lovely to be back cant wait for restaurant to be open but staff in shop were lovely and bought some goodies to tide me over

The best hot meat and potato pie I have ever tasted.

Wow, what a cake..... not cheap but well worth it. Beautiful looking AND tasting cake, you choose the design and flavour, very accommodating and helpful.

Although parking is the only let down, the car park was full when we arrived and we had to find an alternative. I had a lovely lunch here with my mum and a friend. I had a bbq chicken ciabatta and mum and friend had jacket potato. We also had the chocolate tasting plate, cake tasting plate and the marshmallows and strawberry kebabs for desert. They were all divine! I took home a few bits and bobs from the shop too, the lemon cake they sell was also beautiful. A lovely place, I just wish we lived a bit closer! I will definitely visit again when I'm in the area.

I was really looking forward to the afternoon tea here, as the reviews I'd seen were excellent. I didn't find it great....the sandwiches were fresh, nicely cut, but nothing special. The cakes were unfortunately very ordinary, with an abundance of Slatterys own chocolate (which I didn't like at all, very cheap tasting). The one bright point was the excellent coffee. The staff were cheerful and polite, and the booking service was quick.

I went today with my mum, the manager was amazing and very polite and understood my fussiness and replaced my food so it fitted my standards. All the rest of the waitresses was very professional but they need to learn how to smile abit more. Other than that fantastic service and fantastic food!

Ive had a few cakes from here that I've ordered. 2 birthday cakes,cupcakes and christening cake. They are absolutely fantastic. The skill is unbelievable and not only do they look great they taste great top. They make them exactly how you want them. Never disappointed. The shop is incredible too...totally spoilt for choice

Fabulous, the staff were so kind and helpful, food, drinks excellent.

Great food. Expensive but worth it. Would like to go back and try their food menu rather than the cakes/desserts. Need to book as it gets very busy and we had to book 4 weeks in advance to secure a table for 2 on a Saturday. Parking is poor with only a handful of spaces available.

Fantastic cakes. You have to travel a long way to get better in my opinion. The home made chocolates look good but aren't as great as high street equivalents.

My wife and I were so disappointed. The hot chocolate had no chocolate. The cheesecake was bland and tasteless, definitely not made fresh. There was no place to sit. Their steak pie gave us both heartburn. The prices were steep too. Won't be writing home about this place or recommending it to anyone or going back.

We have always used slattery for our special occasions...and we are never dissapointed...there are allot of people doing cakes but no one does cakes like slattery.

From birthday parties to weddings beautiful tasting fresh fruits and flowers if you have an idea they have the answer.

I took my team here for a lunch out, we were seen to quickly. The building is clean and laid out as such that before you eat you can watch the professionals at work making cakes and chocolate goods which is a nice touch. The shop on the ground floor is worth a visit in its own right as that was also superb. The savory menu is quality but I know Slatterys because the desserts they produce are next level. The chocolate challange is deffo a 2 person job!

Absolutely beautiful shop. Walking around and looking at all the different items is an experience in its own. Only downfall is they are quite expensive, if they were cheaper would actually BUY from here regularly... instead of at most a couple gift bars a year for Christmas..

On this occasion I was left a little disappointed by the service I know they are always so very busy but the food was great standard as always.
We waited 35 mins for our drinks to come, then when they did the coffee was wrong they brought another one but that was also wrong.
After meal we asked for desert menu and waited 20 mins for that after asking a second time.

A bit disappointed like a cattle market, no atmosphere poor service. Won't be going again...

I live in London after moving away from my childhood home in Manchester. Every time I return home the trip isn't complete without a browse, and cheeky purchase, of Slatterys offerings.

The staff are extremely knowledgeable about their range and they characterise the good Northern charm! I haven't had a chocolate product that didn't just melt in the mouth resulting in heavenly bliss.

When I was 15 I did a GCSE Business Project on this place and met John Slattery. It's clear to see that his passion is as strong today as it ever was.

Cakes were naughty but very nice, very busy though and very hard to park near.

Decent afternoon tea. The chocolate desserts and hot chocolate are particularly good.

At Masons for mediocre sandwich & nice chocolate cake.Took away a very disappointing M/cr tart. Overrated ???

What can you say about Slatterys? Superb. Lovely staff, high standard of food, beautiful place, and don't get me started on the chocolate..........

The best in the North West. Amazing cakes, pies etc, brilliant cafe as well.

Went for the chocolate challenge and it's certainly a challenge. But amazing quality chocolate to be found here, staff were all very friendly and helpful. Will definitely return for a more normal lunch some day soon and will certainly require more of that hot chocolate.

Chocolate to die for but the food isn't the best 5 stars for chocolate 3 stars for the food it's ok but nothing amazing .

Book in advance or be prepared for a wait.

The wait, however, is worthwhile... amazing food, great coffee and tea selection and the afternoon tea isn't over-priced for the quality.

They even gave my mum a box for the sandwiches and cakes we couldn't manage to polish off whilst there.

Great choice for cakes and breads plus a good restaurant and a nice atmosphere .

The breakfast menu was absolutely fantastic, the food was hot, delicious and plenty of it. The staff were attentive, friendly and courteous. The premises were aesthetically pleasing, relaxing and impeccably clean. The selection of goods in the shop were mind blowing and of the highest quality. Everything in Slatterys is first rate top quality, you won't be disappointed whether it's a loaf of artisan bread or afternoon tea.

Staff are very polite and the food is great. We couldn't have asked for more.

Hard to put into words, Delicious food, amazing shop , just make sure anyone who visits has a pocket full of money as so much to choose from . 2nd visit but won't be my last

I love Slattery's. I've been coming here since I was a teenager, when it was across the road. Now it is in a beautiful, prominent location and a place I regularly visit to buy delicious treats or have a little something a special in the restaurant.

I always feel so happy in here: a beautiful and well stocked shop with loads to look and plenty of things to take home. And in the restaurant I feel special, you know? I know it's just great customer service, but when I go, they smile, they make sure you have everything you need and seem to go the extra mile to ensure your visit was lovely.

This is a true gem in the area. A must visit.

It offers everything you expected, beautiful food, especially an incredible cake selection! Its popularity makes car parking slight issue but well worth going.

Our food tasted/felt like it was cake mix bought in a store.

Divine. This is a cake makers paradise and a cake eaters heaven. The food is beautiful, so is the service. Worth going out of your way to experience but book first - it's popular

A tad expensive but you get what you pay for. Great selection of food and afternoon teas. Great for special occasions, but book in advance as can get busy. Also brilliant for cake and chocolate making ingredients and specialist kitchen wares.
