Best nasi lemak I ve had. Higher quality ingredients than the stalls at Adam Road. More expensive - 12 dollars for the set.
Best nasi lemak I ve had. Higher quality ingredients than the stalls at Adam Road. More expensive - 12 dollars for the set.
Atas nasi lemak that is truly tasty and good and generous. :) but it is a little on the pricey side, but I would give it for the ambience, service and the place itself. Punggol nasi lemak is still hands down better and much cheaper too. Nice place to bring your overseas friends to:)
If you were to Google @thecoconutclubsg , you may notice it is one of the top rated places in #Singapore
The waiting time for 3 pax yesterday at around 8 plus was close to 20 mins. The management and attitude of their staffs were great! Customers queuing for their Nasi Lemak(NL) were given free wine while waiting for their turn to be called.
Unlike most of the NL stalls that serve wet and lumpy rice, their coconut flavoured rice are so fragrance and . Each plate of NL($12.80) comes with a full chicken leg, an egg, sliced cucumbers, ikan bilis and their homemade sambal chilli. The chicken leg is so tender and well marinated. I have realised that the cooking method for chicken leg may be a bit different from the one I normally had. No batter before frying but I think it was fried with mashed lemongrass (my guess). It feels so much like home cooked chicken leg. Really.
Not forgetting their chendol(S$5.00), Otah(S$10.50) and Sambal Sotong(S$13.80), it is also a must order!
In short, I guess the NL is highly recommended but maybe the price is a bit pricey. Will I go back again? Maybe once awhile.

Hands down the best nasi lemak I've had in Singapore!
The nasi lemak rice is very good and its free flow. The chicken portion is nice and generous. The sambal is spicy as heck but very tasty. The chendol is pricey but the smoothness of the coconut milk is a cut above the rest
Service is good and ambience is restaurant level but food average. Chicken was dry and spicy...more ayam penyet style with almost burnt coconut and skin but meat still slightly red. Ikan bilis and rice normal standard. Otah tasted bland...too much flour? And sambal sotong spicy and bit chewy. Guess for me, the top hawker nasi lemak is good enough and at much less albeit no air con
The cendol is great, but the kuih bingka and kuih kohsui were a total rip-off for $1.80 PER PIECE. It was good, yes but not so good as to be worth the price. Would come again for the cendol but skip the kuih, people, unless you like being robbed in broad daylight.
had the kosong set + cendol since i am a vegetarian. amazing and generous portion of chilli!
Opinions on coconut club are usually binary - either people love it for the quality, convenience, and setting, or they hate it for being pretentious and overpriced nasi lemak.
I for one, love it.
It s everything it sets out to be, really good local flavors with better ingredients, hearty portions, packed with flavors, and a good variety of complementary side dishes beyond nasi lemak.
Things can get pretty pricey and out of hand if you don t control yourself, but if you want quality local food in air conditioned comfort with an after-work beer, not many other places come close.
The nasi lemak pretty damn good, ironically the only thing I would improve is the taste of the coconut rice, but the egg, the fried chicken - they re all 10/10.
Would skip the kueh salat and go for the cendol.
Good for: after work dinner, overseas guests, dinner with a beer, chill dinner
My husband and I have been visiting this place for sometime in the past 1 year now and I'm a bigger fan of the food than he is.
Went to the revamped store yesterday which was just next door and I believe there's more seating available now compared to before. Place is also more well-lit and seems like TCC is embracing a more open-concept now.
However, it feels like they have lost somewhat a personal touch to their dishes.. Having the open concept shows that most plates are ready with the basic ingredients to be served and the finishing touches are simply adding the sambal, rice and chicken on which seems like they are prioritizing efficiency more than personal touches. Fried egg is now changed to hard-boiled egg, and also served cold..... Hard-boiled egg doesn't go well with Nasi Lemak to be honest. I wish they will change this back instead of prioritizing efficiency. Side dishes are all laid out on the counter as well but seems very overpriced with $4.50 for a meat/seafood dish and my beef rendang only came with 2 pieces of meat. Chicken seems a bit of a smaller portion now as well.
