Nice place, main chairlift was closed but other than that it was nice.
Nice place, main chairlift was closed but other than that it was nice.
I went here last Saturday weekend for skiing while prices at times can be expensive I had a great time there spending the whole day there skiing great for learning how to go skiing
Great set up!! But today was too busy and parking is too messy!!!
Great place to go on winter get away with family. Breath catching snow tubing and adventurous hiking trails is a great way to unwind away from the city. Snow boarding and skiing is the most popular attractions among the visitors.
The resort is small compared to others nearby, and many of the trails are closed even in January. The snow is decent.
Good attendance and class to beginners. Who never tried should start here.
Conveniently located, easy to access, friendly and helpful staff (everywhere from the parking lot to the hot chocolate stand), streamlined in-take for ticket and rentals. Overall it's a great experience for young kids and skiers starting out. It doesn't get 5 stars because it's missing what could make it great, like moguls for more advanced skiers (come on, it's not hard to make bumps!)
Skiing is okay, but my son was taken out by a tube at the tube park. The conditions were so fast that tubers would slide over the rubber stopper mats and onto the walkway where riders exit. I noticed one coming towards my group and got out of the way but my son was knocked In the air and did a 360 before landing on his front. The tube was still traveling at a fast rate of speed when my son was struck. Luckily my son clipped from the the side of the tube vs dead on or I'm sure there would be a lawsuit from my end. I asked the two park attendants why they didn't warn us this could happen, they said they saw the incident and he was hit. Explain why he was on the ground and crying? Lol what a joke. Very dangerous!
A great place to learn to ski/snowboard. The hills are quite gentle and family friendly. Because the membership prices are so reasonable, it is often very busy during non-school hours.
If possible, take advantage of a 5x7 pass and enjoy the hills when the kids are in school and adults are working.
Perfect family ski resort. Great place to bring kids (and rusty dads) to learn. Nice easy gentle slopes and tons of friendly staff to help.
If you don't have time to travel very far outside Barrie and are just looking to get out on the skis with family or kids, I'm sure you'll enjoy your time. There is a new building with seating for those who bring their own food. Small hill, short runs, relatively busy, but close to the city. Used to have a seasons pass every year when I was 11-14 y/o and loved it.
I loved Tubing at Snow Valley. The one thing I absolutely didn't like at all was if you go down THE PEAK it's a SUPER LOOOOOONG Way back. There should be a shortcut or maybe a transportation method. Other than that the lines were great too. (Newcomers, you should go up from the other side it's faster and easier to get to. The lines are great there too!!)
Fun day taking the kids for their first skiing lesson. Highly recommend Snow Valley for beginners!
Always a great time skiing at snow valley. All of the staff is very happy and look like they love working there.
Close to Toronto. Tubing is great for kids. Good for beginners for skiing.
Went for night boarding and it was great. Seems like the place is run by teens though, so be prepared to see a lot of them running around.
Great ski and snowboard hill for beginners to learn on various inclines but advanced skiers and snowboarders will get bored easily. This hill seems like it would be great for elementary school ski trips to get kids involved in winter activities. Wi-Fi was notoriously bad in all of the buildings, something that should not be an issue in these modern times, a skilled network technician can easily install an impressive Wi-Fi network here at a reasonable cost, especially because I work remotely, was roaming in this area, and had no data access from my mobile service carrier. The cafeteria food needs more healthy options, people have expanded their tastes beyond burgers, hotdogs, and fries.
Great hills for ski and snowboard. Lots of fun with snow tubbings
Came here with some basic skills for a private lesson, the instructor was friendly, fun, and knew how to push me to the limits. I now feel more confident on the slopes. Thanks.
Great experience. Kids loved it there. You can get big tubes for up to 6 people on Fridays.
Great family friendly ski resort. Awesome tubing hills and fantastic night skiing. Don't forget the warm crackling fire in the chalet while enjoying the restaurant food.
Great backyard local hill. Only problem is the staff/lift attendants/ ski patrol, always harrassing myself and my nephew when minding our own. If staff would chill out and leave us alone, it would be a much better experience.
One of the best place for skiing....lesser wait timings and fast service
I think I saw this resort from Blue mountain's chair lift. Am i correct?
Children love it very much and it is easy to play for a day. I recommend slipping tires.
A fantastic family-oriented ski resort. Great terrain park, and a wide variety of different runs for any age and skill level. Friendly staff, lovely indoor fireplaces and awesome poutine!
Amazing and engaging staff members on and off the hills. Very friendly and always trying to engage the kids. Hills were great for novice and intermediate skiers (didn't try the advanced ones). Great location only 1 hour north of Richmond Hill (GTA area). Will visit again!
The best family ski hill in Ontario. Both of my kids learns there and ski every couple of days. We love it there. Very relaxed and friendly.
