Long lines but fast service and great ice cream. Employees always friendly.

Lines down the street, a place doesn't get that 40 years into existence, unless it's legit. The Coke float is spot on and so are the dipped cones.

Skipper Dipper is probably one of the best places to get ice-cream on LBI. There's always a line but they always have employees who run up and down the lines asking people if someone's taken their order yet, and if not they'll take your order right there. I've never gotten the wrong order or had something missing. And of course, their ice-cream is very good, I love their milk shakes

Good ice cream and a gun atmosphere. Often crowded.

I think about this place every day! Their caramel and hot fudge are incredible. I am counting down the days until I go back. The staff was fun and eager to help me get my ideal creation.

Great ice cream!!! Line was not too long, only a couple of minutes. I got the salted caramel sandwich - amazing!

Iconic ice-cream shop which is couple blocks away from the beach. They have huge selection of treats, including dairy free pineapple & coconut swirl.

Hands down best ice cream store IN THE WORLD! We love coming back to Skipper Dipper every year. Great ice cream selection and combinations available for sundaes. Try this Soft Vanilla ice cream with Nutella sauce and toasted coconut topping. So good we had them make our daughter's ice cream bday cake the same way. Friendly owner and staff, well kept, clean. Delicious icecream and excellent service. The girls brought napkins and stickers outside to my grandchildren without being asked!

Usually very, very busy. Most nights in the summer months the line goes all the way down to the street. That is their only fault.

Has the best selection of ice cream flavors on the island. Don't be intimidated by the long line because it moves very fast. Always be sure to look at the specials when you walk in because the are quite special indeed.

Very good ice cream with bold flavors. We did not try their soft serve. A lot of selections of toppings. The kiddie portion is big. Not really cheap, but prices are comparable to these types of ice cream shops in NJ...
As others already mention, the lines usually are long. Nevertheless, once in the building, employees walk up the line, take and deliver the orders of those who already know exactly what they want (the flavors etc are described everywhere in the shop, and portion sizes are clearly displayed on top of the counter, so there is no real need to get to the counter to place an order). One then is asked to skip to the register to pay.
Indecisive customers or folks plagued by an incurable urge to constantly stare at their cp screen (and fail to move up in line, too) will spend a far longer time in there.
We were out there in about 10 minutes total at about 9:30 pm on a Sat night. The line ended at the bottom of the stairs...

One of the best ice cream places on the entire island. Many ice cream flavors to pick from.

It's ice cream, come on, that in and of itself is worth 5 stars. But on top of that, the staff is friendly and they have a great system for keeping the line moving quickly on busy nights. Definitely a LBI landmark!

.be sure to go early as the lines are long. It's worth the wait though!! Staff is always accommodating and gives kids wet wipes and tatoos. Year after year- the cheesecake ice cream never disappoints.

Very crowded, the girls working there do a great job! Taking orders in advance. The please runs like a machine and the prices are average. Highly recommend it!

I love Skipper Dipper! By far the best ice cream on LBI. The line is always long but it s so worth waiting. They offer vegan/dairy-free flavors in both soft serve and hard ice cream. Mu absolute favorite is the cranberry soft serve!

Expensive and long lines. During busy time they serve you before you get to the cash register and it will be nearly gone by the time you pay. Enjoy your ice cream while still standing in line amongst a crowd of loud people. Yum!

Sooo good, owners are super friendly and helpful..so is the entire staff.

When we first got there the line was tremendously long.....on a Tuesday night.....but the efficient way they took order and got you your ice cream was amazing. Delicious soft serve. I ll be back

Line was out the door to the curb but was welcomed as soon as we walk inside. Line moves quick! Got "Death by chocolate" and it was the bomb!

The only reason it's not a 5 star rating is because of the line to get your ice cream! BEST ON THE ISLAND

Best ice cream on LBI. If you see a line wrapped around building, do not worry they are fast! They send people out to take your order and bring it to you! Don't forget to get the coupon card stamped! 10 cones get one free!

My absolute favorite ice cream place in the world! My boyfriend, his family and I go whenever we visit LBI. The staff is super efficient with getting everyone's orders done quickly when there is a massive line. Whenever we have been there we are never waiting more than 5 minutes to get our order and pay. The soft serve is heavenly and so are the signature harder scoop flavors.

A fantastic ice cream place with plenty of flavor options, whether you want soft serve or hard. The employees are great - friendly and conscientious! If you have to be gluten free, this is the place to go for ice cream -- employees change gloves, and get toppings from the supply bag (rather than the bowl where all cones are dipped). Highly recommend!

There is a long line for a reason. The ice cream is amazing and there are so many options. The line moves quickly also and they are very efficient. There are several alternate choices and both soft serve and hard ice cream available. I definitely recommend.

The ice cream here is amazing and comes in huge varieties of sorbet, soft serve, hard serve, and water ice. Sometimes the line wraps around the building and down on the sidewalk. This icecream parlor lives up to any hype about it.

An LBI staple... You must visit if you're on the island. Always a great selection of ice cream and very allergy concious. Even when the line is around the corner the staff figure out a way to keep things moving.

You're not in business for 40 plus years by mistake. Great ice cream and the staff keeps the line moving. My only advice is to back into your parking spot upon arrival as there is a fair amount of foot traffic. Trust me it'll make your departure easier.

Everyone else had an awesome experience. Unfortunately I ordered the soy vanilla soft serve and received regular vanilla hard scoop. I informed them I was lactose intolerant. So I'm not really happy. Why ask about allergies if you don't care.

First time there and it was absolutely scrumptious! I had a medium (moose tracks and chocolate peanut butter) in a waffle cone! It was very big and so darn good! Will be back for more :)

Thank you Skipper Dipper!! You did not just say you took the safety of your customers, staff and their families seriously during the pandemic, you have shown that you meant it. Your system of online ordering and quick, easy, and safe pickup during the pandemic has worked so well! Yes, we miss the whole experience of choosing our flavors in person, (trips to Skipper Dipper are part of our LBI vacation traditions) but we so appreciate the responsible efforts you have taken in 2020. We so look forward to waiting on your line for ice cream in 2021!

Skipper dipper is the real deal. Very unique way they create tons of different soft serve. I got black cherry / pineapple combo and it looked amazing and I devoured it before I could snap a picture. 10/10