Drinks Menu has been changed too, no more Teh/Kopi because the counter doesn't have space to make this fresh, which is a waste because I really liked these drinks previously. So now you're limited to $4 a cup of Bandung/Lime Juice... which is really costly even for a drink.
They don't have any menus anymore (which is great as they are environmentally friendly) but least they can do is to put up a board in the restaurant to inform customers of the prices they are paying up-front.. We all know TCC is a more pricey place for fancy Nasi Lemak but transparency should still be key. FYI - It costs $50 for 2 Nasi Lemak, 2 Bandung, 1 Beef Rendang and 1 Chendol with Red Bean.
Some upsides is that they now offer free flow of rice, servers are friendly and attentive to offer you more sambal/rice, food still tastes good too.
Except.. the changes seem to make them look a tad more like a zichar store right now and I prefer the old TCC. Appreciate the effort to revamp and upgrade themselves but in my opinion, the customers are getting the brunt of it with these specialization changes and increased prices. I know efficiency is key but bring back the fried egg please, hard-boiled egg is a no-go for Nasi Lemak......
Was excited to eat visit TCC again but left with a less than satisfied experience. Probably be back 1/2 times a year here on. Hoping it will be better during my next visit.
Rice is extremely bland and has no coconut flavour at all. Chicken is oily and the meat seems to have no seasoning either... For the price I can't pass it... Will not return.
Pricey nasi lemak. I personally found it a little oily.
Had a nice dinner in the coconut club. Anne who was taking care of our table was extremely attentive to our needs. She even took time to explain each Kueh that is available and suggested what we might like. Went there for their Chendol and Anne sensing our excitement, provided us with another complementary bowl of Chendol just because we were the most excited group she met when Chendol was mentioned! Bless her heart!
Visited the Coconut Club on a Sat early afternoon with the family. We waited in line for about 20 minutes, but the staff are friendly and iced beverages were offered to you while you wait. I really enjoyed their main course - Nasi Lemak, which is essentially rice steamed with coconut milk in Pandan leaf. The dish juicy fried chicken (a bit spicy) and peanuts and fried fish that smelled and tasted great. Their dessert - Cendol, which is a type of SEA shaved ice, was a pleasant surprise. Definitely give it a try!
Great delish local bites, affordable pricings, hearty vibes, friendly service, and situated in the happenings of Ann Siang - a place that ticks many boxes! The chendol goes well as a dessert after the meal, to wash away the lemak !
Food is good and definitely worth a try. One of the best nasi lemak.
But of course price is a little steep for a plate of nasi lemak
The fried chicken is nice. That s all. But my partner chicken thigh was not cooked thoroughly. Teh Tarik worst ever. Take your own plain water and pay at counter but you still kena charge service charge
Despite what everyone will tell you, the nasi lemak is really not on par with what you can get at more popular places. But yes, it has a nice ambiance, crowd, and I believe you can get beer if that's your kind thing.
The otahs were dry and overcooked during my visit. The rice was quite on point. The chicken had some work to do.
Best Nasi Lemak in Singapore... chicken breast was deliciously crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, rice cooked to perfection, and sambal was flavorful but not overly spicy. Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!
All hits no misses. Possibly best nasi lemak in Singapore
My favorite Nasi Lemak place in Singapore. You get hawker quality and taste with the comfort of a nice restaurant. It is also a great place to introduce foreigners to Singaporean food. Recommended for both locas and foreigners and every day eating and special occasions.
Had the otak otak nasi lemak and while the nasi lemak itself was alright (rice could be fluffier with more santan), the otak otak didn't taste like the real deal. Service was polite and friendly.
