The hostel was clean and well-run. All the staff were helpful and friendly. I really loved the convenient location. It was just down the street from the downtown city hall tram station, so I was able to easily get everywhere I needed to. The hostel had a great amount of room. Was not cramped. It also felt secure. I would absolutely recommend it.

I didn't stay here to make it clear but my boyfriend does and just wanted to give you some warnings when booking. He likes to stay here. He booked online and it double booked. They did not refund or at least give a credit to stay there next time. He was stuck on the bus for what was supposed to be 8 hrs which turned into 18 due to the roads/accidents. He was set to arrive there at 11pm but didn't show until 7 am the next morning where he found out he was charged 50 dollars(no show) and 2 rooms(only booked 1). They we're nice and refunded the 50 bucks but would not refund the double booking or give credit for his stay next time as he is there weekly..he likes it there. He also still had to leave at the 11 am check out time. So he got 3 hours rest for twice the price and was so tired after the terrible bus ride he didn't eat breaky. Be aware. Merry Xmas.

Nah so straight up this place is rad. I booked for a few nights, on check in I was handed a freshly minted US$100 dollar bill, proceeded through the lobby to find beautiful naked women begging to give me a massage. Or dudes, whatever's your thing.. There's an Olympic sized swimming pool complete with diving boards and sauna, free T-Rex rides all through Calgary, you can go on a float through their entirely private and enclosed lazy river.. Eat free from any of their hundreds of private dining facilities which are staffed and operated solely by Gordon Ramsay, who cooks at your table in the nude whilst swearing at you.
While maybe a lot of this may not be strictly speaking the "truth" it is a pretty sweet hostel. Clean rooms, big kitchen, back yard and roof top deck. If you're coming to Calgary and don't stay here in gonna find you and bad mouth you to all your mates behind your back. Then you'll be a loner living in a sub par hotel while all your friends are living it up at HI Calgary. Are you prepared to deal with that? I thought not.

It's a very cheap place to put up for the night or stay a couple of days, but you have to be willing to share a room with 6 people you don't know (for 6 bed rooms) and use communal bathrooms outside the room.

24 hours front desk, breakfast (bread, cereal, eggs, fruit and yogurt are not included) Kitchen Large two large refrigerators and two dryers each for washing and drying (several floors on the first floor, large and clean. $ 1.00) / Bathrooms and toilets Shower rooms are not clean. (The room is a wooden bed with a smell of wood and a smell of burden.) / Good for c-tram free section. Close to city hall station. It's a bit out of downtown so it gets dark and security is not good. (I do not think it's dangerous around real boogie but it's getting darker, so I think there are more people who are homeless or strangers.) It is a good idea to get home early for safety. Parking is free. Check out and leave your luggage. There are free bbq events on weekdays and evenings. Staff friendly.

I had an amazing time here, the staff was incredibly friendly and helped us out to find and see the perfect spots in and around the city. The beds and dorms are perfect, enough space and good soft beds. They even have a pool table and free computers in the basement. If there is any problem, they will fix it right away for you. I advice everyone to go here

The facility overall seemed really nice, however, our room had food waste from previous guests sitting under the bed, and the mattress was very worn with two deep dents which were uncomfortable and impossible to avoid when trying to sleep. Staff at the front desk didn't seem appropriately concerned with this when we informed them about these issues.

Buyer beware here based on my own opinions only. Area questionable with homeless people and drug users following you when you walk a block to the train. I cannot begin to fathom why any superior who takes advantage of power by sleeping with subordinates is still praised. Before you go here check out your other options to avoid being charged unnecessarily constantly harassed to post good reviews and sleeping in rooms that smell. i mean SMELL. This is not a backpacker's hostel; it's filled with canadian workers. I will never return to this location.

~ Note: Whomever, can add me I would be happy to speak of my PERSONAL experience. You will find this is not "unfounded" ~
