We stayed here for 4 nights while in Christchurch for a sports tournament. The room was clean and warm and we weren't bothered by any traffic noise - you could hear sirens around but you expect that in a city. We had everything we needed and would happily stay here again with our family.
Very clean, great facilities for the low price. Glad to have heaters in the rooms too!
Stayed here on friday night passed. Wifi didnt work, the sky tv didnt work very very noisy as we were near the main road.And to add to it me and my partner who is 6ft 2 had to sleep on a single bed in the livingroom with a very loud rattling fridge after been bit numerous times by what we could only describe as bed bugs. Awful experience. Do not stay here.
My husband and I find this motel very comfortable. The staff are accommodating and friendly, this is the second time we have stayed here and have already booked in again in a couple of weeks time
This motel is also central to are needs when we come to Christchurch
The only positive thing I can say was the price point of the accommodation. Cheapest isn't always best. There was mold in the bathroom and there was rubbish in our room.
Because the CP value is very high, don't expect too much, but it's quite clean.
No pool. Very noisy. Clean and tidy inside units, very run down outside.
A really comfortable place to stay. Everything you need, close to everywhere you need to go. Love the shower pressure.
Amazing value. Clean tidy modern quiet non smoking. Larger than some standard rooms we've seen and we stayed in the budget studio. They even give you slippers and toothbrushes. Loved it.

Great value for money, with a comfortable bed, nice amenities, and nice touches: slippers and toothbrush sets (with toothpaste) to take away. Some rooms close to Bealey Ave may be noisy (traffic).

The best motel during our trip to New Zealand! Very well located near the Botanical Garden. The accommodation is large, very well arranged, separate bedroom, full kitchen. We really appreciated the complementary touches like toothbrushes, slippers, milk ... Etc and the kindness with which we were received.
They were totally rude, didn't have my room ready when I got there at arrival time, and then when I complained they told me to pay a $100 bond.
Accidentally broke a small plate,were charged $5.00,to replace,offered to replace it ourselves,but the owners would not let us do that the ,outside stairs were a bit scary at night ,with no decent lighting

Had a confirmed booking with Southern comfort motel for two night from tonight. Traveled from nelson with my family. When I went to check in the manager was very rude and unwelcoming because I had booked with a debit card not a credit card. I didn't see the problem and tryed to pay for the room. The manager then refused my payment and told me my booking had been cancelled and to leave. Absolutely horrible woman. I would advise anyone to stay away. After seeing the place for myself I'm really glad we didn't stay there.
Nice and quiet even though on a busy road. Obviously been recently renovated and they are very smart. Separate bathroom and bedroom from lounge and kitchen
Not bad . Bathroom , don't know what's going on with the toilet it seems to almost in the middle of the room .
One of the bed hasn't been made for the last two days now . Very noisy by the pool as a restaurant at the back banging while putting rubbish out and also talking loudly .
Very clean and comfortable place to stay, has a small kichen, living room and a balcony as well. The item is very complete, has almost everything you need. Also don't have to worry about parking, the middle area has quite large ground for your car.
I liked the staff and the comfortable bed. The shower knob was a bit awkward, but not a huge complaint. Kitchen was fantastic. The wifi was great, but kept on dropping out from time to time. When the cleaners came in to clean, my bed wasn t arranged, but my cousins bed was (in the same room). That is what I call ignorance

Stayed at this motel for 3 nights. Great location & easy walk to the city. Room was really clean when we arrived. Spa bath was amazing & shower pressure in bathroom great. A little disappointed at the noise however. Not too bad from the street but the outdoor spa was outside our room & left on all night. It was super loud. The pillows on the bed were also awful so we didn't sleep very well. We also only had half a roll of toilet paper in our room with no spares so had to use tissues until the cleaner came the next afternoon. And our rubbish bin wasn't emptied the whole time we were there. The only other thing we noticed was the sign on the wall saying you weren't allowed to cook very aromatic foods in the kitchen....but the extraction fan above the stove top wasn't vented outside....it only went back into the room itself so I'm not sure how you're supposed to avoid cooking smells! Overall not a bad motel for the price & nothing major wrong, just a few wee things that when added up make a difference! Also the swimming pool as advertised wasn't full - it was empty & full of dirt/leaves etc.
We arranged a late check in, (9.30) they left our key in a box with the room number, and when we went to our room we realizes that they double book it. We have to phone them 5 times to get a response and finally they send us to an other motel. No any compensation for their mistake. Really disappointed service.
I have stayed here twice. The first time was to close to the road a quite noisy but very good unit. The second time was a little further back and great. Friendly helpful staff and great rates. Short walk to bars and cafes.

