This Basilica is a roman catholic church dedicated to Sacred heart of Jesus, it is located at the Montmarte district, the highest point in Paris, entrance is free but be ready for the tough steps you need to take to get up to the cathedral. Expect the long queue, there's a security control before entering. Ramp and lift for disabled persons. This is one of the popular landmarks and one of the most visited in Paris. The interior design, the mosaic and the stained glass windows are just amazing !! This must be in your top ten !!

The church, surrounding and the view of Paris from that location are very nice. Worth to visit. But be careful with the people illegally selling souvenirs, alcoholic drinks and especially wrist band sellers. They can try to put wrist band on your wrist or even small kids' wrists and ask for money. I witnessed a couple of incidents.

Place is awesomely lit and had a nice view and breeze at night. You might find great street musicians and a chill crowd sitting at the foot of the stairs. Great place to have some me time. The building in itself is impressive, except for the occasional brawls (that doesn't affect you ) it is a great place to be at. In the morning, it is just as beautiful with a carrousel and playground so also great place to visit if you have a kid.

Go super early in the morning. It gets very busy - not Eiffel Tower busy but there are a lot of tourists and vendors around making photos and appreciation a challenge. Plan to spend at least 2 hours in the area. It's quite bohemian, a More

It's a french classic monumental place to visit. The Cathedral is beautiful and same goes for the view.

Unfortunately it is always packed and beware for curbsiders and ball gamblers. I advice you not to take your chances with them.

Beautiful church and great view over Paris! Not easy walking - can be a concern if walking uphill is not your thing. Even if you take the funincular railway you'll be walking a lot from the metro.

Must see location in Paris. The silhouette of the outside is stunning, as is the inside of the church. Free to enter, no booking required like other sites in Paris. Also great views of the city from up there. Beware of pickpockets in the area like the rest of Paris- I saw a few up here. Don t do anyone s survey!!! It s a scam and you will be robbed. Behind the Basilica there is also a lovely small green area, much nicer and less busy than the one on the front with the hill:)

This Cathedral unlike most Parisian landmarks is free to enter ,altough if their was an entrance fee I would still recommend a visit. The location of this place in the Monmarte area of Paris, affords one beautiful vistas of Paris below. This church is located in the highest point of Paris. The surrounding area of the cathedral is situated in a maze of old narrow cobblestone streets, where artists abound painting seated on street sidewalks. One can purchase original pieces of art at a good value. I always make a point to visit Sacre-Couer whenever I am in Paris!

Fantastic, awesome, l was in awe.
Never seen so many people sitting on steps in almost a party mood. One thing l would advise be aware of your valuables very much got the feeling you could loose your property. The views outside are spectacular if you can make your way through the crowds to take those special pictures.

Atmospheric inside & sweeping views outside.

Atmospheric inside & sweeping views outside.
Worth a climb up a fairly steep hill (funicular railway available if you want) to join the hordes of tourists at on of the iconic places in Paris. You have to go in the church to take in the atmosphere.

A must place to visit if you are looking for souvenirs to bring home from Paris. They have quite a selection, from shirts to cute tea sets to aprons and place mats. My daughter is fond of art work and found herself the series for kids that she watches and was happy to see the original cat noir. Along the shops you will find restaurants, cafe and ice cream store, just when you need to rest from a long tiring day.

Wow,an amazing building, history and religious location. Worth the climb up to the tower 6 for adults. Views are amazing and lots of coffee and baguette vendors around the area. Some very nice restaurant also. Just 3 minutes walk to Monmatre with all the artists and restaurants

Beautiful architecture, street vendors will be all over you to buy locks for the fences, roses, and other souvenirs, so be mindful. Inside the church is free to visit after passing through security. To visit inside the dome is 9 per person.

Beautiful old church in the heart of the montmartre district. Lots of steps to get up, but well worth the walk for views over Paris alone. If you're not into walking there is a funicular! Only downside are the people who try and harass tourists for money by selling wristbands or cheap tat. Keep waking, DO NOT STOP!

While this Catholic Church calls to Parisians and ...

While this Catholic Church calls to Parisians and tourists alike from its awesome perch above the city, with its blinding white marble facade, and beautifully decorated interior, the vendors/operating in numbers, flood it's foundation & are often threatening. Targeting mostly Asian tourists, foreign men force bracelets upon naive or culturally gentle visitors and then force payment. It's really uncomfortable to witness. And it's constant. There's a different feeling at this church, compared to others. Neighborhoods Below are partially inhabited with Parisian families, but a strong immigrant presence is noted. Cultural variances are tangible at street level. A must see, but do so early in the morning.

Afar the Sacre-Coeur looks majestic.

Afar the Sacre-Coeur looks majestic.
Up close the pollution buildup on the outer walls disrupt what would have been a good looking church.
