I thought it was a bit of Prague in the USA, very nice on the outside, I do not know inside
Beautiful theater! Amazing experience at intimate concerts. No drinks or food allowed inside the theater.
Great place for small venue performances
Saw/ heard Beethoven's Violin Concerto by a somewhat lesser know orchestra who did a fine, no, wonderful rendition.
It is small theater yet it projects a large impression on the audience and on the performances.
Great space with great speakers...what more can I say? :)
Adore this place. Absolutely beautiful venue to see a special event or concert.
Harvard University's renowned and beautiful performance and lecture hall. A must see!
First time there. Very impressed with the sound system. Theatre sitting arrangement is great no obstruction. Totally would go there again.
Harvard are Harvard, While the theater was quaint and full of history, the interview and launch of Randall Munroe's new book, "how to" was the main attraction. For XKCD fans this is an event not to be missed with humorous anecdotes on the research behind the book to some personal stories from Randall. No individual seats at the theater, just benches and the seating is tight, but well worth it for the event.
A nice old theater where you can enjoy a classical concert.
Interesting venue, but not my first choice for a concert. Acoustics are not the best and the seats are among the most uncomfortable in Cambridge. Prefer several other sites for a two hour concert.
Too bad such great performers play at Saunders theater because the seats are uncomfortable and you are squeezed into a row that has at least two too many people in it. If you are really unlucky you will sit next to someone who is obese - not good when the seats are pew style
Beautiful building with wonderful acoustics in the auditorium.
This place is extroidanary! I wanted to go see the inside, ALL of the inside all the way to the top. Annenburg Hall is adjacent and we snuck into there for a minute but got kicked out shortly after lol... The hall is now a freshman only dining hall.
It's has huge doors. You must try to open otherwise it seems like the building us closed.
The Sander Theatre under the sun is the most beautiful
I was here Sunday February 25,2018 to enjoy a splendid concert . I purchased a Balcony A, row EE, seat 4 ticket. This sit is abstracted with balcony bars so that I could see only 1/8 of the orchestra. I couldn't see the conductor and the pianist at all. This seat should be prohibited for sale. When I was trying to change that nasty seat for a better one, the ladies who are in the concert hall to make the customers comfortable ruined my Sunday to the worst. There were plenty of not taken seats. They wouldn't let me take any of them. There was a guy sitting in front of me taking all the 4 seats in the row. When I was trying to change my nasty seat one of the ladies took me by hand and ordered to go back to my seat. Both of them were chasing me even during the intermission when I was busy with my phone. One of them came up to me and ordered not to do any photography, which I wasn't doing. Looked like they planned to ruin my day. That was a terrible experience. I wish people like that shouldn't take such positions if they plan on making us uncomfortable. The worst experience I ever had visiting a concert hall.
Neo-Gothic building that manages to overcome the lack of originality with a fantasy scenario.
Great historic theater with atmosphere and good sound wherever you sit
A breathtaking building at Harvard University....some of the background images in the Harry Potter film was shot here, as well as a movie "The Great Debators".
Small but good place to hear Symphony music by the Boston youth Symphony Orchestra which play there twice a year must go of you can het a ticket for the Opera which happens on January of each year
You are in for a wonderful treat and wonderful music played by the Boston youth sympathy Orchestra must give them a fabulous hand.
Beautiful theater with amazing acoustics. Also the most uncomfortable and cramped seating I have ever experienced! Middle seat on an airplane would be a step up.
The legendary Harry Potter restaurant just happened to catch up with the choir. The live sound is very good and the audience atmosphere is very good.
Oh, wonderful ambience. Historic hall, and mostly classical art forms are performed here. If you get a chance, it's a must visit.
This theater looks really cool even if the lighting positions aren't great.
Attended several functions here. Beautiful architecture.
Thank you Alkistis for the magical journey you offer us with your songs and remind us of Greece.
It's quite a beautiful theater but it's not soundproofed and all the outside police, ambulance and other sirens destroy the enjoyment of a musical concert.
Came here for the Christmas Revels and it was fantastic. Sanders Theater in the hall was perfect for it because at one point you leave and go into the entrance hall. The hall looks very old, but well maintained, so it went perfect with the play being centered in the 1800s.
Completed in 1878, the memorial hall is one of Harvard's most iconic buildings, located just north of Harvard University. The building is very impressive and catches the eye of all passers-by.
A wonderfully historic building. Great architecture. Clean bathrooms.
This is my favorite theater -- we see the Revels here every year and the acoustics are perfect.
I go there to hear concerts and lectures, but,t the building is so beautiful, its worth going to just take in its majesty.
Beautiful old building, great acoustics, poor sight lines, and super tight seating. Performance on NY eve by Boston Baroque was superb.
Harvard's big lecture hall, spacious and comfortable
Spectacular setting for music and other presentations
The place is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful atmosphere.
Revels is always a joyous way to start the Christmas season. Or whole family loves it and can't wait to come back the following year.
The dinning hall of the students from Harvard university. Public can't always enter but it's a beautiful building you should definitely check out if you are in the area.
Located in Harvard yard, used to be a church. Wonderful concert hall with good acoustics. Not too big to be intimidating but good size even for big performances.
Beautiful place, clean and loved seeing the Christmas Revels!
When I visited Sanders Theater, I was sure it was a church, but it was not.
A Neo-Gothic masterpiece. A great venue for classical music.
Always a pleasure to be in this beautiful traditional Hall. The sound is wonderful and the seating is flexible. Easy to get to from public transportation
We go there on concerts of Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. The atmosphere is amazing. It's a small hall where you can see musicians even from the last row.
I have a student ID and buy two tickets for $10 each. And I can watch here concerts that are played in Boston Philharmonic Orchestra for much higher price.
Great old playhouse/live theater. Did I say; at Harvard. The only way I'd get in is to buy a ticket. Good experience!
Love the setting, but the seating is designed for when people were 5'2" and 120lbs.
A historical biulding in Harvard. It was under a official Harvard tour.
Amazing place ! If you ever saw a show or play here I m sure it was one of a kind !
Attended a Beethoven concert with the Boston Philharmonic. The music was lovely and the conductor was funny and engaging. However...There were two photographers that were there to record the event. The photographers made noise (clicking cameras) the entire time, at one point in the concert there was one photographer 3 ft behind me clicking away and the other was 10 ft to my right.
Needless to say they ruined the experience for myself and the others around me. Not sure why one would need to take hundreds of photos of a stationary subject. I emailed the the Office for the Arts at Harvard and they never bothered to respond. Poor form
Beautiful space / squished+uncomfortable seating / could use some extra restrooms
Very tidy and beautiful building. Friendly staff and interesting New Year Concert with champagne reception. A sweet memory for year 2019.
Beautiful, historic, intimate music and performance venue.
Great acoustics and good lines of site. Seating is comfortable enough.