Stayed here for electric avenue with a few friends, the staff are super friendly and kind, water pressure in the shower is amazing and rooms have alot of space ! We dont have a credit card and had to pay a $100 bond which was no problem and was returned to us quickly after check out 10/10 would highly recommend !
The place was great and value for money! Bigger space,clean and parking is for free.City center is just a 5-10 mins.walk...We really had an awesome & comfy stay with the best welcome rainbow view on the day we arrived!

Location was standard for any motel, and easily accessible. When entering the room, although it initially looked quite nice through the TV and room furnishings, it was noted that the carpets and couches were filthy, to the point where we didn't want to walk around without shoes on. Some spots of the floor had visible stain marks and were sticky to the touch.
Not easy to find because quite fast from center. Next supermarket about 20 minutes to walk. WiFi is a bit slow but acceptable. Rooms along the road are quite noisy ...
Nice hotel and location. The interiors and bathrooms were good. The only problem was that the Wi-Fi was incredibly slow and lagged a lot.

A lovely motel within walking distance of the center of Kreisecherz is the fifth star he received for the cheap price and the Thai restaurant which is only a few minutes' walk away. A shabby location in the rainy day when we arrived in the city
Great place. Everything available including the use of a pool and spa pool. Even have your own private courtyard in some rooms. Recommend to anyone.

Southern Comfort Motel was honestly the best motel I have been to while traveling New Zealand! The staff are extremely polite, there is a good sized pool to cool off in and where do I even start with the rooms?? The beds are extremely comfortable, there are 50+ channels in the TV , and the Wi-Fi is pretty good too!! I would definitely recommend this motel to travellers who are planning to stay in Christchurch!!!!

Friendly staff and adequate rooms but could do with more maintenence as fan ducting configuration in kitchen was visible above cupboards and was held together with black tape, also the carpet and tiles had a big between them which was filled by duct tape.
Room are fine. No milk n soap. Asked the host. Was told to come n get it coz his very busy. Not a great attitude for his business. Customer service is first and other work later. Not a highly recommended motel n not worth to have even 1 star.
Third stay here and as always great service and comfortable room at great value

Never in my life have i come across a manager so rude & racist! After refusing to listen to us after my mother had been locked out of her room, he proceeded to swear, get right up in my face and KICK my car door! Two of his staff members had to come and pull him away from me and tell him to calm down (in a 5.5) little white nurse & he is i 6ft plus Asian with a terrible attitude. In the end i was in tears & shaking. Never have i been treated so badly for asking to be let it to my room! I was absolutely shocked anyone would treat another person let alone a lady this way! No apology for kicking my car door or the way i was treated. Hes dangerous & people like this should not be allowed to run businesses & treat others like this. :'(
Although it is not in the center, it is a place with good comforts, more if they go with family like us. Our house had to be, 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen and above all, very comfortable beds!
Newly redecorated, furniture not yet upgraded, looking forward to seeing the new set up once completed. Always warmly welcomed and accommodating thank you. Definately recommend.

Price very well for the comfort that it provides a bit dated and a few blemishes on the walls the heater worked well to heat the unit. Don't book this place if you expect the Ritz also the free Wi-Fi is not reliable at all almost non existent. Make sure you have your own data.

Extremely dated and tired looking, shower leaked bad out on to the floor, swimming pool was empty with brown yuk in bottom.
Very good, comfortable, practical apartment with good bedding.
