After getting an oil change my wife was informed we would need tires and brakes in order to get an inspection sticker for our vehicle. She was told it would cost near $2500. I called the service manager who reviewed the file and provided me a written quote of $1750. Via email I asked several times if he was certain about this price because it was much different from the $2500 verbal quote given to my wife. He said he was. We scheduled the service. When the vehicle was being serviced we were called and told the amount was in excess of $2500 (in their defense they found another issue). However, when I mentioned I was quoted $1750 by the service manager, they lowered the bill to $2100. This is over $300 higher than quoted.

All this to say I was very disappointed the quote provided was not the amount billed. Paying $2K for anything is painful. I wish they charged what they said they would.

That said, they are nice people and they do provide good service. I would rank them 4 or 5 stars. This experience though gets 2 stars. Very disappointed in their inability to bill what they quote. Beware.

Smooth dealer swap,curtious staff,fast on the paper work made a quick turn around for me, and helpful in locating a gas station so I could refuel for the trip home. I have been going to Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge and Jeep for three years. Today is the last day I will ever use there service department. The first year we had an incident getting tires put on my 2008 Jeep. They told us it would be a two hours for the tires to be put on, along with oil change and tire rotation. Four hours later the jeep is completed and were given a different price then quoted in the beginning. Not only did I wait an extra 2 hrs I was also, being charged more. I asked to speak to a manger and conveniently not available. I allowed this to slide and continued to conduct my business here. During my second year of service a different customer service agent persuaded me to by there oil change package in which you pay a lump sum for 3 oil changes up front for a discounted price. I took them up on that offer. The next time I came in I had a boughten a new vehicle as after that last appointment this same customer service agent recommend I trade my vehicle in. Come to find out the oil change package won't transfer to another vehicle that you own! Even though it sounds great, I again wasted money. Last straw was today. The past two times I do not recall the customer service individual names but today the gentlemen I dealt with was a man named Kurt. When walked in the door demanded I give him my keys, did not ask if I had an appointment or if I knew the information he wanted. He told me that I was not in the system without looking into the computer. I said I do not appreciate being treated like an idiot I have been here numerous times and I am in your system I have the mileage and any other questions you may have. He stated he need my keys to hook up my vehicle. I then said I have never heard that before and what is your process here because every time I come get I a different answer. The next thing he did was go onto the computer and magically everything he needed was there. He was rude and curt. There was also several other customer service agents standing by who were not willing to jump in and help. I have had this experience every time I have come to your place of business. What makes this even worse I was never offered to speak with a manger and I wrote this complaint in there customer waiting room. I advise anyone looking for good customer service to not go here as they appear never to go the extra mile or insure customers are satisfied.

I would like to say a special thank you to the Service writer who went out of his way and took time away from snow plowing to help me out very early Wednesday morning. He took the time to clear off a vehicle for me to use and then wrote up the service on my vehicle that was needed even though the dearlershipnwas closed. The service department took care of the issues with my vehicle and was considerate enough to call me and let me know what the issues were. Thank you very much to everyone involved.

My 2002 Ram and I are very happy with Southern Maine Motors. I have recently made appointments to have two minor repair issues taken care of (replace a universal joint and replace a front headlight). The appointment was for 8:00 AM. I got there at 8:05 and before I could get out of my truck; a man met me and took my truck around to the service bay. Next in line was my Service Advisor, Rick Strout, who worked with me to make out the work order. He was very thorough and accurate with information for the mechanic to do the repairs that I wanted.

In short..... I was given the attention, respect and service of such high quality that I would not hesitate to be a return customer. My Ram has been a good friend to me for the past 11 years but needs good quality service from time to time.

SMCDJ was extremely accommodating and helpful. Tom and Gayle were particularly helpful. I knew the exact vehicle I wanted but live in MA. I wasn't going to be able to the dealership for a week or so. We were able to get most of the paperwork prepared and ready to sign via phone. They delivered the vehicle to my house and took care of the remaining paperwork. It was a pleasure doing business with them.

