The quality and variety of the costumes are awesome. I used to buy so-so quality costume online and wear it only once. Figured I could spend the same amount and get a much better and more fun outfit.
The staff is also friendly and gave me great suggestions on what to add to the alien space queen look.
And it worked! I won the best costume at the party!
You'd be mad to go anywhere else to get a costume than Snog the Frog Surry Hills. Melanie is the master of disguise!
Very friendly staff and good selection. This was my first costume hire in Sydney and I was a bit shocked at how expensive it was but I visited another store which was about the same so I assume it must be the norm. Ridiculously cute dog wandering around the store was a bonus!

Snog The Frog has a huge range of great costumes to buy and rent. More importantly, it has exceptionally friendly and helpful staff who 'get' that most people turn up with only a vague idea of what they want to hire. I rocked up with just a single letter to go on; my costume had to begin with the first letter of my name. Mel spent over half an hour with me, getting inventive and creative, patching together unique options from lots of different outfits, pulling them out and not letting me get discouraged when they didn't work out. Some of the other staff - and even customers - pitched in with ideas and comments. Off the shelf support network!
I ended up hiring part of one outfit and buying a few cheap accessories to make it work. Postman Pat rocked the house that night! Appreciate all your help, STF!!

I use Snog The Frog all the time mostly @ Halloween. Their costumes were great and it was so much fun in the Surry Hills store and they were able to costume most of our partygoers at such a busy time. The staff were so friendly and i enjoyed that they dressed up with us and helped keep the task fun cause costume shopping can be so boring and laborious and this was exactly the opposite. I have also used them online and just booked a costume and picked it up and it was perfect for the occasion.I love their assortment and they are well kept and clean and cheaper than most costume stores online and outlets and trust me i have used many a costume shop one particular that used to be on Crown street and needed a good dusting!

First visit to Snog the Frog last week and I was super-impressed. Mel was very helpful in putting together a costume for a colleague to wear at a sales meeting while pitching to a client. He looked the part as the costume was good quality, it went down a treat and he won the deal. I'll be back to make use of the 2-4-1 deal on Tuesdays myself when I next have a fancy dress party coming up!

I received the best customer service I have ever experienced from Melanie at Snog the Frog. Due to a problem with a 3rd party supplier my item didn t turn up and was then no longer available. Melanie proceeded to source the product and not only that, but found 3 for me to choose from! I could not recommend this business and Melanie more highly.

Please note that I am reviewing the BONDI JUNCTION shop, not the Surry Hills shop.
Last night, my sister-in-law and I went to to this costume shop in the hopes of finding a 70s theme duo costume for a birthday. The night before, my SIL called the shop and the lady there (Tori) told her that she would definitely be able to help us and that although the shop closes at 6, she would be expecting us and she would help us.
As we we had to go post work, we got there at about 5:40 and Tori was about as helpful as a dry sponge. She moved very slowly with another customer and by the time she got to us it was about 5:50. She then got some Abba costumes for us but mine didn't fit. She rolled her eyes when I asked if there was a bigger size, and when we asked for her suggestions on other costumes, she told us that we could look it up online and sort of gestured to the computer on the counter.
We started to do that and we found something else (Ab Fab 70s dresses). But by this time it was 5:58 and she said they were closing in two minutes. We said ok, but can we try it on anyway? We thought, 'Ok, not ideal, but we can try on quickly and one of us can come back tomorrow, when the shop is open to pick them up and pay.' She straight up IGNORED that question and started helping someone else-I guess the shop was only closing only for us.
We stood there while she continued to help the other people until it was 6:10 and we decided to get out of there.
Tori was so rude that I am now VERY happy to give my business elsewhere and I will never go to the Bondi Snog the Frog again!
Best costume/event shop in Sydney. The women working at this shop are incredible. I'm a total convert now as someone who never used to like dress-up events given the energy required trying to source everything last minute. Here, you just walk in with a concept and they work their magic - pulling different options till you're happy. Not to brag, but I had about 10 people stop me on Mardi Gras complimenting me on my look which made the night even more amazing. Thanks Snog The Frog!

Fantastic range of costumes and great location close to central station (change rooms to test stuff too). I hired mine which was great, but also saw plenty of good stuff in there to purchase outright. Friendly return policy for hired stuff - hired on a Friday, not due back until Monday. Thanks team!

Great service - amazingly helpful and fun experience and always very helpful on pulling a look together. Ive been to lots of dress up parties and this is my go too place for all the events due to the selection, service and can do attitude.
Pretty good customer service and they have a wide range of costumes.
Some need a good fix up but other than that, the guys there help you build what you are looking for.
I have used Snog The Frog numerous times and would highly recommend them to anyone. I use the Surry Hill shop and Mel goes over and beyond. Last time, I rang up ahead of going in and Mel had already taken a few costumes out and had some great ideas.
Last year, my football club had our end of season trip away. We always have a theme for the flight up to Byron. Always classic to see 30 blokes all dressed up in costume. Last years theme was "Rock Stars" and nearly half the guys used Snog The Frog. We had an Elvis (me) a few glam rock stars and a hand full of Axle Roses. I dare say this year, everyone will use Snog The Frog.

I needed a costume for a fancy dress party a few weeks ago. I couldn't be more happy with my experience at Snog the Frog. I was pretty clueless about what I wanted for the party but the girl at the store was very helpful and gave me some great costume ideas. The selection was very good and all the gear was high quality. I would definitely recommend checking this out next time you need to dress up!

I went in with the strangest request for a "funky formal" outfit and was given multitude of equally awesome options to wear. Mel was incredibly helpful and even through in a few accessories for free. The hire for my whole outfit was only $45! as opposed to the $150 I was quoted at another costume hire shop. A very happy customer!

While working with Deni Hines on a tour for the 'Dusty the Musical', we needed to get our hands on some great sixties costumes that would also be original.
We came into contact with Snog The Frog, and asked if they would be able to create these for us. We needed them to be stand out, s they were also a large part of the show.
We had contact with the Surry Hills store, and they created consumes, that were not only incredible to look at but also handled the pressure of being work every day, travelling and sometimes being worn for two shows!
They also made any changes or alterations (for performance use) of our asking without any hesitation.
It was personally my first time at using a Costume Shop for anything, and was SO impressed by the services that I would always recommend them if anyone I knew needed a fun, hassle free delve into the world of fantasy where you can dress as who you would like.

Went to the Surrey hills store 3-4 years ago and was in love with my purchase + all the options I had. Went there yesterday, there was barely any costumes up for purchase. When waiting in line to enquire about whether we could order some costumes, the lady rudely dismissed us and starting helping another customer. When she finally got to us she was so belittling and patronising + not helpful whatsoever.
I will never shop, nor recommend a place with such rude staff.
The (to-hire) costumes were also quite dirty and old. If you're going to charge so much to hire out costumes, at least give them a wash and perhaps get new stock in after a while??
The shop is pretty small but possibility to rent costumes. Accessories are nice but bit expensive if you wear it once !
I visited this Costume Shop in Bondi Junction and had such bad service, and the costume was worse than ALL my friends who got theirs at the two dollar shop. I would never go again.

Excellent service here. The staff were super helpful and suggested things to add to our costume to make them more fun. My Cyndi Lauper was fabulous and my husband's leopard print suit (with a nod to Bryan Ferry) was awesome.
