Very clean and friendly! Located down town Calgary! Was very easy to get around. Some major stores are in walking distance too!

i travelled to alot of cities in canada europe and asia...bye far the Hi calagary really is one of the best if not the best hosteling experience ive ever had. amazing free breakfast.newly renovated very clean and safe, i would literaly leave my lptop anywhere come back and its there,room are clean, and the staf is just amazing very helpfull ppl, great location downtown 2 minutes from the ctrain and the buildings around are just fabulous....very recomneded

I couldn't get to Calgary due to my bad condition today(Unexpected allergy attacks me!!) and had to canel reservation. And the staff said I'm gonna be charged $36 same as room charge for one night I'm going to pay if I go to here today by their policy. I guessed I'm gonna be charged some becasue I called on the day I booked.
I feel really really bad and won't reserve here anymore to prevent wasting my money.

Hi Calgary Hostel is a really nice place to stay. Actually one of the best places I have stayed in Canada.

Its very special for me as I have spend my first 21 days here at this beautiful place, searching for Job and condos...I have made many friends here...

The staff is awesome and really friendly and helpful. The kitchen is always clean and good equipped. The rooms are really nice and clean. They also have a gorgeous backyard with barbecue for chilling.

New hostel in a central location. Rooms are a bit cramped with not many power points, and showers and bathrooms could be better.

Like other Canadian hostels. They have good accessibility to other places and downtown, and clean....but, one issue is cooling system in a room, too much hot.

I had a good time 3 weeks ago I would only suggest to move the private rooms to the ground or top floor that's all , let's see tomorrow night how it goes

Perfectly lovely Hi hostel! Staff are fab! And this is coming from a hosteller that doesn't really engage in hostel activities, not for any reason other than I get nervous.
Useful location, no bad comments come to mind

Exemplary clientele: smiling, warm, helps us when we have questions, offers to change our sheets when we sleep for several nights, etc.

Lodging at HiCalgary is a must for budget travellers. The location is minutes from the memorial walking path, C-train station and central downtown amenities. I paid $40. a night and bunked with 5 women in the same room. I came and went at my own leisure, residence and other travellers were all respectful of eachothers privacy and space and some had great stories to share, HiCalgary also serves a continental breakfast and offers hot showers. I was plesantly surprised with this hidden gem of a hostle.

Great location in relation to downtown. Very close to Scotiabank Saddledome. Reasonably price. Breakfast offerings were plentiful, though I wish there were milk alternatives. The rooms were hot, had to ask front desk to turn it down. Staff is friendly. Showers/bathrooms clean. Security is good.

Clean, quiet. Accessible. has a great free breakfast. Best i have ever seen. Comparible to a 3 star hotels free breakfast.
Parking is 8 dollars per 24 hour period. Required credit card booking through indigogo. Or park for free on the street 6pm to 9 am. This hostel is not as social as hostels I have stayed in terms of finding buddies for activities.

Hi hostel is a nice and safe place to stay if you are traveling to Canada either for fun or work or visa related tasks and would not mind sleeping on a bunk bed in a shared room. In addition, it is comparatively cheap too! Just for information, I am an Indian female and I traveled alone to Canada from USA for student visa stamping. My stay was from 2 Dec '12 till 9 Dec '12 , and I enjoyed my every single moment at the hostel.

Jason is managing this place really well. I appreciate the efforts he made to clear my confusion regarding hostel charges at end of my visit. Also, Abida aunty and ex-marine uncle, have kept this place too tidy to be true. Aunty works here as a house-keeper and uncle is volunteering; both have great tips to offer to make your stay more safe and more comfortable. The place is very hygienic and Wi-Fi is good too (you can also access it from your room) though it gets slow in the evening but it still works well in the common areas. The free breakfast is awesome and kitchen is well equipped with utensils. People usually cook their meals and store the leftovers in fridge for later use (P.S. Cooking oil is available throughout the day). Don't forget to wash used utensils.

Overall, I had a wonderful stay! Maybe I was lucky to have great roommates in room # 105 or maybe it was just me :) It was my first time in hostel setting but now I look forward for more. I strongly recommend to give it a try.

Perfect location for inexpensive overnight stay in downtown #Calgary

Very clean and well staffed. Great location. I stayed in a 6 bed dorm and the lockers were very large and beds comfortable.

Newly built, modern, clean, cozy, cheap. Usually not crowded. Other than summer season you are likely to get an empty dorm room without other hostel guests.

Clean beds and bathroom. Helpful staff. Next to rails so it can be noisy at night.