Signed up for a snowboard lesson. Instructors were poor and didn't give much direct. One of the two really didn't seem to want to be there.
Only reason I have it two stars instead of one - the price included re talks and 4 hours in the hill.
Smaller resort. Close to highway. Cheaper lift tickets; 2,4,6 hours lift tickets available, can start any time you like. Much less crowded than the bigger resorts. Good casual runs. Family friendly. Friendly staff. Comfortable and lodge themed canteen sitting area c/w several fireplace both indoor and outdoor. Lifts are really SLOW tho.
The ski resort is well-equipped with adequate parking lots. There are a lot of people on winter holidays, but it is not crowded. There are junior, middle and advanced ski resorts, as well as different ski courses to choose from. Men and women coaches are very kind and patient. , And help support the students who fell, but the ski shoes are not big enough, the feet are very painful, and there are facilities for sitting on the air cushion and diving. The speed is super fast and very exciting. The scene is constantly screaming
Only been tubing here lately, but the staff is great and the hills are a perfect balance of fast and fun.
Nice Place. Been once. Now living so close my second home to be.lol
It's a good place where we can do the skiing and snow tubing. The place is open till 9pm. If you are not an experienced skier, u can take lessons before attempting, which are provided at the resort itself. It costs an additional 70$ for that. The tubing is great fun. A good place to have a good time.
Couldn t leave less... unorganized and staff is really rude! Manager was wearing pyjamas.. when I asked to talk to the manager she showed up in her pyjamas and was a careless as the employees
Wednesday night was good not to busy and was bit mild too
Fun place for tubing. Will have to go back to check out the snowboarding and snowshoeing
Pretty decent hill for beginners and intermediates. You do find a LOT of kids - be cautious! Buying tickets online a few days earlier works out to be much cheaper. They also have a good cafeteria/bar.
Snow Valley is a wonderful place for families with young children who are learning to ski. I love the small, quaint, warm feel of this hill. For folks who are just learning, they offer lessons by the main lodge, and they have three different learning slopes that are all linked together, either at the top or the bottom of the runs.
I am passionate about snow tubing, have tried all Tubing facilities in Ontario, This is the best one with full of thrill experience.
Tubing was awesome! So much fun for the entire family! (6 yrs - 46 yrs) we will be back
Great place to go with kids for ALL ages, my kids love it, very entertaining for adults as well, cool stuff to do with bigger groups as well.
Great hills. Great place to have family fun. Chalet (food, rest & washrooms) right beside the tubing slope which make it so convenient. Kids zone for those 42 below is just in front of chalet. Slope gets you about 45km/hr sledding. That s allot of speed for Adrenalin fun. They have tube stoppers at the end so it s safe. Parking is free. Check their web for daily pricing. Little less choices for food but enough to get by for a fun day. You can bring your own food and leave it on a table inside chalet. Big slope has tube lift. Sit on your tube and lift will drag you individually off to the peak. No lift for kids zone.
I see good slopes for ski and snow boarding. We were not able to try as we end up having so much fun with our son with their family size tube and single tubes.
So fun and easy I like how you get to learn sking its fun
I love this resort. This resort has the best beginner and novice facilities I've ever seen. There's three gentle beginner slopes in well designed incremental difficulties. The full size hills are fairly short, but high quality, offering a variety of terrain challenges from easy to intermediate. They are well designed, well maintained and make the best use of what is a pretty small hill. We went during the week, so there were minimal wait -times at any lift, despite the place being fairly busy. One chair lift is modern, but the others are pretty old, but work fine. The staff were all pleasant and attentive. They are vigilant about maintaining safe operation. I loved the main lodge, its straight out of the 1950's. Very cozy and quaint with open fireplaces, but well equipped and comfortable.
Dislikes? The hill is pretty small, even by modest Ontario resort standards. . Beautiful runs, but they end too soon. The was only one person selling lift tickets. She very pleasant, patient and friendly, but obviously overworked. They needed a second person selling lift tickets, in the mornings.
If you're an intermediate or expert skier, or if you dislike quaint old surroundings, you'll hate this place. But if you're a beginner/ novice, you'll love it. I brought my 11 year old son here. Blue Mountain absolutely terrified him, but this resort was so pleasant, easy and friendly it helped him learn, and he now loves skiing. For that reason I love this resort and am most grateful for it.
I took my son snow tubing at SV and we had a fantastic time! We had so much fun barreling down the run on our tubes. Awesome way to spend time with your family on a beautiful winters day.
Snow tubing here is so much fun. Great for taking kids out.
Love going to this place. They make it very user friendly and have great staff
Fun time. But no signs telling you where snow showing is.
Came for tubing during March break. The kids had an awesome time. The long lines moved through quickly, and the staff members were all extremely friendly and polite. We'll definitely come back next year.