I went here a while back determined to buy a wrangler after doing my research. The team was very friendly and attentive: if i was reviewing the front desk or sales team, this would be a 5 star review. The issue came with price. When it came up I was quoted MSRP+DELIVERY FEE+DOC FEE. I though ok, I'm going to have to haggle. I brought up average price paid in the area for the same vehicle, truecar quotes, etc. I wanted to give my business to the local Jeep dealer, but I didn't want to pay thousands above the market price. I was told there was no flexibility on price. I asked to speak to a manager, and that policy came from management.

If you are price conscious, like most consumers, I would not bother here. You will pay thousands above market price.

On Thursday August 10th my wife and I had the privilege of meeting Tammy Sutherland. She was friendly, kind and patient to show us any (and all) vehicles that we cared to see. She was well informed and insightful on the various vehicles that we inquired about. Mind you it was after 6:00pm! After inquiring about a specific Jeep Grand Cherokee we sat down and spoke about our budget and expectations and next steps. We committed on returning on Saturday August 12th so that our car could be appraised.

On Friday August 11th Tammy called me as she had promised to discuss the vehicle we had test driven. During the conversation I indicated that we had also noticed another Grand Cherokee online from their inventory which may better fit our budget. She inquired if we would like to test drive this new vehicle and proceeded to discuss its features and affordability. We agreed to meet early on Saturday morning.

As planned on Saturday morning I arrived at Southern Maine Motors and Tammy met me outside. Also waiting for me was the Grand Cherokee that we had inquired about ready to be taken for a test drive. Tammy allowed me to test drive the vehicle and had my trade-in appraised in the mean time.

Shortly after returning I explained to Tammy that this was the vehicle that we wished to purchase. She was well organized and quickly proceeded to review with me all the information required for the purchase of the vehicle. The process in total was very easy, painless and quick. I have had experiences in the past where this was not the case. Super efficient!

Both my wife and I cannot say enough good things about our Salesperson Tammy or our experience in purchasing our new 2017 Grand Cherokee. Tammy's demeanor, follow through and organization made us instant fans of hers! If you are in the market for a Jeep we cannot recommend her or Southern Maine Motors enough.

Price of an oil change nearly doubled since Prime acquired this dealership. That shouldn't ever happen. With no apology or mention of price increase until after the service was completed as well. Wont be going back here for anything. Also took 3 hours for an oil change.

I crossed the Maine border and instantly blew my water pump on my 07 Jeep. An hour and a half from home on the side of the highway in -8 degrees... THIS team got me connected with a tow company, had the part waiting and got my jeep done WITH a recall part as well in less than an hour and a half.

The kicker was they not only knew I had to be back in NH to pick up my kids but made sure I was able to get there in time. SUPER stress free, great team, great communication, fast turnaround, gotta give it up to the Mechanic team too, without them I am sure the turnaround would not have been possible. Oh, and they have popcorn, coffee and a nice sitting area...

I had my 2003 Dodge Truck serviced there. I had some significant brake work done and a few other thing done. They had my truck for 2 weeks, never offered me a loaner car. I was quoted a price at the beginning of almost 3k for everything. When they called to say it was ready the bill for almost $3400.00, the service person explained that I needed this part so they just added it on without informing until after the fact. I needed an inspection done, so when I got there to pick up the truck there was no inspection sticker. They told me they couldn't inspect it because the registration had run out (my fault), but I would have thought during they 2 weeks they had it they could of let me know so I could get it registered. Instead I had to go from the dealership back to my house, get my checkbook go to City Hall to register the car and return to the dealership so I could get the sticker. I have been at this dealership for many years and never had a problem before, I certainly hope this is an isolated incident, because I own a Dodge Truck and a Chrysler 300 and they are the only Chrysler/Dodge dealership in my area. If it continues I will have to factor this into my decision when I purchase a new car. All in all it was a very long, frustrating, expensive and arduous experience! Far from satisfied!

