I finally get the hype about the Nasi Lemak from Coconut Club. the rice was so lemak and flavourful and the chicken was very addictive. the sambal for the Nasi Lemak was also bombass!

We also had the otak otak, beef rendang and chendol, but totally forgot to take photos. Very yummy indeed!

Really expected more after hearing so much hype. In the end the nasi lemak here is very average.

Minus one star for the exorbitant price and minus another star for the undercooked awful chicken. Service is so-so and instead of saying "how was the food, they say would you want another rice and would you want our special otah to go with your nasi lemak?

Very underwhelming.

I think back to the first time I came to the coconut club to what it is now and am disappointed. The chicken isn't crisp like it used to be; it hardly has any batter on it. Prices have also gone up considerably. Service is slow, but that has been consistently so.

I visited The Coconut Club of the 2nd day of their reopening since they move to 28 Ann Siang Road. So, we got complimentary side dishes. We tried all of them. We ordered Nasi Lemak set, Chendol and Lemongrass Drink. The rice of the Nasi Lemak was good, very light, not overly creamy but the rest was below my expectation. The chicken was undercook, you can still see raw meat, the deeper you cut into the chicken. It was certainly fried at high heat. The sambal was lacking flavour, under seasoned. I have tasted much better ones. For the price, I expected a better quality dish. The chendol was nice, a tad overly sweet but generally nice. Geylang Serai Market Chendol is way nicer and cheaper. As for the Lemongrass Drink, it was forgettable. Did not leave any impression. Just like drinking Lemongrass Cordial Drink. As for service, the waiter and waitresses and generally kind and patient when they serve you BUT when they are among themselves, they are rowdy and joke around loudly and I find it very unpleasant. They shout, laugh and talk loudly across the shop. You feel like in a set of a filming scene involving gangsters. Not pleasant at all. The side dishes were also disappointing. Definitely a lot more to improve. The hype will die down if they continue to be under-performing.

Food is good. If u are a tourist and choose to eat here, at least attempt to eat the chilli that comes with the rice. Otherwise there isn t really a point eating Nasi Lemak.

And also, the staff should really not make Bandung using tap water so openly if you are going to charge $4 a glass

I really wanted to love this place (with all the great reviews I've seen online) but alas, the nasi lemak was underwhelming and average at best. The staff were friendly and helpful in recommending dishes. This would be a great place to host visiting friends from overseas!

The best Nasi Lemak I've had in a long time. Came here for lunch with a friend and had a really great experience.

The Nasi Lemak was delicious, the chicken was plump and skin perfectly crisp. The sambal chilli was great with just enough flavour and spice. Of course the coconut rice makes the Nasi Lemak worth it, and the rice was rich and full of flavour.

But the best thing in this meal was the mouthwatering fried eggplants, I would highly recommend this dish, and I'll be coming back specifically for it.

My family and I visited The Coconut Club and left yearning for our next visit. The nasi lemak was sublime and the chicken was such a lovely blend of familiar flavours with a unique twist. It wasn t too oily too! We also ordered a platter of beef short ribs which had an unparalleled tenderness we were pleasantly surprised! One of the staff told us that she couldn t give us a specific recommendation for their desserts as everything is great. She was right... Special mention to Fifi who was an absolute gem this evening with her outstanding service, attentiveness and hospitality!

Atas nasi lemak. Good place to bring friends visiting Singapore. Also good to line your stomach with the oily goodness from their chicken wings and rice before a night of drinking around Club Street

Excellent (although pricey) Nasi Lemak. The coconut rice was awesome. The set comes with chicken, egg, fried ikan bilis / peanuts and sambal chilli. Very filling portion, especially if you top it off with their Chendol dessert (which is highly recommended as well). Expect to queue during peak hours, especially lunch hours.

The nasi lemak is one of the most expensive in Singapore but the taste is at best compared to any regular nasi lemak stalls.

I can easily name a few that are much better than this.

Nevertheless, if you feel rich, go ahead and try it.

