As a parent it's important to judge the school on certain parameters. Nothing comes easily I agree, especially money. But don't go by what others say. Ask them to take you around the school and give an orientation to the school. They definitely need to cope with attrition of teachers. Here there are good highly qualified teachers, supporting and working together for the better development of a child. I highly recommend the school to all those who wish to give their kids the best IB education. It teachs everything you can expect a child needs to learn to make a better tomorrow and be more independent.

If you are looking for a school to send your students to in Muscat, send them to TAISM. ABA is trash. Students are ignorant, faculty are abusive & facilities are subpar compared to other schools. Do not come to this school, you will regret it.

After being in the school for a year you start to realize the flaws in the school. Lacks many facilities especially for the handicapped as well as other necessary features to have a successful school.

I have attended ABA for a grand total of 2 years, between the years of 2013 and 2015. I completed my IB diploma programme there and successfully attained the ABA high school diploma. Overall the school has a solid academic background, teachers are qualified and have a capable understanding of the subject matter they teach. A certain maths teacher is the best teacher in the school by far. Overall the banter levels in the school are medium and high on some days (rarely).

I have been at this school for about 8-9 years now and it is one of the best schools I have ever felt like I would ever be in. So many different types of nationalities from around the world. Its great!

My family was very welcomed by all aspects of the school. It is a community that cares for its students and families. The school should be applauded for the way its handled the COVID outbreak. Through out it all, we've had the choice of keeping our kids at home for online (live, interactive) classes or on campus. The communication has been excellent.

This school has gone to the dogs after the change in administration from Mona Nashman Smith. A certain Economics and TOK teacher for the IBDP called Samuel Werlinich should have been fired. He was pathetic at his job, put in 0 effort and only complained about the working conditions at the school. Students, especially in Economics had to teach themselves the whole syllabus on their own. Unless and until you press him and force him to teach by asking questions he doesn't teach which is not the right attitude for a teacher to have considering schools have students of various learning capabilities. And even when he is forced to teach his methods only suit fast learners and don't benefit ordinary students. He is also a petty person in general and is known to have harassed students because of personal grudges and fights with them.

Seriously? ABA is great for the big headed, arrogant, not-very-bright and extremely annoying kids. But never fear, there are better schools for you if you do not fit this description (or were tricked into joining ABA), better schools like BSM.

Wish I could give it 0 stars. Horrible school, went there for grades 9 and 10. Suffered abuse and bullying from teachers (specifically 1 - Paul Brace) in front of other students. Terrible facilities. Do not send your children here - especially young girls, as the faculty do not care about targeted bullying or harassment from other students (or faculty, as stated above).

If i could have i would've given this school 0 stars because i have been in this school for more than 9 year unfortunately and I have seen this school transform from a fun and friendly place with great teachers and a great superintendent but now I feel that the school cares more about how much money they're getting above everything since we now have to pay more for trips that are COMPULSORY which have been increased drastically in price for example adventure Oman trip grade 6 was 45 OMR (116.88 USD) is now 70 OMR (181.82 USD) and they still have the EXACT same plan as before and the same equipment as before. The fairs and activities (Christmas fair, flee market, Halloween parties etc.) don't have the same fun spirit as before and don't look as inviting and exciting as they used to be (as if there wasn't much thought gone into it.) As well as that the teachers who used to be more informative (teacher's from past years) have all left and the teachers that have arrived are all a lot harder to learn from and don't seem to really care about what they teach us but instead care about our tests without given us the proper teaching so many of us feel unprepared.

This school is not what it used to be! We will be taking our children out of the school next year and moving to TAISM. Over the last two years I have seen this school die in spirit and warm atmosphere. None of our children are happy here anymore. ABA is supposed to be a non-profit school, but all they seem to care about now are fees fees fees! They are still using 10 year old laptops and there aren't enough laptops for a class! We are paying a lot for this school and we are fed up. 7 of my children's best teachers are leaving this year. This new Superintendent is not the same caliber of the old superintendent... he does not have the same vision or people skills and most parents not happy. Before you move your children to this school, make sure you talk to current parents instead of relying on old reviews!

There are good thing, and bad things like for ever...

There are good thing, and bad things like for everything in this life.
Obv it is easy, plus..minus, do the math and decide if you move on or stay. And so we did. We moved on.

We feel that there is a lot of marketing behind the IB WORLD SCHOOL slogan, but if you go in details all is shallow and school resembles more with volume aimed business rather than a school. Like go go go, enroll enroll enroll, invoice invoice invoice. Happy days.
All the systems are in place, all the structures are in place but if you look for deeper stuff than good morning and good bye, like let's say..for answers to your questions or concerns, you will knock on closed doors with busy people that will send you home to..hey..send us an email and we will reply and nobody will actually reply because, nobody actually cares. But miss an invoice and someone will email you :), don;t worry about that.

No really oriented towards the real world, or listening to real problems and taking decisions with the aim to make things better and better for the kids. All is superficial, and the act of education is not impartial and fair or at least this was how we've felt it.
Parking and access to the school are problematic since the school is placed at the end of a narrow street, a dead end basically so traffic is a bit of a problem while doping/picking up the youngsters to school. Don't want to think about evacuation in case of emergency. I am sure that is covered anyway.

On the other hand,
As a good point, the invoices and reminders for payment are sent in time and you will not miss any payment term.

I was in ABA all my life. I only left around a year ago but no matter to what school i got to i'll never forget what this school has taught me throughout my life. It taught me real life requirments which has helped me with everything. The environment of love and culture in the school has helped me become an open-minded human being. The teachers and students taught me to be a principled, risk-taker, and a balanced student for the rest of my life and what really made it touch me were the friendly students and teachers I met there. Which makes ABA the best school in the whole wide world!!!
