Gave these guys 5 star 3 weeks ago. I guess I was excited by the price but as I sit on a low score with mild threats of cancellation on my app,I laugh because its not my speed no. Its because I've been out later than 11pm in my car once or twice a week. Reminds me of the whole be home by 11pm Latest!!No mum I'm a grown man I can drive safely after 11pm. I have a large social circle so should I say guys let's kill it at 9.30pm because I have to be home by 11pm. Why wasn't I told clearly about this. I see a law suit. Anyhow still a young company let's see how they treat me

Offered me the cheapest quote which is great and the extra benefits of the service is also good.. but unfortunately the accuracy of the black box is awful, either this or their drivings expectations are incredibly stupid. I have absolutely ensured I stick to speed limits and concentrated on less breaking and no harsh breaking but it still rates me as a 'bad' driver, I am now at the point where I am driving 5 - 10mph below speed limits and leaving a ridiculous gap to avoid breaking - only now is it finally improving. Part of me wishes I had just renewed with Aviva.

Worst customer service.

May be a good price but not worth it when you actually have an accident and need to claim on your insurance. They use a 3rd party customer service called Action 365.

I placed an official complaint with them after a month of my claim, when they had lost my cctv of my accident showing I wasn't at fault. After 8 weeks I chased my complaint and they admitted they never esculated my complaint. Now 12 weeks on they are ignoring my complaint and I have no idea if my claim is being looked into.

*** AVOID AT ALL COSTS *** the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with!! I only took the policy out as I have two cars and this was my second car that I hardly drive. Most days it s parked up if not for weeks! They sent me an email saying they have been monitoring my driving and I m high risk because I brake too much and I drive after 11pm! Then the next morning without any notice send me a cancellation letter! How ridiculous can they be it s just petty and any excuse to cancel your policy. I have now taken out another policy without a black box and at the same price so there is no value for money really when all you do is just get penalised for occasionaly going out after 11pm and braking because u have some idiot driver in front of you that doesn t know how to drive. I mean don t they think people have a life and shouldn t go out after 11pm because it will make them a high risk driver? If you want to drive your car at what ever time you want then please do not go with this insurance as it s just one big scam

This company is a scam, they say that by using the black box you will get a discount on your renewal. After a year they would not even offer me a renewal quote, when my score was above 70.

I think they make everyone use the blackbox so that they can refuse to payout on policy if there was an accident.
The customer service is poor, you will be waiting for 20-30min to talk to someone.

I sold my car at the weekend so no longer need insurance- I've been trying to contact SDC ever since... I've sat on hold, requested call backs and after being on hold for 15mins + yesterday finally got through to a human... who said he was from the overflow team and basically could do nothing other than take my name and number to call me back. So in the interim I am left paying for insurance I don't need. As predicted, no one called me back. If you want a company that actually provides customer service, don't bother! Kinza Barrett.

Was with with Smartdriver insurance for 2 years and was very pleased. Came to renew in June 2019 and informed them that previous points had now expired but I got 3 points for doing 35 in a 30mph in Jan 2019. Was informed that they have declined to insure me! Apparently their insurance company Pukka Insurance deemed me to be an unacceptable risk - even though I have not had any points for last 5 years. The 'computer says no' - so that's that ! No common-sense being applied.

Purchased the insurance from smart-driver club - three months later I've received a letter through the post stating that my insurance will be cancelled in 7 days - as i have gone over my annual mileage - however i did not do any excess mileage ; it was a systematical error. I'd suggest not to purchase car insurance with this company as they do not value their customer - they even charged me a cancellation fee and a insurance non-refundable fee as i changed my insurance to another company.

Please beware of this company. They will find any small excuse to void your policy when you need them most. They cancelled my policy after my car was stolen from outside my house and said that you are not the registered keeper(Not owner) and you have not told us that so we have void your insurance policy and won't pay a penny despite the fact hat i have been with them for 3 years and we kept renewing without hesitation. I have recently purchase a black box insurance ( which I previously had with admiral and there was no problem). I was unable to connect the smart plugthat they sent to me as my v12 doesn t work properly so I have decided to cancel my policy. Upon my cancellation I was informed that I will receive a letter with a breakdown of my refund within 7-10 working days. I have not heard anything!! I then had to call to find out what is the status of my refund and was told by one of the colleague that s she will investigate this and give me a call back. Of course no one called me so I have called again and was told the same thing.

It s now been over 2 weeks and there s no money to be seen!!

Worst experience ever. Joined because gave me cheapest quote but quickly regretted it. I was happy and understood it is a black box policy and this did not bother me because I been with admiral for last few years with same type of insurance and had no issues. From the offset kept getting threatening emails about installing smart plug or my insurance was going to be cancelled when it was installed and confirmed by there customer service team. Then endless threatening emails about my driving being very bad even though app just said need more data because just joined and I always drive in speed limit and never had an accident. I had enough of there threats so cancelled in 14 day cool off window and went back to my old insurer who also now beaten them on price and without black box . And after all this still getting harassed off them with calls and emails threatening me with charges and legal action for not reporting a car crash to them that not even happened and that has allegedly happened after I sent plug back to them and cancelled days earlier so not even my insurance company. There customer service team could not even explain this and said the plug is sending them this information how can it be sending them the information if it not even in my car or possession and have confirmed they have it and sent me my refund cheque? This company is appauling have no words, there staff are unprofessional, rude and inconsiderate. Avoid. This company have just cancelled my policy on the date it was due. I contacted then to makw payment the same week as i could not get through other days. I explained the situation and sent them ecidence of the calls and my policy which states my payment days to have no response. They cancelled my policy on a Saturday when thwrw offices closed at 1pm. In light of current lockdown circumstances where you cannot even use your car as you would! Not a single thing has been pit in place due to the pandemic and they are still in work as i called the office. Digusting should be ashamed to work for a company so disrespectful! Tje team leader was so rude I have put in a complaint!

