I'm a male thrillseeker in his 20s who was travelling with 2 friends. The park is not too far from SF and it took us around an hour from downtown to the park with a rental car. Purchasing the ticket online the day before saved us 10$ (=56$), but it seems to be cheaper if you purchase it earlier in advance.
I have been to Six Flags Magic Mountain in LA before and have to say that I was expecting more form this one. We didn't visit any of the animal shows for ethical reasons (and if I had known they keep animals in advance I would not have gone there).
For people of our kind there have only been 2 rides that were thrilling. V2 was closed unfortunately. Medusa is awesome. Superman and The Joker were good. Kong was not fun for any of us, because the way you're seated and suspended results in a lot of kicks on your spine and neck.
Foodwise it's just sad. Already in Magic Mountains I experienced horribly overpriced, poor food. We went to JB's Sports Bar and Grill. I can't really tell what part of the "bar" qualifies for it to be called "grill". Had to queue up for 20minutes, even though only 8 people were in front of me, and wait another 20minutes to get our food. Everything seemed to be poorly organised. The burgers were average quality, but considering the price tag, it's just horrible. Also, the place was so loud because of hollow aluminium chairs on stone floor (and kids), it was difficult to hear your own word.
Overall, I can imagine that the park is good for families with children, but if you're a grown thrill seeker, I think there are better options out there.