I stayed here after moving to Calgary before finding my own place. Even though it is more recently decorated and looks nice, I wouldn't recommend staying here. There are limited power outlets in the rooms and non beside top bunks. The rooms are spacious, but draughty. You share one bathroom with everyone of the same sex (2 showers, 2 toilets and 2 sinks). Cleaners of either sex walk into the bathrooms unannounced, regardless if you're showering. The other staff are unfriendly and unhelpful. When I stayed there, I was constantly being annoyed by other guests laughing and talking loudly in the quiet room, or it was one of the elderly people that LIVED there! One had a walking aid and an oxygen tank. I would recommend Wicked Hostels in the city.

Nice place and well situated close to City center. You get value for your money and the place is economical. Friendly staff and are always there to answer your questions if you have any. Also includes free WiFi and complementary breakfast. Rooms are neat!

Awesome hostel! The staff is the best, they are very friendly and helpful. Everything is clean, good beds and nice showers. They even serve breakfast! A pool table and free computers lift this hostel to a higher level. Special thanks to Jason for making our stay even better! I'd definitely recommend this great hostel to anyone!

Only stayed here one night... Clean and beds are comfy. Not many sockets to plug stuff in. But plenty of places to sit and good location to public transport. Would stay here again...

Only stayed the night but the hostel was great. Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, lots of amenities, and plenty of things to keep you busy. The location is great as well, putting you within walking distance to pretty much everything downtown.

I would definitely stay here again, hopefully longer so I might get to enjoy it more.

I was always skeptical about hostels but being here has been nothing short of a warming and welcoming experience. The staff is amazing, friendly and very helpful. The hostel is very clean, great vibe and has everything you need. It's also in a perfect, convenient location. I would have to say this is hands down one of the best hostels out there. Come see for yourself.. I guarantee you will be impressed.

It's not a bad hostel to sleep in. Helpful staff. Breakfast included which is also not exaggerated, but if you are planning a longer stay I would recommend something else. But it is certainly not a bad thing for a group of friends who book the whole room for themselves or then to meet new people :)

People were so nice there. They replied very kindly when I asked for something. Free breakfast, Good location for traveling, Clean facilities are some other virtues of this hosel. Highly recommended!!

If you're looking for an affordable accommodation while in Calgary, I recommend this hostel. Well worth the price you pay for. This is centrally situated in the city, walking distance to many restaurants, historcal site, and the walking trail by river. Service provided by staff is excellent. However, you'll likely need ear plugs when sleeping because of the wooden construction of the building. Other than that, I'll definitely consider this accommodation on my next stay in Calgary.

Very good place to stay, either because you want to go to explore the city or you just driving by, an a reservation will work better if you are trying to stay there, enjoy your stay guy's.

Disgusting rooms. There was snot on the bunk. Stinks. Really stinks. Exterior is unfinished. Desk staff was so raunchy she picked food out of her teeth with her tongue. Check your options like sleeping in the terminal your car etc

Friendly stuff to helps with any question that you have. During mm y time I stay there you can meet a lot of new persons from all over the world. The next train station is a 5 minutes walk away. I am very happy with this hostel because for this service (free wifi, breakfast etc.) is it cheapest once in Calgary.

Extremely friendly staff. Rooms are clean and everything has been renovated recently. The atmosphere is really nice and we get to meet new people every day. Its on 7th avenue in calgary near downtown and close to a lot of services.

We had a 6 person dorm and it was very clean and quiet. The shared bathrooms and kitchen spaces we're also very clean and organized. The parking lot has some sever craters that could wreck a small car if hit wrong, but there was plenty of stalls on a busy weekend.

I visited 3 years ago. Staff were helpful and I was satisfied with the cleanliness of the shared washroom/showers, hostel rooms, and eating area. There are cabinets in the rooms (bring a lock) to store your items. I can't remember but i do think a full sized suitcase fits in the cabinet. The hostel also offers lockers in the basement where you can store your suitcase and everything if you've already checked out and don't want to carry your things around.

Have brought workers here when they first arrive in Calgary. Very affordable prices and a clean facility. Great staff and a great location. Will continue to use them!

Very good location, very close to downtown and very good communications by public transport. 24 hours attention at reception. As inconvenient, the bathroom is outside the rooms, and the breakfast (taking into account that it is free) is somewhat lacking. For the all very good.

I have spent 3 weeks here with 2 more to go and looking forward to it! Staff are all fantastic! I have nothing bad to say. It's clean and quiet. I highly recommend hi Calgary.
