I enjoyed the symphony, afterwards not so much. What can you expect with that many people. Took way to long to leave someone needs to invent a better system.
The place is ok if you put on lots of sunscreen, remember that you are under California's sun and is very easy to get sunburns. Restrooms are in very bad condition.
Waited for 50 min to get from the 101 to the parking lot on Shoreline. Had to leave because the event was ending, took another 30 min to leave. Uber and lyft were dropping off down the same road causing endless traffic. Event parking staff were not managing the cars well.
I was here for the Smashing Pumpkins. They did not handle the crowds very nicely and the uber/lydt pickup platform was far to walk to and not clearly labeled.
Good venue. Parking is expected for places like this: trash.
They have some decent shows there but if you go to a popular one then prepare for some serious suck. They charge Somali Pirate Ransom amounts of money for food that makes the culinary offerings from 7-11 look like something Gordon Ramsay prepared in comparison. The lines are so long that by time you get to ordering range in line they announce they ran out of what you wanted. [Choose new item and wait then repeat.] I've worked in venues a lot of my life and I know when they oversell shows and I get that they do it. I would too. But overselling to a point that it's standing room only on the lawn is beyond crummy.
The sound isn't bad and most shows I've been to there it sounds great. But if you are not in the seats then you're not close enough to really see anything beyond watching some crummy video projection.
The staff is always rad. I know a good security staff for sure and every time I've seen them interact with people they are as good as it gets.
Anyway, the place would be terrific if you manage to get a ticket in the seating areas. And you have an extra hundred bucks for some suspicious looking nachos.
Really nice place to be, especially during nice weather. As sitting on the lawn is very relaxing
what can I say about this place, weekend with family and friends but more important was the event I got to share with thousands of people a weekend of punk Rock it was literally amazing, great times great friends amzing family
I liked the open-air design (pretty common with amphitheaters :) ) There was great sound quality, and it was pretty easy to find my way around. The frozen strawberry daiquiri I had was also super tasty and refreshing and the lady who served it to me was pretty great. I also feel like I was safe while attending the concert. I'm sire that was mostly due to the other attendees, but if I should have ever needed help, there was always stadium/concert worker nearby. I recommend this place for concerts and performances, as it is in a very scenic setting.

Oddball sucked!
In a nutshell: horrible experience. Save your money and nerves: do anything else! ... a dental cleaning would be more pleasant ... a root canal... an exhaustive ball waxing (it just seemed quite fitting in this context).
Supremely incompetent, drunken/high management, stupidly designed signs, borderline retarded employees, idiotically designed venue. All in all: "Oddball" sucked. Hard. Never again! I will never again buy tickets. Not for this venue - not even if they presented George Carlin resurrected.
My impassioned plea to comedians: Please do not come to Mtn. View, CA any longer! Management is supremely greedy, incompetent and will do anything for a petty profit, e.g. $5 lawn chairs. They would even misrepresent performers: "You are not allowed to sit in your prepaid seats because the comedians said so". Come again?!!
The performance was scheduled to start at 5:00pm (per Ticketmaster and OddballFestival) so I was present there before that time and saw this sign (see my uploaded photo) which not only said the show starts at 5:15 (later than the website advert) but it didn't even say where. We found out later that there was a mythical SECOND STAGE - which was not mentioned on the sign or the website. The employees were too retarded to agree with each other on where it was located. It's not that easy to navigate fast in a sea of humanity so the show had started before we could get to the infamous 2nd STAGE.
BTW: Why do I have to navigate and change venues during the show and why is this not more clearly explained on Ticket Master/Live Nation/Oddball Fest? And if I buy seats at this event why am I not allowed to sit in my seat before the start of the show? They also don't list the time the show should end - not even an estimate. If I knew it was supposed to go until 10:00pm or even later I would have never bought tickets in the first place. I like comedy but not this much. Beer and greasy food don't make up for the rest. I also couldn't find a complete list of all the performers on the website.
The fact that Ticket Master (and Live Nation) don't explain things on their website at the time one buys the tickets can be seen as a breach of contract or false advertising. "Louis C.K., Sarah Silverman, Jim Gaffigan, Chris Hardwick etc. "AND MORE..." does not suffice. The names of the comedians we really wanted to watch were listed at the venue beginning at 8:00pm. Did I mention I got there at 4:30pm?
In short: I could not see the show because of all this (I bought seats, not general admission/lawn tickets). A very aggressive, libidinous-uncle-type manager refused to refund the $200, made us stand in the sun all the while we talked and ultimately sent us packing quite unceremoniously.
I had been waiting for this event a long time so not having been able to see it (and not getting my money back) really deflated me to such a point that I'm beginning to reassess my appreciation for comedians and comedy in general. Is all this aggravation really worth it?
PS: Makes me hope some environmentalists will find some endangered species in the area and shut down this cluster... Seriously though: the whole neighborhood is not made to sustain such traffic anyway. Save the environment: level that pathetic excuse for a venue!
Looking like those people who live in area gone for a trip for a 1 on 1 battlefield.
Well- run facility but if you attend an afternoon event, you will probably be in the sun. Uncomfortable on a hot day
Huge venue space, with bathrooms. Getting there when there's an event is a the biggest trip, so my only advice is to go there early! or park really far and walk a mile.