Good nasi lemak. Every element is done well. They even gave us complimentary kueh (it s really good) and topped it up when I asked to tabao the leftovers. Friendly service. Recommended!
My 1st time and i must agree its a great cosy place to have a deliciously well done Nasi Lemak meal . The deco within and even without is interesting and very instagramable . The Service staff are absolutely friendly esp when not too busy and our server Xiu Jing was impressive . Definitely coming back again !!!
I've had a bit of a think about this review and actually being in Singapore for a week now there are much better places for nasi lemak. The sambal was lovely but the hawker centres do just as good if not better nasi lemak! I think I'll be taking my money to the vendor in the Amoy Street Food Centre who charges 3 dollars for an even tastier nasi lemak!
Nasi lemak - Fluffy rice and juicy fried chicken!! Their ikan bilis is super crunchy and powdery!! Love it...
sambal kankong - quite salty so would not order again or recommend
One of my local friends brought me here for lunch and we were here around 2pm on a Thursday and it wasn't very busy at all. I really enjoyed the nasi lemak here. The rice is really fragrant and the chicken was full of flavour. The coconut rice on its own was very delicious as well, I feel like I can eat a whole bowl on its own!
Great place and taste, bit too sweet hoping more spicy taste. But overall great experience
Good chicken nasi lemak. Huge portion. Chendol good too.
The succulent chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. A party for the tastebuds for sure. We were lucky to get there just before the dinner rush after 7pm.
5th time dining here. Every time we are craving for a nasi lemak, The Coconut Club is always a top of mind. Portion is big that we always end up belly full! :D Another favorite here is the Chendol - one of the best! The Kuih Platter is also a must try if your stomach still have a room for it :)
Great nasi lemak. Some complain about the pricey price for nasi lemak, but are willing to pay the same for brunch that is half the portion and not as great. Come on! You have to pay for great food! You should not discriminate just because they are local cuisine.
Way too much food for one person to finish, but every part is delicious, especially the fried fish.
Nasi lemak was delicious, the chicken was tender and juicy but hand to heart, it is definitely not worth the price. There s better nasi lemak out there a quarter of the price. The ambience was great though, good place to unwind and dine if you are willing to spend.
I can appreciate the effort to elevate the Nasi Lemak Dish and provide a higher quality of ingredients but I genuinely felt the dish miss out on some great opportunities to reconstitute ingredients or marinades to provide the same flavor profiles but with stronger or distinct notes.
Serves high quality of food..
Portion is always generous..
Very lively atmosphere..
Staff is very attentive
Hospitality is beyond expectation..
Definitely enjoyed my time here!
It's fancy nasi lemak but for the setting and the price and the great service it's worth it! We went on a night when their rice cooker wasn't working and the staff were very upfront in calling out that the rice would not be up to their usual standard. It was still very decent and we really enjoyed the fried chicken which was tender and flavorful. Kueh was also great, so be sure to save some room for dessert! I have to say what left a deeper impression though was the quality of service and the owner's commitment to standards, which was a pleasant surprise for me :)
Great place to have some delicious nasi lemak. The coconut rice was nice and fragrant and the sambal not too spicy. My favorites however are the chrunchy anchovies and the juicy chicken. Unlike inexpensive food stalls that also sell nasi lemak the coconut club is more expensive however here the chicken is actual meat and not just bones. I would definitely go there again.
A popular Nasi Lema restaurant that is always lined up.
Definitely delicious!
I want to eat again!
But the price is three times that of the stalls. Lol
Took about 20 min in line during the lunch rush but it was worth the wait. Great food, good service, indoor and outdoor seating available.
The specialty of the house is the Nasi Lemak, but the truth is that we found it very nice. Good product and perfect cooking time. The desserts surprised us a lot, brought beans, incredibly good. The service very well, too; They have been very kind and they have advised us very well. Oh well, that's worth it.
Really great experience, nasi lemak was so good and cendol is unforgettable. The waitress/waiters are very friendly and helpful.
