Totally Christmas at Shrigley Hall. In all a very pleasant visit. Staff very friendly and helpful. Clean and traffic light system. My children enjoyed themselves here. The settings were good in each room and the clues not hard to solve. My children are 9 and 11, I think if they were a few years younger would have found the experience more enchanting. No complaints a nice evenings visit.

We had a spa break dinner break and breakfast package which was really good value.
The spa and treatment was great and well run.
Our room was in the modern annex at the rear and was a great room. Vacuuming could have been better.
Dinner was a bit on the small side but for mass catering was alright. Dessert was very nice.
Covid regs are a pain as no ordering drinks at the bar. The table service could have been a bit more proactive but everyone was polite and friendly.
Breakfast was really very very good indeed. Great quality food well cooked and the dining room is very light and airy.
Overall we had a really great break and it was very good value. The location and grounds were very nice and great location for exploring the Peak District.

Bought a Wowcher deal back in Oct 2020 to celebrate my birthday but due to covid restrictions we have had to reschedule 3 times in which the hotel was more than accommodating.

The deal was for 2 people for 2 nights B&B, a bottle of wine for the room, evening meal & afternoon tea for the following day.

First impressions
Shrigley Hall was most impressive with its extensive surrounding grounds and its grand entrance reception hallway.
All the staff in all areas where very attentive, pleasant and accommodating.

Room
We was allocated a classic room which in my opinion was very tired and not what was shown on the website. Our furniture was worn and carpet threadbare by the wardrobe and with no views I must say I have slept in better, saying that it was all very clean and I had a good night sleep.

Food
The evening meal was delicious with a good choice. Plates emptied by both
Breakfast a choice of full English, yoghurt, pastries all very nice to set you up for the day.
Afternoon tea - very nice but for me the usual standard of too many cakes to sandwich ratio a more savory option would be great.

We had great weather so was able to enjoy the woodland walk with all it's bluebells, deer spotting on the golf course and watching the goslings and moorhens on the lake and finished with a drink in the sun in the courtyard bar where you might be lucky to get a visit from the resident peacock Percy

All in all a most enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend.

Played yesterday in the rain.the course was great, but needs more bells, as a lot of blind shots. A course planner would have helped as hazards ahead could not be seen. Staffing was fantastic

The high tea was nice. The restaurant was dirty. Clearly hadn't been cleaned in between services. I asked to be moved and we moved to a cleaner part of the restaurant. We were told it would be cleaned before the evening service. Really?!? The staff were lovely.

Stayed with a voucher package, the hotel interior is stunning, we had evening meal along with afternoon tea, both where of a good standard, the staff have all been outstanding. We did not use the spa or golf course but they looked great
