i was transfered here recently from horrible CRC. the staff here are pretty awesome. The desk workers always gave everyone their immediate attention, i never felt as though they were at all bothered by patients. DOctor S., was very nice, and i felt as though i could trust her. She was very patient and understanding. Charles, one of the blue shirted nurses, was exceptional in his care of patients. He was very soft spoken, and always tried to put the patients at ease. He was very attentive and expressed great concern for our well being. The groups were very informative, the Dietician very engaging and interesting. I enjoyed her cooking class, where she shared exotic spices from her pantry.
Overall, a very positive experience. I'm glad i was transfered here. I want to note that their collective approach( Doctor, Nurses, Technicians)
to patients in immediate crisis was very compassionate, and they all worked together very effectively. I must, however, state that there was ONE episode that would tarnish this review. A technician, in response to an agitated patient, pushed him from behind as he walked toward his room. This was unprofessional, and could have resulted in harm of the older gentleman(John, very cool and intelligent dude)
and i hope the young man who conducted himself in this manner receives additional training ( and severe rebuke)so that he does not compromise the quality care provided by others here. Also, the food here is really damn good. The portions were good, but im used to heaping ones, but i felt very satisfied after meals. Plus, there is the perk of allowing patients a cigarette break, which always helps to pacify the patient population therein. 5 Stars plus!!!
Oh, did i mention? The snacks were really a treat...there was even ICE CREAM!!! Next time i decompensate, i wish to be expedited here!!!!(or BANNER WEST, another very good acute care facility)
