Good food, old pub type atmosphere, great staff, nice location

Went for Valentine's dinner. The atmosphere and interior design of this place is out of this world fantastic. They even had decorations for the holiday. Super cozy local restaurant, decently prices, and wide variety of menu options. Food left a little to be desired, definitely a good place for a quick bite like a burger.

We were invited to a birthday party at Skippers. After reading the bad reviews I was a little concerned that the food would not be good. I was very happy that everything was GREAT! Appetizers were delicious! I had a Chipotle burger and it was great. Service was great too. We were in the dining room (27 of us) and the server asked us if we wanted to go to the bar area where they had a local team of Irish step dancers performing. That was fun and we were glad they asked us if we wanted to go see the kids dance. At the end of the night they were more than happy to cut up what was left of the birthday cake so people could take some home. We will be going back to Skippers!!!

Breakfast, lunch or dinner or sit at the bar for drinks and the view, Skippers is a treat and great service and meals.

Great location, good food. Not the place , though, if you want a quiet dinner!

Who goes there anymore? Great place to visit if you want to be alone. Really alone. Especially during their lunch hour. Avoid the bar where the only person you may have around on a weekday (last September) to chat with was the bartender herself. UGH!

Awesome food. The pesto pasta was one of its kind. My wife liked their fresh salmon and my son loves their pasta. 5 star ratings from me.

The food was actually very good but the service was slow and just felt sluggish. You really pay for location there. It's a good eat but I'd recommend eating elsewhere if you can. If u wanna kill time go right ahead.

Wide enough selection to satisfy all within your group. Staple items like burgers , grilled chicken and salads your best bet.

Not a fan. It was a nice Sunday night in the summer so the place was crowded, so I'll give the slow service a bit of a pass. Prices were high for the quality. The fried clams were maybe the blandest I've ever had. My wife's shrimp dish wasn't good either. Won't be coming back.

My favorite local pub... Great food and atmosphere

This is a comfortable pub. The food was good. We had burgers, a grilled chicken aandwich and a pretzel. Our server was very good. I would not get a pinoir-
I would stick with a mixed drink, a white wine and or beers
- are a good choice.

Charming place. Nice people and the food was tasty. And they are friendly to University of Kentucky people (wink wink).

Nice place and atmosphere, the bartender is a little bit rough sometimes, especially during the happy hours but besides that the place is pretty good.

A nautical-themed dive-ish bar right by the water, who would have thought? Friendly staff at the bar, who knew his regulars, but treated us first-timers the same way. Beer selection was what a dive tends to slant toward (adding in Blue Point as the somewhat local, crafty A-B brewery), and was generally in decent enough shape. Standard pub fare, and pretty cheap, if one was inclined to eat something. Fun times and completely laid back.

Food is terrible

Very nice staff. Food was above average, loved the spinach salad with shrimp. Little pricey but I would like to try their happy hour specials. Wine list could be improved. Overall, a solid choice in the village

Good food on the "pub" scale of food spectrum. Nice seaside decor with an authentic feel.

The place is ok . Service was slow and our waitress kept forgetting to bring things. The French fries were terrible..

Been a staple of northport for ever not bad to grab a beer or a some food

Haven't been here in about 15 years. Remembered why...Went back this week, won't be back again. Food under and overcooked (calamari) and fried clams. Fish and chips tasted day old. Service just okay. Not worth it for the money.........

The food was OK. The atmosphere is pretty comfy. But this is our second time there and 1 hour wait for a burger and some chicken tenders when half the place was empty seems way too long. So 2 times we waited an insanely long time to get our food from time of order.

Fairly standard bar and bar fare. The pretzel was huge and good.

The highlight for me was the view. From most of the bar, you have a good, air conditioned view of the harbor and park.

I got the skipper burger and i wasn't impressed. Their seafood looked good but i did not order any of it.

Went for the lunch special. The food was delicious and the price was great!

On a day when the town had no electricity the staff was excellent n the food was great as always

Wonderful restaurant in a very beautiful area. Staff are friendly, cocktails are poured generously and the menu maintains a multitude of generous portions of dishes. Great night cap as well if you're on the go.

Two key components of dining, food and service, they got a 4 for food and a ZERO for service from a sassy little millennial named Kaitlyn. If you get her ask for another server. Gor up twice for my own water, she didn't bring bread until I asked. Sorry chick a first time customer doesn't know that. 4 people and had to ask for silverware. But, the worst part was that when I finally said something she talked back twice. Sorry Kaitlyn I am twice you age, I paid my dues you deserve to really see yourself as others do. Food: shrimp and fish and chips great. Burger just average but won't disappoint.

A great place to have dinner and drinks with friends and family

This restaurant is so much fun. It is in Suffolk NY in the town of Northport by the water. It has a great nautical themed environment and the food and service are really great. our server was really fun and the food was excellent. Highly recommend!

