Wonderful food. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Love it!

We ordered a slab of ribs with the guy told us was a pound and a half they were good very good but it was wasn't any meat Harley on the bones the okra was really good and I forgot my garlic bread but I live too far to drive all the way back for three pieces of garlic bread for a dollar 99 cent so I advise everyone to check the audit and make sure it's fulfilled the young lady that brought it to the car was really nice she went above and beyond they only had one person on the window taking orders so it took quite some time and it was a little pricey

Just a couple of blocks off S.R.222.I had a great pork sandwich .

Good service, try the "red neck Chinese rolls" very good.

Pork was great as always but they changed the coleslaw and it sucks tastes spoiled

You won't get the fancy scenery as the newly renovated Sonny's but you do get the friendly service and the great food.

It was very busy inside and curb side. Food was hot and delicious

Chicken wings and ribs were not hot all the way through, but the service was excellent, and waitress was pleasant and patient with the young ones. I'd recommend still. I've been here a few times and every other time, the food was spot on

This place is good. A little slow on the service, but friendly staff. My only complaint is the seating. They us tables with bench seating and no back support. Chairs would be much better, but otherwise a great place.

I work close to this Sonny's and decided to have lunch there today, let me just say it was a bad decision. I ordered the 10 wings dry rubbed which they were raving about, and upon arrival to the table looked like Hummingbird wings and were horribly over cooked and small. The dry rub was sprinkled on after it was cooked and it just fell to the bottom of the tray. I'm not one to complain, and I definitely don't send food back to the kitchen because I have read the stories. Service from our waitress lacked as well, not once was I offered a refill or a drink to go when all the waitresses around me were taking great care of their customers, but not mine. Anyhow, if you want some good dry rubbed wings I would suggest Bonos.

Good food okay prices. Consistant quality but seems like it either takes forever to get your food or it is there in 5 minutes (sometimes cold)

Cashier was friendly and provided great customer service.

Food has to be frozen... tonight I had the AYCE pork and the outside was hot, very hot. Inside, freezing cold. Decor is nice, but there's this smell that hits you when you walk in the door like a sucker punch. Then you get the hot/cold pork and you think to yourself, "why didn't I walk out when that smell hit me like a bag of bricks?" Then when the waitress says that the kitchen "doesn't think the pork is cold" you know that it's your own fault.

TL/DR; When it doesn't smell good when you walk in, just leave. Leave right then and there.

You can count on good food, and love the salad bar.

I lived in Gainesville when it opened in the food was incredible. I was there last month and it was small portions and very pricey!

Fantastic brisket burger today. Parking lot was slam full and we waited 20 min. Not sure about the long line, i may not do it again but it was good food.

The order was messed up. We received fries instead of beans. The fries were over cooked.

Our group waited over 1 hour for our food. Needless to say, we all had to carry it out. Our food was cold by the time those of us who still had an appetite did eat.

Got seated right away, sat for AT LEAST 20 minutes. Had a blonde server walk passed me twice didn t ask if we ve been helped at all. Me and my dad have been coming here every week but won t be anymore. Worst customer service I ve ever experienced. After speaking with the manager he didn t seem to really care either!

This is the first Sonny's ever and was cool to visit. They're being very professional during the pandemic and the sliced pork lunch was perfect.

Best BBQ beans around, and I like their BBQ sauces.

The cole slaw and beans were dry and what happened to the regular sauce? Plus my sliced pork was cold to the touch, been eating here for 45 years but the last 2 have been disappointing .

As usual, Sonny's BBQ was wonderful. The original location on N. Waldo Rd in Gainesville, Florida is the best.

Always good! I drive through here every couple months or so. Will stop and eat if I have time. Staff is friendly like always. Food was excellent!

The pulled pork sandwich & Slaw was excellent and great service.

Chicken was so over cooked we could not eat it. We expected more from the original Sonny,s.

The fam always love Sonny's. Great BBQ awesome ribs. Love the baked beans and garlic bread. Corn bread does not disappoint

The original Sonny's, a fast and and casual barbeque joint- was in and out fast and my sandwich was delicious and juicy.

The inside of the building is really nice. The lemonade I asked for was sour. The beans were cold, and my toasted garlic bread was wet. My waiter was very pleasant and helpful.

Enjoy going to the original Sonny's location. It has character.

The original Sonny's! The best one I have been to. Good service, the staff are so so friendly. You feel the southern hospitality and cuisine. Recommendations: Fried Pickles, Pulled Pork Sandwich, and the Redneck Eggrolls.

Consistent problems. They seem to hardly ever get the order right. Ask for no or light ice, get ice to brim. Undercooked mushy fries. Received pulled instead of sliced pork. BBQ beans instead of green beans. Sad.

Already a great experience. I live in a state that doesn't have a Sonny's so visiting is ALWAYS a must when I come home to visit family.

Stop by sonnys for (2) sweet potato! 1 had spots & rotten! Other one tasted bad. I live in Starke. I was told to freeze potatoes & bring them back when I come to Gainesville. What an insult!! I paid $5.52 + gave $2 tip. But I have to bring the potatoes back

They don't hire disabled people. I can't eat anywhere where employment is refused to disabled individuals.

Don't bother reporting discrimination to the corporate office. They won't do anything about it and will allow managers to continue the discriminatory practice.

This is so sad. There are many disabled veterans
in the area looking for work.

I have Sonny s every Friday afternoon/evening from the Original Waldo Road Sonny. I do not go to any other one in Town.

Consistent quality in food. Big deal combo is my go to meal.
