Smiling Moose Bar and Grill Reviews

We're visiting from out of town, and the Moose is a great spot for spending a few hours. The menu is quite a few notches above standard bar fare and the bartender was so attentive and pleasant.

This is such a nice place. Food is good and reasonable. Great bartenders. Live music with some of the best bands in the state.

After a great ride up 42 lunch at the Smiling Moose was a perfect way to celebrate the day.

The buffalo burger was scrumptious! Definitely will return when in the area.

Regarding catering- would not recommend. We received her name from my now husbands coworker, so decided to contact her to cater our wedding, and felt confident to hire her.
After exchanging multiple phone calls and text messages, we had a plan. I was asking about doing a fish boil (she said we could) and was then trying to set up a taste testing (which she said we could do). Then, she just ghosted us. Stopped responding to texts, never returned phone calls. We gave her too long to respond, then obviously we went with someone else. How terrible. Wedding planning is stressful enough, then you have a main vendor just up and ghost you. Terrible customer service.

While it's a little off the beaten path it is well worth the drive for the quantity as well as the quality of the breakfast. While I did not try the burgers I had a chance to sample the walleye platter and it was delicious. I highly recommend it.

The waitress was very friendly, helpful and on top of things. The perch dinner was very good. The mini moose was delicious. I was quite disappointed with the veggie sampler basket. Many of the items were over cooked. On some the breading was overcooked but the centers were cold.

Mega Chicago dog is awesome. Better than Chicago. Excellent lake perch too.

Good food, great price and fun place for live music. Hopefully covid will be a thing of the past, soon!

This is classic Wisconsin tavern. The perch sandwiches were good, if a little heavy on the tartar. Fries are also quite good, but be sure to order them on the side, as they don't come with the sandwich. The Capital Amber on tap sported a little funk to the taste, possibly from lines needing a quick clean. On my visit for lunch on a Friday, the bartender was quite difficult, making the experience frustrating. Credit goes to the owner of the establishment, as she recognized this and told me it would be addressed. It sounds like this definitely isn't the norm.

Went on a Thursday night. Fast service with a full bar :) We had wings, sandwiches, and an appetizer. The wings weren't too hot, but they are best known for their sandwiches. We will def. be going back more this summer!