This Pub is in a convenient location at the Northwest corner of the very end of Main Street, right near the water and across from the parking lots. So that's what makes it very popular. The food is fair, the drinks are reasonable. They do offer a great happy hour deal just about every day I think. It includes special pricing on the appetizers. We use it a lot as a meeting place, but it's not my favorite place to eat at in Northport.

Next time give me a smaller spoon for my coffee it wasn't busy at all

This was my first time at Skipper's. It has a great understated nautical decor with comfortable booth, table and bar seating. The bar has a nice view of Northport Harbor. If you are there for sunset it is an extra treat. The service is friendly and efficient.
The drinks, beer and wine are very good with an interesting selection. There is very good solid selection of comfort foods which is well prepared. The specials are an extra treat. Pricing is reasonable. There is a nice mix of clientele with families, Millennials, forty somethings and boomers. This will definitely be part of my local go to places for a relaxing atmosphere, well prepared comfort food with good drinks and service. After dinner in good weather take an enjoyable walk through town or along the harbor.

In town location. Burgers are supposed to be made from fresh ground beef but were very dry. Overpriced for quality of food. Service was quick and efficient.

Had to wait 25 mins for 4 baked clams then 45 mins for antree...ended up leaving ...baked clam were awful!

Good seafood. Atmosphere fits the environment. Great seafood. Prices in line with the area.

Save your money or find another place on Main Street. Food was not good. The service and attitude of staff was not any better.

The food was excellent. We had the calamari, blooming onion and panco breaded sweet Thai chili shrimp. The calamari was fresh and cooked perfectly. The blooming onion was well you know a blooming onion, hard to mess that up. The sweet thai chili shrimp was great. Service was good, attentive. The only complaint was that he forgot the side of sweet thai chili sauce. Other then that he was fine.

Friendly. Food is great. Just a great place to stop. Eat. They make the greatest drinks. A must stop.

You mean this dingy depressing place has something other than burgers? It's such a shame because it's location has such great potential to be a great eating experience. Hello! You're on a corner facing the water!!!!!!! Need I say more? Northport really needs to step up the dining experience!

Excellent taco dinner special and Chipotle Burger was great. Good beer selection but they should add a local Sand City beer to the tap!

Menu is good ,specials reasonable, services is quick and friendly. Friendly pub like atmosphere also quiet tables for 2 or more

Great selection of food, atmosphere... location at center of Northport tourist area. Excellent staff.

High price for little reward. The menu is pretty standard for this area, but we probably shouldn t have spent $18 on what should have been a $11 Greek salad. We also tried the Brie and mango quesadilla to mix things up. And it was a miss, as the strong mango flavors over-power everything. The ambiance feels like a bar you would choose to host your 25th year school reunion.

Solid bar without all the super craft beer options you see in so many places that can be a little overwhelming... Food was decent, service was friendly but slow. Overall, it's a solid dive bar

The atmosphere is kitschy and very nautical. The service is decent. The menu is more pub food and its not the best pub food I've had. The prices were on the high end. I would try them again if in the area.

Iconic Nostalgic Pub
A nautical themed Tavern & Bar that celebrates a bygone era of shipbuilding and sailing. You can walk around the Harbor come inside for Happy Hour, or a short lunch. or dinner. In the heart of Northport Village, this pub offers up the same ambiance and casual atmosphere it always did, kind of like returning home and visiting old friends. I had a chance to do that recently and had some great laughs from a late lunch that extended into Happy Hour. Since I am a city girl, I tend to like sandwiches that remind me of days when I worked in Mnhattan, near Carnegie Hall & Carnegie Deli. I would highly recommend the Reuben Grill, The Rigger or spinach salad & grilled shrimp - we enjoyed them all. Come on a warm day, then you can have more fun walking off the calories down Woodbine Avenue, and take in some great views at sunset.

This was my first time at this place. The staff was so friendly. The food was good and moderately priced. I enjoyed the restaurant's nautical theme and would visit again.

Lobster rolls were good. Had one Sea Dog beer that was fresh. Waitress was ok until we told her, in the most polite way, that she charged us for an extra beer she never brought to our table; she left it sitting on the bar. She offered it to us, warm, but we had to leave because we had to meet up with other people for my birthday. She gave us the updated check and we still added a 20% tip which we regret because she grabbed it off our table without even saying anything. Then, as we were leaving, we said thank you but she just gave us a stink eye. Rude.

Lived in Northport 40 years. I use to go to Skippers all the time. It's been sometime since I've been back. Sadly nothing has changed. They have not changed one thing in the place. No upgrades what so ever. The bartender was slow and couldn't handle the crowd. The second bartender didn't know what she was doing. Many people walked out waiting for a drink. I wouldn't eat here no reason to. Great location . other that nothing to speak of. Need a new bartender

Food was pretty bad and even tho the waitress was nice the hostess was extremely rude and our bill had mistakes where they charged us double items we just had one off.

All 4of the meals ordered were excellent, well priced and and our waitress was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The kitchen was accommodating to a change in one of the meals. A very pleasant and satisfying experience.