Highly recommend coming here.
Food was good but abit too expensive. Chilli is a bit too oily but otherwise it is good to try it out for at least one time.
One of the very best restaurants I have visited in Singapore so far. Very pleasant cheerful and polite staff. Simple menu but great food. Much healthier as well. I would definitely go there again!
Craving fix! Nasi lemak is good especially the chicken - Tender and juicy - worth the price. Otak is overpriced and taste not as fantastic as the nasi lemak - will not order again for my next visit. Friendly and helpful staffs. Queue for a while but the line moving fast. Will definitely come back again.
High Quality and Authentic Peranakan Nasi Lemak. The price is reasonable with good portion of high quality food at this location. I would recommend for tourist or someone who would want to try authentic Peranakan Nasi lemak. However this nasi lemak is not Outstanding and i doubt it'll WoW the locals(Malaysian/Singaporean), I would feel like it's good quality nasi lemak in cafe environment. PS: It really irritates me that most of customers here doesn't finish sambal which is soul of dish, probably they're tourist and see this as fried chicken coconut rice
"high end" nasi lemak with a tiong bahru vibe. Really great food that's worth the splurge once in a while
Good food, especially the nasi lemak. The chicken set comes with rice (free flow), 2 pieces of fried chicken, an egg, and ikan bilis and peanut.
For $12, the price is steep for nasi lemak, but it's worth going.
The place is also surprisingly very child friendly. They offer free kids meals (rice, peanut, ikan bilis and cucumber) and they have lots of baby seats available.
I tried the chendol as well, but it was disappointing, I don't recommend trying it.
Go early the avoid the queue!
Thumb up for the ambience and services. The foods are good but considering the price I find it's a bit expensive. Good for bringing guests to experience SG foods (if your guest can't handle hawker centre).
The fat rice consist of Coconut Rice, Chicken, Speed Fish, Peanuts, Cucumber, Fried Egg & Sambal.
One of my first meals in Singapore and still one of the most memorable. Delicious and good price.
Best nasi lemak ever. Oh and the chendol is pretty good too
30 minutes queuing, 30 minutes to be serve because our food was brought to other 6 people table who sat later than us. Overrated restaurant, noisy and overpriced. Rice lacks cocunat taste. Food was normal. You can get the same food for less than half price in many places in Singapore.
Nasi lemak was nicely flavored, rice texture just nice, sambal was satisfying with a bit of spicy aftertaste, chicken was crispy on the outside soft on the inside.
Cendol was a delight, nice balance of each item, neither too much ice nor too much sugar. Suggest to add the red bean for a nice finish.
The best nasi lemak (rice) I ve eaten. Can really taste the creaminess of the coconut from the rice. The otah is very good, and nice smell of spices for the fried chicken. Food is literally 5/5. Crowded and little noisy on a Sat lunch.
If no mistake, we can change the chicken leg to otakotak or fish then we won't get chicken leg but we still need to pay extra for the fish and otakotak at quite expensive amount, this way just doesn't make sense to me, but anyway overall was good but not meeting my expectation as I know a better one hehe
Had the nasi lemak with chicken breast and the chicken was very tender and flavourful. The peanuts and ikan bilis were crispy and the chili was good. Rice had some hints of coconut. The otak was $10 - would not get it again.
The best nasi lemak in Singapore. The chicken is extremely tender with an amazing crunchy coconut seasoning. All the classic sides on the plate too
Good food even better service..... One of the best nasi lemaks in Singapore
Nice but not worth the que. Also at the price of $15.07 incl service charge and gst is too steep for a plate of nasi lemak
Probably one of the most satisfying nasi lemak in town!
Definitely worth the wait in line, however be prepared to wait 30-40 minutes depending on time of day.
Staff are helpful, friendly, and explain the menu perfectly.
Food is great and the Nasi Lemak is their signature dish is perfect. However, if you come later they may be out of certain cuts of chicken so if there is a preference for breast or dark meat go earlier.
