Sono-Tek is an engineering driven company that focuses on customer satisfaction, constant product development and improvement.
I have had the opportunity to be involved with several installations of Sono-Tek equipment in the past three years; the installations are efficient, the systems are precise, repeatable and simple to operate and we have transitioned through the learning curve very quickly.
Sono-Tek application engineers validate and burn-in the capabilities of the system in the lab prior to shipment, and their on-site lab is complete with the necessary tools (SEM, High power scopes, thin film measurement, etc....) to allow validation of coating thickness and uniformity.
The technical staff is friendly, very easy to work with and straight shooters; they re highly knowledgeable in conformal coating, thin film applications and they strongly encourage their customers to join them in their lab to work together on coating samples and validating the results.
Sono-Tek is an OEM partner that can be relied on for excellent equipment, straight answers and responsive customer support.
Have 2 Sono-Tek coating systems for both R&D and production, that we have been using for over 3 years. The Sono-Tek staff is very supportive of our needs and questions (at no charge) even on these machines that are far out of warranty. The systems to date had no downtime (very reliable) although we have suggested some software improvements of which about half they have implemented. I would rank this company in the top 10% of our vendors.
After considerable investigation involving back-and-forth discussions over the phone and via multiple e-mails, we purchased a device from Sono-Tek that was unable to do what they specifically told us it could do. They initially strung us out with excuses and fixes that did nothing to address the underlying design flaw. When we finally ran out of patience and tried to return it, we found out that they have a no return under any circumstances policy, something I have never previously encountered during many years of buying scientific equipment. If you value your $$, avoid this outfit and their products.
