ER experience of my life. I have been to many "third world countries" and the health care I received there was so much better than the dreadful health care I received at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua - how is this place allowed to lawfully operate? Will someone please audit / investigate this hospital. The staff was constantly swearing and complaining about all the patients. They were even laughing at and making fun of a younger man that was brought in for mental health issues. It is run like a prison with the "you are the prisoner we are the correctional officers in charge mentality". I never experienced such unprofessional behavior in any hospital setting I have been in. The intake person from ACCESS was a total joke - she was abrasive and rude from the start - someone in that position should have some compassion, some empathy - but she had none. How she has a job as the first line of mental health care for individuals in dire situations is appalling and dangerous. As I laid in the ER for hours and hours in the hallway I watched the unprofessional interactions between the doctors, nurses, security, and other staff. This place needs to be under investigation. I was so upset by what I witnessed that I asked to be discharged - but the smug nurse told me that only the ACCESS intake person can discharge me and it was decided that I had to wait until the morning to speak with the "psychiatric team" before being discharged - no exceptions. A few minutes later I asked the same smug nurse if I could see the doctor because my kidney stones were bothering me - I had mentioned that I had a very large stone in my left kidney. Within 30 minutes of asking to see the doctor about my kidney stone they discharged me - the doctor never saw me about my kidney stone pain / issue (they 100% ignored that) and suddenly I did not have to speak with the "psychiatric team" in the morning prior to being discharged. This can only be attributed to Medicaid discrimination - if I had better insurance I am sure the doctor would have taken a look at my kidney stone situation. I will file a complaint with Medicaid over this. Stay away from this awful hospital - I could see in the time I spent there that the negative and nasty environment is encouraged and is the norm. Shame on the doctors, nurses, security, and other staff working the shift before midnight on January 28, 2021 and after midnight on January 29, 2021. Please go to Portsmouth Hospital if you need medical attention whether it is physical or mental. At Portsmouth Hospital regardless of your situation or INSURANCE they treat you with respect, dignity, and compassion.

The facts I stated above about my negative experience at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, NH is a warning to others about the quality of care they will receive if they seek emergency medical help whether it be physical or mental at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, NH. The response to my review from the "owner" was the "canned" response I expected to get from such a dysfunctional institution as Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, NH. The facts I provided above are enough for Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, NH to investigate. I stated facts to warn others and want no part in trying to fix an institution that I believe cannot be fixed nor intends to take serious steps to resolving it's issues which are ingrained in the institutions culture. What I witnessed was due to years of inappropriate and dysfunctional behavior that was allowed and encouraged.

Going to the ER couldn t be a choice for you, but if it would be, please don t risk being in danger plus being not respected. A high possibility of you being yelled at and ignored for hours by nurses . Read the other reviews so you can get a full picture of I just talked about Good luck.

Worst hospital ever if I could give 0stars I would spent hours in the er with my son who was having an allergic reaction mosquito bites not one person came to check on him. It got to the point where we left go to somewhere else. If it s an emergency DO NOT TRUST SOUTHERN!!! This is not the only horrible experience I ve had there either when my daughter was 2 she broke her leg on the Trampoline we yet again spent hours in the er for them to send us home and say she was fine with no X-rays luckily we know our daughter was severely hurt and their was something serious going on with her we went to st Joe s they did an X-ray on her revealing her leg was BROKEN!!! I m not the type of person to complain but If I got to a hospital trusting this establishment with my CHILDS LIFE I expect to get a more Concerned, caring staff.

This USED to be a good hospital. I was triaged as urgent. 3 hours later, I'm still waiting. My symptoms are getting worse. But no one cares. Ended up waiting 4 1/2 hours. The waiting room staff is rude! I was told you "we are a trauma center. You need to wait. Really? You've had 2 (two) ambulances and 2 (two) ambulatory patients walk in. How does that equal the wait time???
Or excuse rudeness??? Fortunately the doctor and a couple of the nurses were fine.

If you need the ER and find yourself coming here.....

If you need the ER and find yourself coming here...don't. Trust me, you're much better off dying in your own home. Came here for chest pains, wasnt seen for an hour, then taken for xrays, wait an hour, take blood, wait an hour. No answers, everyone just sits in the void that is this terrible "Emergency" Room. Been here since 930am...its now 2pm and I still haven't gotten any sort of results. This hospital is awful.

Edit/Update...2:42, still here...

Go somewhere else, or die at home, but dont do it here.

In the some 40 years that I've lived in Nashua, family members as well as myself have always been treated exceptionally well. The level of medical care is excellent and the nursing staff have always shown us professionalism and kindness. I just emerged from a two day stay and I am grateful to everyone that helped me through a tough time. Awesome people. Much thanks to all.
