My husband and I decided to go solar in the summer of 2019 after we purchased a home. We also chose to bundle up and get a new roof (yes, roof was eligible for 30% federal credit too!). I did a lot of research and narrowed it down to 4 different solar companies, taking over 2 months to nitpick each one. The quotes greatly varied in price, but we ended up choosing middle-of-the-pack Sigora for the customer service, the system guarantee, and their transparency. I learned a TON about solar panels (grid-tied vs battery vs hybrid, what happens during a power outage, who offers 1-1 credits....), and they are definitely not the right fit for every home/business (every state has different options, so keep that in mind). I highly suggest you do your due diligence and speak to multiple people who had them installed from different companies, and then make your selection based on what is the right fit for YOU. We've had them for about 9 months now, we were able to build up credits to make a big dent in our winter heating bill, and our goal is to stock up enough credits this year to have a $0 electric bill this winter. And yes, the federal credit came through on my tax refund this year! Sigora has been very fair with us and made good on all their promises. The app is very easy to use and helps me understand how much solar energy my array produces (while my electric bill helps me understand how my family uses energy during different seasons) so that I can get the most out of our system. Please feel free to ask me questions; I can also set you up with my primary contact at Sigora. If you have found this review helpful and want to schedule a free consultation, please contact them and mention my name!

Follow-up. I do not think I have done this in the past, but Sigora reached out to me again so here is my update to a previous posting a few months ago.
I strongly suggest:

- being weary of Sigora with their strong sales pitch and manipulation of numbers in their favor.
- contact at least two competing solar companies.
- assure comparisons are apples to apples: type of solar panels, number of inverters, panel efficiency, can the panels be monitored individually for power generated, warranty (Sigora is local- many companies are worldwide and will be around many years) etc.

During the most recent email exchanges with Sigora I mentioned my hesitation to go with Sigora because of the long payback period to break even and the original cost. Sigora would not address the cost issue. When asked if they would pay $20000 for an item when it is available at $13000 with comparable or better components- they would not answer. They did send an excel spreadsheet attempting to show my payback/break-even point was 2-3 years. It is actually closer to 7-8 years. They neglect to factor in: the cost to remain on the Dominion power grid, paying Dominion and your loan simultaneously on occasion (because there will be months when the solar system does not generate enough power for your home) and home owners insurance may increase. They also continued to use a number much higher than my monthly electric bill that I gave as proof of my monthly cost, skewing the data dramatically in their favor.
No company will answer when I ask how the panels will be disposed when it comes time or what the carbon footprint is to manufacturer the panels and associated equipment Not saying it is a bad idea to go solar but I would like some answers to very important questions. By the way, if you have noticed at the end of poor reviews, Sigora ask the reviewer reach out to them. I did reach out to them with my contact information and never heard a peep from them.

We are just beginning our solar journey and have chosen Sigora after looking at several companies. Trent's explanations of various types of solar energy, the efficiency ratings of Sigora's panels, and the ins and outs of solar, including battery back-up were all excellent. Follow-through service so far has been right on-target -- timely, professional, cordial, and complete, just as Trent's presentations were. Another family in our neighborhood recently installed Sigora and they seem happy. We are looking forward to years of great service from this company, and hope you will consider them.

Sigora did a great job on my house from start to finish. Not only are their people knowledgeable, but from the salespeople to the installers they are professional, prompt & courteous. They are always available to answer your questions and I get the feeling they really care and have passion for their work.

They come through and do an energy audit, too, and help you get your house to the point where you are using only the energy you need and not wasting any. The panels work very, very well. I would recommend Sigora to anyone looking to take advantage of the sun s energy to power their home.

We had an amazing experience through and through. The installation was surprisingly quick (only took a few hours for our 7.1 kW system) and the crews were very professional and kept our yard clean. I love how the panels look and fit so cleanly on the roof. We got the full Produce and Reduce package so we also received an energy efficiency audit and some free improvements. I was surprised how much they were able to do considering the home is new construction! Definitely glad they performed that audit and we now have a Pearl Certified home as well! The energy efficiency team was great to talk to and suggested some other energy/home tips to help make our HVAC and water heater last longer and operate most efficiently. It s nice to know we won t be wasting lots of the energy we produce to any inefficiencies in the home. The whole process was simple and professional, and I d definitely recommend Sigora to anyone interested in going solar.

Signed a contract 6/11/21 for pool solar installation with the Rancho Cordova branch to start no later than 9/9/21, with a verbal start date of end of Aug, middle of Sept. Site survey was done a month early in July, which I though was a good sign but all down hill from there. I kept being told I might get installation by 9/21 but then was told 9/15 after I complained (to shut me up). I started emailing 9/19, no response. Emailed again 9/21, no response. I doubt they have not even pulled a permit because I am supposed to pay permit fees separately and last time I checked with the city it was a no. They operate under a couple of names so I did email under both known names but radio silence. Interesting how a few people are taken care of and others not. Oh but wait I forgot the team is still working on the design. Update 10/2/21 still waiting, have contacted their Mother Co Signora Solar back east and sent a copy of my contract & it appears they also are ghosting me. Had to take them down to one star with yelp. This is just wild. If you are going to do the work at least refund my deposit!

From the day Caroline Sada walked in our door, our project with Sigora ran smoothly--well planned, well executed. Their team is competent, courteous and reliable. They kept us informed about the schedule and everything was accomplished on the promised day. Wow--imagine that. We've been very pleased with the performance so far with electric bills less than half those of the past. This is a good team

Very poor customer service and attention to detail...

Very poor customer service and attention to detail.on a $35K solar installation. It took nearly two months after panel installation on 29 JUNE for a county inspection to occur because SIGORA had to submit a revised permit application for the placement of panels on the roof that they determined necessary after their on-site inspection (which occurred after the original permit application with their original design had been submitted to the county). The county inspection finally happened on 24 August - the installation failed inspection, however, because the installers had failed to tie the wires connecting the panels to each other to the installation frames. Fixing this problem will require removing and reinstalling multiple panels. I contacted SIGORA on 27 August (after being told on 24 August that fixing the issues that lead to the failed inspection would be accomplished "promptly") to find when the remedial installation would occur -- now I'm told that because of COVID issues affecting my original install crew they can't tell me when the installation deficiencies will be fixed.

Sigora performed a home energy audit and upgraded several items in the house to include: light bulbs, weatherstripping, and sealing around the HVAC unit. Aubrey Hughes and his team did an outstanding job. Aubrey started by briefing me on what his team's mission was today. He did an excellent job of keeping me informed on what they were doing during the process, and what changes needed to be made, if any were required. His team worked diligently and quickly throughout the audit. My wife and I were very happy with the Aubrey and his team's dedication to doing the job right and ensuring we were not only satisfied with the results; but also pleased with the way they treated our home during the audit. We would recommend Sigora and Aubrey's team to anyone looking to ensure their home was energy efficient.

Sigora solar was great when we signed up. However the experience of being their customer for the last almost 3 years has been frustrating. The customer service reps have been very nice, but that doesn t change the fact that when you need something fixed it takes a LONG TIME for that to happen. They have eventually taken care of the problems that I ve had with their product, but I had to be the one that called weekly to remind them that I still had something that they were responsible to fix!!! If you are looking for a great consumer experience I d suggest looking elsewhere, this company has added too much stress to my life for me to be able to recommend them to others.
