Sokha Beach Resort Review

DO NOT STAY!
Overpriced.
Terrible staff.
You will get food poisoning.
Food is horrible and 3x more expensive than anywhere else.
Unpleasant atmosphere.

This is a 5-star resort with a classic Khmer design, there is a bungalow with a restaurant with a foreign professional chef.

We rested in Cambodia twice, and both times choosing this hotel, we were not mistaken. The service is top notch, the staff is friendly, the food is delicious and varied. As for the beach, it is the only clean private beach in the town.

Wonderful place and also have casino, just a little expensive tariff.

Our cruise ships stopped by a nearby port. For a small fee we were able to hang out at the pool and enjoy the clean beach in this location. I highly recommend spending time here as we did not find much else to do and the immediate vicinity. We really enjoyed our lunch.

Sihanoukville: -
It is a coastal province of Cambodia. The architect of Cambodia's independence from France was "Norodom Sihanouk". He is also the King_Chamander_Head of the Cambodia. The province is named after him, Suganoukville.
If you want to enjoy any island, beach or sea in Cambodia, everyone comes here. Normally I haven't seen any big or attractive beaches here, at least for those who have already visited Bali or Phuket. But it is a popular location for Cambodians. However, there are a lot of foreigners here, which is why there are a lot of casinos, bars. I ve seen more casinos here than residential homes. At night, the lighting is in every casino, as if the lighting has entered the competition. And the area's business is more eye-catching for Chinese Cambodians.

Only visited for the day with a tour from a cruise ship but lunch was very tasty and the beach was beautiful and well kept. Can't speak to staying here but visiting for a day is really nice!

My first room was so filled with cigarette smoke, that my eyes hurt by just staying in it. Checked with reception, they said this is a non-smoking resort, but often, Chinese tourists would smoke in the room nonetheless. They changed my room to one that has no smell.

Please do proper enforcement on smokers if this is indeed a non-smoking resort.

I would prefer to have an option to make the room brighter.

Perfect place. The best in the city. Where there is a walk. Prices really high. And even when ordering in a restaurant, you are ready to pay extra service and vat. So that 20% will be added. Such a price tag.

the last oasis of Sihanoukville, the hotel is a village with 2 central bodies, and various villas for greater contact with nature, a beautiful swimming pool, a sea and a beach that tell the story of a lovely past ... visit it in slice, now mega hotels are surrounding it and the sea, does not encourage the balmeazione ..... a gem, dine at the restaurant lemongrass, excellent fish, atmosphere, if quiet romantic. nb for breakfast prepare an assault on the seats, but then there is really everything !!!

Beautiful resort with private beach straight 1.5km long with beautiful white sand.

Large rooms, good selection at breakfast, enough beach chairs at the pool and on the beach. The staff is friendly and helpful The city center is noisy and dirty, restaurants are nothing special. But there are casinos until you drop.

Great complex BUT , had big issues with the check-in staff--rude , insulting and arrogant-- I expect much more at these prices---never again.

The place was amazing and huge. It has it's own beach and there is a lot of swimming pools. The people there are so helpful

Fantastic resort, although when I visited we couldn't use the beach due to effluent.

At this moment this is the only wonderful beach available as all beaches are being damaged by Chinese construction

They say it s a five star hotel, but service and quality of food is low! Too expensive for what it is! Hope they ll improve. The beach is very nice.

Good hotel for a relaxing holiday. Breakfast is good the ambience in the restaurant but very reminiscent of youth hostel. The restaurants are rather expensive. However, with Tuktuk you are quick and cheap in town and have a good selection of restaurants. The city suffers from the construction boom.
The hotel beach is nice and kept clean. Nevertheless, garbage is flushed. However, constantly collected.

Their property stretches across 90% of the beach front. I suppose it wouldn't hurt them too much to do the public a service and keep the remaining 10% as clean as they keep their side of the beach.

Hotels for celebrities, casinos, private beaches. I do not agree.

Nice private beach but I feel smelling of water pollution from other construction near by maybe because of Sihanouk Vile didn't have big water pollution system can support to all those construction? Hope they will have a good solution soon for hold city.

Sloppy service. Sloppy architecture. A place void of identity. If it was a person, this place would be a useless playboy with no purpose, a pile of cash and no brains, no goals, no passion. On the positive, nice beach and desent pool.

Hotel was perfect. Service even better. If you like a good room, take Ocean Wing Deluxe. Breakfast was excellent. There is also free shuttle bus to the town, which in my opinion can travel bit often and to other parts of the small city as well.
Resort territory is huge, but you can use buggy cars with drivers to move around. 3 great restaurant in territory etc.
Only thing what can be better, is the wifi connection. Otherwise super hotel.

Super hotel, excellent conditions for vacation, good service, huge almost empty private beach with free service, beautifully landscaped area. The only and huge minus of this luxury are prices balanced into space. It is not so expensive in all of Cambodia. The location of the hotel is almost symbolic by the prices. The prices for additional meals, beer, soft drinks and alcohol are very high. The worst thing is that everything in the area is lost by a Chinese developer. You have to save yourself from distant trips to supermarkets to buy something to drink and eat for normal money. Fortunately, the hotel provides free transport to the market several times a day and to the port where the last bars and street food have survived.

It's a slightly old resort. Good value for the facilities provided. Beach is kept very clean by the staff. Staff are incredibly helpful. Only problem was the cleanliness of restrooms.

Beautiful mature plant (main building), great beach in the sunset direction, large rooms, delicious food especially in the lemongrass. Many Chinese tourists, extensions and their surroundings did not please us.

The new Bay View one is not bad. The view and the overall experience. But the breakfast and WiFi is bad for a $160 per night.

High-tune facilities. Quiet.
Have to wait for receptionists to sort out own things before getting to you. Especially fun after a long trip.

A very nice modern resort with several bars & restaurants, a couple of nice swimming pool areas, and a large well-kept private beach. We stayed in one of the upper-end villas and it was beautiful - Asian style room with a hot tub in the middle and a tv opposite. Only issue was that the little lake it's built over looked quite dirty and spoiled the scenery somewhat. As expected everything is pretty expensive here (for Sihanoukville) but you're not too far from the main tourist area (Serendipity). If you're looking for a little luxury during your stay then stay at Sokha for sure.

Your money is definitely not worth it. If you want to lie down on a lounger after the beach - be kind - walk along the entire coastline until you find your treasured lounger. The water in the sea is muddy, it makes no sense to take a mask with you. Wi-Fi tupit unbearably, constantly disconnects, and 4G + does not work in principle. In the bathroom it is not difficult to find someone's hair, and in our mini-bar there was not a bottle of vodka for $ 7. All cafes and restaurants from the main building are at a great distance. In general, the last minus is compensated by a good breakfast and supermarkets with low prices, which are within reach.

Well .... is okay. You only have to get a room in the main building, otherwise you have to call drivers to come for breakfast.

Beautiful five. At the reception there is a Russian-speaking girl Anna, who will tell and help. Houses on the water are terrible - they are houses in the swamp. Camping - small houses and far from the pool. I advise you to take a superior room - next to the pool, downstairs restaurant and breakfast. Delicious burgers! Lemongrass restaurant - one can go only because of the ocean view. The service and portions are worse here than in the main building. The Chinese restaurant is small. Easier and more convenient to eat downstairs, where the main building and the pool. The pool is very nice. There is a children's slide and a children's pool.

All of Sokha's staff are just polite and greet westerners.
If you are Asian, do not expect to be greeted by them ..