Update: in 2020, they shifted to new locations. Price remains so does the quality of food. Awesome place to invites foreign friends and guests.

Very good environment for south east asia traditional nasi lemak. The nasi lemak rice is well balance with coconut cream, it go very well with the sambal chili, fried anchovy, fried peanuts and fried egg. The chicken or fish also well balance with the traditional spices and flavor. The tofu is a let down but worth to try. The lemon grass drink is nice and well balance. The price is on the high side. Overall worth well place for nasi lemak.

Finally tried this place, and it did not disappoint! Best Nasi Lemak I've had in Singapore. They serve ONE main entree and it's the Nasi Lemak. I personally really loved it because of the chicken. Is it worth $12sgd? Well I say the entree itself is only work $6-7, but you are also paying for the service, AirCon, and location. Sooo, yes, worth it. I'll go back.

Did a takeaway, so this may not be the fairest of reviews. However, the rice was a little dry and not fragrant enough for me. Chicken was overdone and tough (probably best eaten straight from the kitchen). Overall, I'd think that it's a reasonable price based on it's location and decor. The ambience is great.

The best nasi lemak in Singapore! The sambal is the chunk type which I personally prefer. The rice is nice and fluffy, and the chicken perfectly juicy. The only component that could be improved on is the ikan billis

The only way to really classify this space is hawker chic. This is one of the best nasi lemak places in Singapore but it is atas (expensive). One plate costs 12.8sgd pre tax while a stall otherwise would charge 3-4 dollars.

What you re paying for is
- ambience
- beer on tap
- table service
- other food options which are actually complimentary
- location
- great service

I highly recommend this restaurant. The chicken that is served is spectacular. The rice is fragrant and delicious. Overall, great place for a meal.

Superb take on Nasi Lemak and accompanying dishes. Every part is well thought out and the quality of the ingredients really comes through in the taste, from the coconut flavoured rice to the rich and spicy chicken and even though sambal. Even the Kuehs are delicious! This is not your neighborhood $2.50 nasi lemak.. defo give it a try for a nice meal out with a group (that way you can order everything on the menu). They also have daily specials that you need to ask about since they are not on the menu. I can't recommend it enough!

Go for the chicken, is their signature. Otah is just ok. Coconut rice is fragrant and sambal is well balanced in spiciness and sweetness. Sambal Lala and Chendol are nice. Portion is filling, quarter of the chicken, either the thigh or breast.

To start with there's a minimum charge of $30 per person for reservation table. Ridiculous! Nasi Lemak nothing special about, everything was served room temperature, not even warm. It was full today and the ambience of the restaurant was terrible!! Super duper noisy. We can't even hear each other, we had to raise our voices. However, the waiter was really patience and thumbs up for his service.

Massive generous servings and freaking delicious for $12.80nett. Tender chicken, super crunchy and flavourful batter, perfectly runny egg, sambal just hits the spot, fragrant coconut rice.. It ticks all the boxes of an awesome Nasi lemak. Expect to queue up unless you go early or later (after 1.30pm). Their cendol dessert is fantastic too!! Great value (did I mention it's free rice refills?!). Great ambience. Fantastic food. Attentive service. Only downside is the queue but apart from that, its winning all around.

You can tell the people who run this place are really passionate about what they do, and this is reflected in every dish and drink that was prepared. Everything tasted fresh and made in-house, and it is obvious that each item on the menu was made with the best quality ingredients in mind.

Their nasi lemak was delicious, with each item on the dish complementing each other well, providing the perfect balance overall. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the skin was crispy without being too greasy. The peanuts and ikan billis were crunchy with just the right amount of saltiness, and the egg was cooked just right (not too runny, not overcooked and dry). The rice brought the dish together with it's fragrance and smooth texture. The side dish of otak provided the right amount of spiciness, and the tiny morsels of white fish meat provides further proof of the high quality that The Coconut club adheres to. Lastly, the kuehs were a delight, perhaps one of the best in Singapore; the texture was smooth and consistent with the perfect amount of sweetness to it.