Really puts the shackles on driving it was like being on you driving test always looking at the Speedo. You will be harassed by phone calls from the insurer telling you the will cancel and the app will show you how bad you are at driving.

Not had my policy long but cannot fault thw company in any way so helpful, had an issue with not receiving a black box contacted the company and they sent another recieved with no issues was quite concerned as policy is meant to be void if black box is not put in but they helped so much everythings now as it should be

Terrible company. I've had insurance with them for over a year with no complaints whatsoever and then out of the blue they decided to cancel my insurance, citing risky driving. This is because maybe once a week I drive after 11pm and occasionally go over the speed limit by a few mph. They claim that they're all about leniency but clearly not. I tried to call them and was kept on hold. After 20 minutes on hold I gave up. Called back later and was kept on hold again. When the call was finally answered they had nothing to say but the decision was final.
Unless you're a weekend driver who never does more than 20mph, I would suggest you stay away from this company.

Bad experience with smartdriverclub. Not consumer friendly. Had multiple problems before and after starting my policy with them. Was cheaper than others to begin with but ended up paying more. Not worth it. I do agree with the other reviews. Sorry to say this but I would not advised new customer to join.

They wouldn't let me use my payment details to continue my insurance even though i'd been with them for a while, but would gladly accept them to pay the cancellation fee's, I tried to call them and the finance broker they use multiple times but to no success, I received an email from one of there representatives informing me of having to pay a cancellation fee, I tried to ask them why they wouldn't accept my payment to continue my policy but accept them to pay the cancellation fee and they just blocked my messages.
Not only did I find other insurance, but cheaper and without a black box.

This company is the best insurance I have been with, since I had started driving. Their polite, respectful, helpful, as well as have their customers satisfactory at heart. Matt who works in the department as an advisor has been an absolute godsend for me, advising me, and talking on my behalf. Would I recommend this insurance company for drivers or first time drivers? Of course 100%.

I took out my insurance with Smart driver club as I thought fantastic price.

Now to sign up to Smart Driver Club you must go through a finance group (close brothers), which I thought bit weird but still went ahead going against my better judgment.

Once I signed up I received letter stating that the company requested my V5, drivers license and proof of no claims.

I sent of what was required.

On the 15th day I came into my office to find a voice mail on my phone... it was a voicemail from Smart Driver Club stating they have cancelled my insurance... no reason no letter no notice no nothing.

I called up to find out why this was and was told the insurance group who Smart driver club represent (Pukka) had looked into my background and seen I had been cancelled and to then cancel my policy immediately. If I had of been contacted and notified I would have been able to explain it was me that had cancelled the previous insurance...

On smart driver club cancellation policy it states that 7 days notice is given to anyone if their policy becomes voided.
I was never given this and when I challenged Smart Driver club about this I was met with we have to do what Pukka says .... even if it means voiding their policy! Well done.

Now guys please keep this in mind when you sign up to Smart driver club you also sign up to multiple insurance groups that they represent!



Guys don t sign up to a company with more middle men than you ve had Sunday dinners, always make sure the company you insure with is a stand alone company and not these Cowboys!

Actually look at the amount of different insurance groups that are representing someone else in the small print!!!!!

You requested my documents I sent my documents. And you cancelled on the basis of a previous cancellation that was done by myself.
In regards to disclosing information of conversations between myself and your staff on a public review site I will be contacting the correct bodies for legal action and screenshot this for proof.
But the emails (or lack of) plus your cancellation by voicemail.

Unefficient at it's best. I still haven't been issued my refund. Was told the cheque was sent on 1s tNovemeber and nothing has arrived and it 14th ot Nov. Advisor don't seem to know what's happening. Been chasing everyday and no one seem to bother resolving my issue and getting hold of the sales seems like impossible. Had been on hold for hour plus.

If you take the time to read most of the 1 star ratings you will quickly realise the company was (mainly) not at fault. I've recently had a claim in and was transferred to the underwriter (axa) who have been great. Scores a little harshly for night time driving so if you drive a lot at night then consider this. Otherwise go for it cheap on price but not on service. Unfortunately my second year premium was lower elsewhere otherwise I'd have stayed with them. Actual rating would be 4 star but gave 5 to make up for the people rating at 1.

Terrible company. Cancelled my policy when my car was being repaired in the garage despite keeping them updated. They took a payment on the same day that they cancelled my policy.
Numerous calls made to try and rectify but told that I couldn t resume my policy and would have to take out a new one but that as a goodwill gesture they would waive the cancellation fee!!!
Took 1 hour on the phone today to get them to accept their mistakes and set up a new policy without paying a deposit just so that I could legally drive my car home from the garage. I had to speak to a manager to get this agreed.
I have just checked to see my insurance status and I m still showing as uninsured.
Absolutely useless and not worth the money that you save.
