Sonny's Bar-B-Q Review

Not like it use to be. Meat was dry and old. They can do much better.

May last visit was as good of experience as my previous visits. Both food & service needs improvement.

While not my personal favorite type of food, it was still good anyway. I got the sweet Carolina sandwich and would absolutely get it again. I would honestly recommend trying this place out at least once if you haven't had it before.

Place was dingy. Food was dry. No substitute for pork to sausage. I am from Texas. Can't beat Texas bbq. Sorry.

I had not visited a Sonny's in probably a year. My visit for this location was after a major sporting event, and we had been stuck in stop and go traffic for over an hour and considered ourselves fortunate just to receive a seat without an extended wait. Service was very friendly but a little slow as could be expected given the entire place had been seated so quickly. The manager of this place never stopped moving the entire time, did it with a smile, and kept all staff on task. Hey corporate, if you model all your locations after this manager's leadership, only good things will come. I'm putting Sonny's back in my rotation for BBQ on his efforts alone!

Good brisket, but if you want a great burger, this is the place! Get a burger on the big deal(side and a drink) and it's probably the best deal around. You won't be disappointed! 10 times better than 5-you-know in my opinion and a lot more options for sides.

Good barbeque restaurant with a good salad bar. Decent prices.

Sucked!!!!! Service was great,but food was horrible!!!!. Finally after waiting 30 mins for a kids French Fry that was suppose to be with her meal I asked to speak to the manager. John was nothing but rude and said he was just going to fire everyone?!?! Very unprofessional!!! I will never be back to this Sonnys

Order pulled pork. Delish fast service, I call in order and picked it up.

Missed up my order. I asked for dry rub ribs and they gave me sweet ribs. I took it back and exchanged it. The dry run ribs did not have any seasoning on them. They were very bland.

Consistently decent Bbq... you should never leave hungry. Reasonably priced.

Grew up eating Sonnys which originated in Gainesville,Fl. This is the best bbq, hands down any where I've been, including Texas....

Good and consistent. They were great with my son as well.

Good food but service needs improvements, took us way too long to get our food.

Took 20 to pick up order that was ready. Mass confusion in staff in dealing with lunch rush. Many orders not complete or correct. Food turned on its side and upside down. Disappointed.

I ordered the sampler everything was great, except the sliced brisket. It was 90% fat! Very disappointing!!!

Gave the wrong drink, and even if it was the right drink it s super disgusting. The garlic bread is soft and soggy on one side and super toasted on the other side. The baby back ribs were over cooked, dry, and cold!

Make sure you check your food before you leave. I asked for crispy fries and when I got home they were completely white like they just heated them in the microwave. I was so disappointed. Then I had a recovery coupon from july and they didnt even have it on file. They slacking.

The staff here welcomed me as if they knew me all my life. They were friendly and professional. My service was fresh and fast. They even gave me a complimentary drink because I wasn't feeling well. AWESOME!

Sonny's is really cut back on many of their locations fearing Gainesville go to their original one it's great they got wonderful BBQ pulled pork out of this world and they got a great salad in case you're on a diet

It's Sonny's so the food is always good. Our waitress was terrific! I asked for no bread and normally that's the end of the conversation but the gluten problem was talked about briefly. She put a note on the order about the allergy and assured me that the kitchen would change their gloves when prepping my lunch. And they did! She was personable and careful with my lunch and if we're over that way again, it's a great place for us to stop by again!

Sonny's food is AMAZING!!! The only thing wrong with the place is it's bathroom. Other that that I would recommend to this AMAZING place to eat.

Amy is a great server. Food was good and hot. Mac n cheese was questionable; must have came out of a can. Should ordered double the green beans.

Called to place order when answered placed on hold immediately for 8 minutes arrived, placed order at window. No garlic bread . Requested slice pork get home have pulled pork .

A bit skimpy on the sliced beef. Returned because of previous portions. This trip was disappointing. 30 miles out.

Best bbq, & this is their original location. Good salad bar, awesome sliced pork & brisket! Their bbq sauce selection is perfect. My fave is the mustard bbq sauce, which u have to ask for. Go! You will be glad you did!

Always great, great service, excellent value, stop there whenever I'm in the area.

Friendly staff and courteous. Food wasn't hot though. They put it in the microwave.

Very busy during lunch but they have delicious food!
