We spent our Honeymoon at this hotel (July 2019) and it was a great experience, Honeymoon decoration was provided in the room ( flower petal and towel swans on the bed ), The hotel itself is really well decorated and very modern. Superb sunsets from the balcony..pool areas are pleasant, the friendly & professional staff i grew up with most of them in Essaouira and these qualities are not strange to the Souiri people.

I had the chance to spend one of the most exciting weekends at this place, such a cozy hotel with breathtaking views, and the staff is just PERFECT !
Once we arrived we were welcomed with a hot mint tea,some delicious moroccan pastry and a big big smile from the main door people (Abdelhadi & Tarik), were helped with our laguage and accompanied to our spectacular room with a pool,golf and an ocean view by the FOM him self ( Yassine boulhi ) who was so sweet and very helpful while our installation.
The HK staff were also very caring,mainly ( Abdessadek,Hind et Hafid) who were very caring for us.
We went to have an apero at the bar and (Hanane) the barmaid was just so talented as usual and made for us the best cocktails.
When it comes to the SPA, everything went as expected and more, we had the perfect treatment there as well by ( Youness,Hanane,Siham and the golden fingers girl AMINA).
The sales director who was on duty that night ( Soumia) kept checking on us and asking if there is anything to help the teams to make our stay prettier..
Not to forget the best chef ( Mohamed LARBI) who was all the time present and made for us the best breakfast we could ever have asked for, but also the F&B teams ( Brahim, and Malek) who were very professional as well.
This wasn't the first time for us at Sofitel Essaouira and won't be for sure the last, I recommand this place to whoever want to escape his stressful life and get a lifetime getaway !

This is a great hotel. It's away from the Medina so you can relax and enjoy the views and the pool, but you are close enough to take the free-hotel shuttle that will take you to the city centre in just 5 minutes.
Food is excellent, more expensive than the Medina but that's expected as you don't have anywhere else -walking distance- to go near the hotel. If you want to you can ask for a cab and they'll take you somewhere else.
Service and facilities are great. If we come back we'll definitely stay here again!
The Sofitel hotel in Essaouira is a very beautiful resort on the edge of the city. Very vast space with a number of restaurants, swimming pools, bars, and more. If you have the time, rent a bicycle from the hotel and cycle through the Golf club, all the way to the beach front area.
Was very disappointed, not a 'Luxury' resort and certainly (no longer) worth it's 5 stars. The service is OK at best, but the resort is completely run down. Needs a total renovation. I will not revisit and unfortunately can not recommend.

We have stayed here for 3+months and we still do not want to go back home to Florida, USA. The hospitality has been so amazing, the food is truly excellent, as well as the comfort of our villa with a heated pool overlooking the ocean. They clean the pool all the time, its amazing. There is a gorgeous walk through the dunes from the hotel to beach where you find plenty of camels. During Valentines Day the hotel prepared an amazing grilled seafood & meat lunch with a breathtaking view. Our daughter enjoys arts and crafts at the kids club as well as the big trampoline. The GM Nabil is always making sure we are doing good and Nabil treats our daughter as a true Princess. For our dog we were provided with a dog-bed, pillow and bowls. We really recommend the lamb tajine with prunes and almonds. The Chef deserves a Michelin star. Yassine helps you with anything you need. The housekeeping is always on point and maintaining all the covid-19 guidelines. In the golf you can find dedicated trash cans to deposit your mask and everywhere you are able to find sanitizers etc. Nothing is too much for the Sofitel Essaouira. It is the best Sofitel we have ever stayed and we are well traveled. We will be coming back many times. Hotel needs renovation urgently. Breakfast is good. Room service is terrible. I order soup but they forget bread and spoon. I call them and they bring in 30 min only spoon and 50 min for the bread. Pools are good. Rooms need renovation. Bed was broken. At front office employees don t know their job. Bellboys and restaurant employees are good.
The hotel is really nice and pretty but there is a lot to work on. Maintenance needs to be done in so many areas. We had a villa, the floor was cracked and not pretty at all. The shower area was not the best. The service was not great even if the workers were nice. The breakfast was not as expected. I don t know if it is because of the season and the outbreak that we are going through, but still, this should not be an excuse. However, the atmosphere and the vibe was enjoyable. Hope there will be some improvements.