Great family fun. Close to the GTA. Good for new to skiing
My wife and I really liked it. We went for snowshoeing and tubing, and it was fabulous. We definitely recommend it :)
I love it! It s great fun for family and friends and the staff are so nice. One time some kid pushed me down the hill before I could come down and they were totally fine about it!
At snow valley they have great hills but I can t say that about the chair lifts. They let all of their people like the kids village go first.( priority) today because of this I waited half hour in line when there wasn t that many people.
Great family resort. Staff are helpful, friendly, and great with the kids.
Everyone seems to xome here for the tubing.... oh.... Best tubing around!!!!!
I like be ski and Snow Valley Ski resort is perfect spot
Amazing place to learn how to ski/ride, their kids ski school programs are very well organized and run. The hill itself is on the small side even by Ontario standards and there are no high speed detachable lifts (just classic fixed chairs). The snow is generally well maintained. Intermediate and advanced skiers will not be challenged other resorts in the area would be the better choice for them.
Nice small place. Good for beginners. Food is on the expensive side.
We were in 9 people, being 3 adults and 6 children from 12 to 6 years old. EVERYONE enjoyed themselves.
We bought passes for 60 decisions to share for all and this cost us approximately 235 Canadian dollars already with the rates.
Chosen to float according to size (there are smaller buoys for small children) we went to test the toboggans.
To climb to the top an employee hooks a rope from the float into a hook that pulls us up there.
Arriving at the top, you can choose from the tracks on the left, less steep and slower or those on the right, steeper and much faster. In all they have places to go alone or with two buoys together.
We chose the ones on the left to get started and she is very fast, she reached 55Km / h with me alone.
In the right lane the emotion is stronger and reaches 69km / h, but even the 6 year olds that were with me were in that.
For younger children there is a toboggan nearby which is quite small.
After the fun we went to the closed part where the reception and restaurant is and had a hot chocolate.
Amazing place to learn to ski! Instructors are great and welcoming! Programs and private lessons available for all ages.
Great place to bring kids that are not too experienced! Staff are helpful an friendly. Trails are kept in good condition. At times it can be a little busy with inexperienced skiers, but good value for the price.
Prices are pretty expensive especially for the food. But the hills are always decent and the tubing is fun... Love the Fire pits to warm up and the donut stop !
Very good for beginners compared with horseshoe valley. If you are beginner, you can start with highland trail, then snoopy the Garfield and family. The equipment can be better though
It's a public hill, but seems more like a private one. Very nice runs at this place. It's Ontario, so you're not going to get mountains. But if you accept that, this place is great. The chalet is beautiful, too. They've got a really cozy area beside the cafeteria with two wood-burning fireplaces, which was a pleasant surprise.
Love it!
I had been coming here for 5 years. There s a lot to like here...chalet is amazing with 2 wood-burning fireplaces and acceptable cafeteria and bar. The hills are ideal for beginners like me...they have several runs that any beginner to intermediate skier can enjoy. Their bunny hills are long and there are 2 of them. Most of all, it s a short drive from Toronto. I must also say, they charged me only 5 dollars for an anytime pass!!! Because I was born in 1967!!! They even refunded me the regular price I earlier paid for the day after I registered for their promotion. That s good business practice indeed! May other businesses follow your lead. More success!!!
Fun little ski resort for the family. Tubing is fun and the staff is great.
My wife and children really liked it. Great place for walking and spending time in winter time. The atmosphere is friendly and sociable. There is a parking for cars and there is also a special parking for disabled ... There is a toilet male and female separately ... There is a buffet with a variety of high-quality food for every taste and size. There is a Free WiFi connection to the Internet ... I recommend visiting the service at the level of ...
We went to this location for family day .
The drive was pretty good , an hour from Woodbridge .
Once we arrived we found the site to be hectic .
The parking lot was overfull and the guests were having difficuties getting in and getting out .
The cars were parked on both side of a single lane
road.
We had three cars and had hard time fusing parking .Once we found parking , we lined up outside for more than 3 hours . We were so tempted so many times to just to go back down and many people walked out of line .
It was freezing outside .
We rooms took the kids and took them to the second floor to get some food and it was over crowed .
We lined up for 20 minutes to orde fast food and when I made a comment to my partner the girl behind the counter made a smart comment thinking I was talking to her. I told her I wasn't speaking to her and she walked away which was very rude.
Once we finally got in through the door we discovered the issue was the staff . They were not operating like a cookie cutter operation . They were really slow .
We finally paid and bought 30 tickets for 12 of us because we didn't have enough time .
The runs were operating quite rapidly and the slops were fun for the kids.
I would not go there again if we had to experience what we did yesterday .
It's not worth it .
When your hot you should treat your customers with respect .
They had a outdoor fire place without anyone taking care of it .
This place simply doesn't care ....
Until you change , I rather go elsewhere