Stay for desert as their Khuey and shaved ice is delicious.
The chicken was good, flavourful and juicy. The rice and sambal were just normal. Overall just an average but overhyped pricey nasi lemak.
Despite the higher then normal price for a local dish. I think it's worth the money as the execution is top quality and authentic. The portion is big enough to fill you up without having to order extras and the continuing large crowds are a testament to their quality despite being open for some time now
Yummy nasi lemak! Awesome fried chicken, it is crispy on the outside & juicy on the inside. The otak is delicious too. The chendol is just as yummy!
Fancy nasi lemak, the chicken was tender and juicy, rice was nicely portioned. Staff were friendly and service was fast.
Come for the main dish, side dishes can give a miss.
Food is tasty but pricey for a Nasi Lemak ... Worth a try for the experience. More of a touristy place.
Lovely restaurant serving delicious nasi lemak cooked to perfection!
Waited 20mins after ordering. Waitress forgotten about order. Chicken undercook...must be done in hurry. Average overall. Better nasi lemak elsewhere.
Had been hearing a lot of craze on this atas (popular) nasi lemak and decided to travel there to try. Parked the car at The URA Centre Car Park as it is directly opposite the place. Reached about 6pm weekday and was not crowded yet. Was amazed on the menu and decided to order their basic Nasi Lemak with a choice of either Chicken Breast or Chicken Thigh meat. Added a Otak (Always order one with Nasi Lemak) and Ladies Finger (Vegetable) and 2 Honey Lemongrass drinks. Our dinner was great and delicious but with a hefty bill of S$59, I might not come back again for the price and felt the Nasi Lemak do not have that power killer taste as other local popular ones. Cash and credit card are accepted there.
Had their nasi lemak $12.80, otak-otak $10.50, sayur lemak $8.50 and cendol $3.80. Chicken was tender and fragrant. Sayur lemak tasted different. It was light, something that works for me. Cendol isn t that great. There was no queue on a Saturday lunch.
Delectable Nasi Lemak and the variety of dishes. The fried chicken (see photo) has to be the crowd's favourite. If you're there with a group of friend, I'd suggest you go for an ala carte meal so you can order more dishes for sharing!
Otah has a nice texture and it is delicious. For the greens, go for the long beans with dried shrimps.
TIPS: This place is very crowded during lunch. Go during dinner instead. If you love Nasi Lemak, this one is a winner.
An expensive plate of nasi lemak and sides but hey it's really really good so it's worth it. Delicious and recommend if you have guests in town!
We ordered the set (Ayam Goreng Berempah) with the otak-otak. The rice was warm and taste splendid with the sambal. You can literally taste the chunks of fish in the Otak. Chicken was crispy on the outside and tender in the inside.
Unfortunately, we didn t get to try the fried egg as they are moving soon and some items on the menu were not available.
To round it off, I got the chendol which was authentic and not the kind you got at food courts which was always either too sweet or watered down
Overall a great experience and highly recommended.
Over rated and overpriced. It's actually 4 stars for the friendly staff and 2 stars for the food. The rice is not fragrant, couldn't taste the coconut milk. Chicken pieces, while tender and juicy, taste bland. The best part was the ikan bilis, I kid you not! Nice hipster place to be seen in, but that's about it. Definitely NOT the best nasi lemak in town, you can have better nasi lemak elsewhere, that doesn't cost $12.80. Desserts - stick to the chendol and bubur chacha (available on weekends only). The sago is a disaster. This will be my first and last time here.
overrated restaurant. I came here once and I am never coming back. The food was overpriced and we had high hopes about it. When I sank my teeth in the chicken, it was a disappointment. We did not get what we paid for. do not recommend this place.
Good nasi lemak. This is finally a version which fits the name lemak. The rice is really fragrant and infused with flavours. Truly truly a lemak nasi