Equally impressive is the impeccable service they provided. They were attentive and friendly, and were very generous- they gave our table a few free kuehs, and never charged for the extra rice we took to go with our leftover. Plus, there were free drinks provided for the people waiting outside for their tables. Such gestures do go a long way, and the fact they went out of their way to make the customer's dining experience as enjoyable as possible shows their passion for food and culinary, and that they're not just out here trying to make money.

The Coconut Club has set the standard for what food and service should be like in Singapore.

Cheerful attentive service, comfortable environment and balanced flavour. Chicken is tender and juicy, marinated with tropical herbs and spices that gives it a full flavour through the meat. The rice is well cooked with balanced Flavours of coconut and spices that will be easily acceptable by foreigners. Place is easy to locate and opens till late.

It's one of the tastier Nasi Lemak I've ever had. Big pieces of meat, juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. But the price is too high for this. Won't frequently visit this place though.

Good nasi Lamak served up by engaged staff in a tasteful but simple setting. They do one dish with a few variations and they do it well.

Great nasi lemak, a local dish done with a touch of class. The chicken was tender and fried nicely. The chilli was sweet yet spicy - exactly what we love! The ikan billis was especially good. I love my peanuts and their version was a lightly salted version that blew me away. Thumbs up to this restaurant

The Coconut Club is unfortunately a great example that Michelin had very little idea of what they were doing when they came to Singapore.

Very very average meal, at an above-average price.

The food is decent. The sambal was average, neither very spicy nor very sweet. Somewhere in between that was just... average. The chicken was dry, and not very flavourful, despite being cooked with plenty of spices (and oil). +1 star for one dish that was pretty good - their ayam kotok.

Another +1 star for service, which was prompt and attentive.

The price is (relative to other, better places) ridiculous.

The ambience was all right, a bit warm even with air conditioning. Crowded as expected.

Overall experience was below-average.

I honestly think. This is the best Nasi Lemak in Singapore. The components of the dish, individually it stands out on its own. Sambal fragrant and spicy. Peanuts are well roasted and seasoned. The little anchovies are clean and crispy without being over cooked. The chicken is so succulent and fragrant. The only other competitor would be Village Park in Malaysia. I ate Nasi Lemak all my life before I could even know how to spell. The Nasi Lemak here reminds me of how a simple dish if thoughtfully put together could be great and memorable.

Nasi Lemak - $12.80

Nasi Lemak - $12.80

For me the price catches my attention before anything else. Of course with a high prices, expectations go up.

Rumors say, they use fresh coconut milk which is squeezed by hand, thus the rice turns out softer and more fragrant. Add on half a fried chicken that's crispy and juicy, sambal and all the works, it makes up a satisfying lunch meal.

Its air conditioned, its fragrant and satisfying. What's not to love but perhaps a spicier sambal :)

The Chendol here is a must try.

Excellent food and fantastic service. Limited menu is by design to encourage you to try their signature Nasi Lemak. The portions are huge too. Our group ordered Nasi Lemaks, the Otak Otak, beans with sambal and a cendol each (definitely recommend getting this as your dessert).

Awesome food. Love the sambal, anything made with the sambal is yummy - the fish, squid, clams. The chicken was cooked well, fried real crispy. And the rice is Super fragrant . The desserts are great too. The Gula Melaka ice shavings is great after a spicy meal.

The rice was not fragrant at all - dry and in broken pieces. When my friend and I politely gave feedback, the owner was not receptive and defensive. Not hostile, but I would have expected a better customer service. From the way he tried to explain himself I could see that he did have the passion for his food, but the quality control is not there. Looking at the food being served around us, rice was given in different quantities, chendol was in differing quantities - some with red bean, some without red bean, some almost melted and others a heaping scoop in the bowl. Also don't bother trying the otah it's watery and sort of dissolves in a powdery way.
Chicken was juicy but other than salt, lacks flavor.
Not worth going go, and definitely not worth the price.