A while ago I wrote a very nice review about a Southern Maine Motors employee going above and beyond to help my wife who had run out of gas near the dealership. We weren't even customers at the time! I had always kept that in mind, and stopped there first when it was time to buy our next vehicle. Unfortunately, those nice people are no longer there, replaced by sleezy types who have no idea how to treat people. In a matter of a few minutes we were insulted, humiliated, and actually yelled at, just for questioning how they could have an offer on their website AND the front sign, and not be able to show us a single vehicle on the lot that qualified! Total shysters! Do yourself a favor and don't go there.

What does moving have to do with Southern Maine Jeep? Everything! I just moved locally from OOB to Saco, and in the middle of my move, my trustworthy Jeep Grand Cherokee broke down. Curt Mathisen at Southern Maine Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep was awesome. He put my truck at the front of the line. Had it repaired within the hour -- and I had some major engine trouble, so this was most impressive. I was back on my way to continue moving our house. Very reasonable price. I cannot say enough about this team. They are professional, honest, very skilled (my truck drives better after each year they service it -- like a well-aged leather jacket ages so impeccably...). Stopped by to get an alignment and have a couple other things looked at. Service secretary (long curly hair with shaved sides) asked if I was waiting or dropping off. I asked how long it would take to address the things I was in for and said I had a lunch date with the missus. He said it could be an hour or two. I asked about a loaner and was told they were only available for customers who have a 2+ hour wait.

Jack Dowd listened to what I needed in a vehicle and was so helpful I can only think positive thoughts about.him. He knows his product and how to sell it. the service department lies to you. said over $2,000.00 of repairs was needed to get an inspection sticker on a jeep. took the "supposed" list to 3 other places. everything they said was wrong was fine. how can a business get away with this? they outright lied. they need to be investigated. like take a 10 year old car deemed in perfect order for state inspection, take it there for an inspection and see how many things they claim will not pass on it. i would not get my tire pressure checked there. they will say you need a new transmission. total crooks.

Service department seems unable to diagnose issues. Often claim no problem found. I was charged for warranty work when reporting a rattle because there was a flashlight in my truck so that must be it. I brought it back in a few months later and told them what I thought it was and where to look. Low and behold they were then able to resolve it. This is one small example of their poor service. I have had several poor experiences with service here.

Had service writer hang up on me and general manager told me he would look into problem and call me back and never did. In the end I gave up and went off Cape and bought a new truck and will never go back to these people I highly recommend not taking your vehicle to Prime Dodge

I had an appointment for an oil change, front end alignment and inspection sticker. Appointment was on a Saturday that took approximately 2 hours - seemed a little long to me. The person I dealt with was very nice and offered me the discounted oil change package which I did not realize was still available - am thankful for that. Waiting room is very comfortable and free coffee, water and popcorn is available. All in all I am pleased with the service.

Went to Southern Maine on our way to another dealership. We never made it to the other dealer. MIKE was fantastic to deal with. Never felt pressured to buy the vehicle. Just extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Honestly the worst part of buying a vehicle can be dealing with a pushy sales department. Not the case here. Can't say it enough. Had a terrific experience. Not to mention the deal we got. Too good to go anywhere else. I was pretty loyal to my other dealership. Think that's changed. Can't thank Mike Kry enough for the great time and the awesome new ride.

I bought a 2019 Ram last fall. I noticed the rims were badly stained when I took it for the first wash. I have been trying to get them to contact me about fixing them ever since. Not only have the rims not been fixed, I have been completely ignored at every turn, not one email or phone call returned.

When you go to the service department they brush you off. They will tell you that they will call you back, but you won t ever receive a follow up call. They have the worst staff and customer service that you will ever find. Once you purchase your vehicle they will completely ignore any complaints you have. Do yourself a favor. Find a different dealership.

Wow I bought two cars from her in a months time. My first vehicle unfortunately was totaled. I did not hesitate to go back and now I'm driving a Cherokee and very happy. She answered my question and showed me my new vehicle. inside and out. She even called me to make sure I'm ok after my accident. Honestly it was like I've known her for years. Great person and wonderful service. The financial person was nice too, and answered my questions. Tammy even scheduled and intruced me to the service department. Now if the Service Department is like my experience so far then I would definitely do business again.

We purchased a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Sales & Product Specialist Michael Kry is, by far, the most informed and knowledgeable car salesperson we have ever met! Mike has obviously taken the time to fully know Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram products! Mike is also a wiz at navigating those complex screen-based information centers, and made sure we were comfortable with ours before we drove off the lot. Business Manager Gayle Martin is outstanding at finding the best financing available - our friends are astounded when they hear how low our interest rate is!

Terrible customer service. Was in the market to purchase a jeep and they kept me waiting for over 45 mins. Ended up buying a Jeep elsewhere but bring it here for service and once again, horrible customer service. If you're looking to purchase, new or used, you're going to pay thousands less at a different dealer. We purchased a new Jeep for less that a 2 year old Jeep at this place and it was apples to apples.

It was refreshing to see a dealer following the process correctly. These guys are fantastic. If you are looking for a dealer that will go above and beyond here you go. From the salesman to sales manager you can t get better! I made the drive from Boston and purchased 3 new vehicles for myself and wife. Wouldn t hesitate to do it again.

My 2004 Jeep barely made it to the dealership. I came in on a Saturday. Not only did they have exactly what I was looking for in stock, they secured the financing at a rate I was extremely happy with. Since it was a Saturday, I was planning on picking it up on Monday, as there was no way to get the insurance changed on the weekend. They took care of that also, by giving me a dealer plate to last me until Monday when I could get it taken care of. There is nothing like the great feeling of going in just to look at the options, and leaving with a brand new vehicle, exactly what you are looking for, at a great price, with great financing.

I highly recommend them. They went above and beyond with their customer service.

Great service on my 2005 Dodge Dakota pickup. The brakes have never been replaced. I told them to check my pads. I was expecting to have to replace everything. My wife bought her Jeep Renegade new from this dealership in 2018. This year (2020) the AC stopped functioning. Unfortunately the car was just over the 36,000 miles for the warranty (still well under the 3 years however). She brought the car in to be looked at and asked if they could work with her given it was just outside of warranty and really shouldn't be having problems with the AC after only 2 years of ownership. They indicated they could do 10% off. Fair enough.
Estimate came back at over a thousand dollars. When pressed, she found out they added a tire rotation and alignment to the service ticket even though this was not requested. Once they took this off the price was still $1200, WITH the 10% discount. When asked what the issue was it was indicated the thermal expansion valve was shot. And they were ordering the part for Friday. She left her car there but they never called back. She called back on Saturday and they indicated they would not have the part until several days later (thanks for the follow-up...) but she could pick up the vehicle or rent a car from them at $35 dollars a day.
At this point she just opted to pick up he vehicle. After bringing it to another local Jeep dealership she was given a quote of $600 for the diagnostics, parts, labor and recharge.
Avoid this dealership for service - they are not customer focused and they WILL try to rip you off if you aren't paying attention.

My 2015 ram has corrosion in both wheel wells and it has been deemed to NOT be a manufactured defect. Chrysler called and told me that it is not covered under my 5 year 100000 mile corrosion warranty. The truck.is under 5 years with 73000 miles on it. Chrysler said today 6/22/2020.that the dealership stated that it is not a defect. The dealership tells me that Chrysler is declining the repair. Five year old 50000 dollar pickup with rot on it. Someone is lying and avoiding fixing the problem. I will not, this fall purchase another dodge or purchase from Prime unles the issue is recognized as significant and dealt with. Very sad day for a dedicated dodge owner..

I love my car and the employees seem nice whenever I visit, but it consistently takes them about 2 hours to do an oil change with an appointment while I wait there, and they do not always have loaner cars available.

Jack is fantastic! Just bought my new Renegade. I actually came to SMCDJ because of how wonderful he was when we bought my husband's Ram in June.