Lots of seating, parking is plentiful. You can see the stage from any seat.
Great outdoor venue but the rows could definitely be a little more vertical for those of us who are height challenged... And parking SUCKS. It literally takes a good 45-60 min to just leave the parking lot at the end, no joke. Park away, near the great and walk in. You're welcome.
Great venue, no charge for parking is awsome, just need more signs color coded for when you go m forget where you parked your car
Shoreline park is the hidden gem in Bay area.. not so crowded, great lake, nice cafe..and plenty of parking. What's to complain about?
One of the better outdoor venues in the Bay Area to experience live entertainment.
Great venue!!! Went here recently for the first time since 1992, still the same as always. Glad they have not sold out their name to a corporate sponsor too!
Nice venue, I like the upgrades they made since last season. Food prices are still high as a kite! 3 small tacos $12....hardly any meat on them either. Don't get me wrong, I know where I am at, but still not worth the money
Trying to park was a nightmare. And there was less food stations this year which led to GIGANTIC lines for them. Also they threw out our sunscreen. Wack.
Parking and lines can be a drag. You're better off parking on the other side of the highway and walking or riding your bike in. so my very first concert here when I was 14 and haven't stopped going since.
Oh my God! I took my daughter to the Vans warped tour show.Specifically to see the BlackVeilBrides and Water parks.Im a veteran of going to rock concerts and Days on the green etc.The lines to get in we're at least....at the very least..A mile and a half long.It was hot that day as well.Water was 5.00 a bottle,a 12 oz glass of lemonade was 7.00 and thank God the kids didn't get too hungry.Conditions made this event more like an ordeal than day off concert.Even in spite of the heat it was a great day with a lot of great bands.
Still a great place to go and enjoy a concert. Good food n Good people
horrible getting out of parking lot this past Saturday night after Dave Matthews !! What happened ???!! It was nearly an hour of standstill. Not returning ever again
Great place to enjoy a concert. Being out on the lawn, open air feels relaxing. Beer is VERY expensive. You can bring chairs or rent one for $10. Theres free parking in the general area, but a long walk from concert area. VIP parking usually $40, worth it.
Great venue for concerts, not a great spot for a tech conferences.
Great place for concerts and events. Attended Google I/O.
The venue is very convenient for the Google I/O and still accessible with the building site inside.
This venue needs to be razed, it's had it's day, God forbid you should park in their lots, will take you over an hour to get out of there. For the most part the lineup is underwhelming, it's no Mountain Winery, that's for sure.
Lots of parking available. The acoustic setup in this theatre is just awesome
Well organized concert venue, amphitheatre outside. As any similar place all food/drinks are expensive
Even from the lawn you still get a nice close view of the stage.
I was here for the 4th of July fireworks....it's a nice amphitheatre
I love working here... I never want it to end... And when it ends at the end of each season i always miss the family that I work with until the next year we see each other again.
Overall decent venue with great food options. Would be 5 stara but honestly everything is so expensive and the seating set up is not great
It was an amazing time. I went to see PVRIS, Thirty Seconds to Mars, and Muse, and I had the time of my life. Definitely go for seats if you can, or at least get there early to get closer to the stage on the grass
Open theater for shows/movies ..free parking ..kids strollers not allowed inside ..limited food options inside..but can take it with you!
Neat amphitheatre. Incredibly overpriced food and drinks. $5 for a small bottle of water.
Great music venue, with amazing food and drink options at a premium price. Free parking is great, but be prepared to walk.
Made for a great sound experience. Love the vibe and energy of concerts here!!
Outdoor concert venue with some seated areas as well as a lawn area. Traffic can be a nightmare around here during big events, but there is generally a decent amount of space at the venue. Bathrooms are in bad shape as are the refreshment stands.
Great place for a conference or a concert, although it is missing some central space close to the space where to stand up and dance
Great comedy show good parking easy to find and get out of after
I went here with my friend and girlfriend to see Halsey. It s a really nice place I d definitely go back and see another concert. Even from the lawn the sound is great.
Concert was awesome. Amenities of shorline were better than most. Rather organized as well. Good place for a venue.
The sound at this amphitheatre is absolutely amazing! Been to a comedy show and a concert here and both were memorable events. Giving it four stars because travel to this location is highly inconvenient. It's only accessible by car or bus and the traffic leading up to events here is a nightmare. Give yourself lots of time if you're going here!
Really good service and overall the venue is good. Alot of known artist play at shoreline.
Great layout. Not so good during rain. Top rows are a bit far from the action.
Great venue, super concerts and a wonderful place to hear music. They have awesome selections of food and multiple bathrooms. Overall best outdoor venue. Traffic can be a bit heavy in and out of venue, but it's gotten better.
I love Shoreline as a venue and I loved even more seeing Dave Chappelle and The Flight of the Conchords there last night but what I don't love is the lack of emergency preparedness and risk management that should be in place "on the lawn". This was a packed show so people were really tightly seated on the grass. There were no walkways anywhere on the grass and I watched and experienced people get walked over, stepped on and fights break out because of the lack of safety planning on the part of Shoreline. There is an obviously dangerous potential to what could happen to concert goers on the lawn if there was any major emergency, riot, fight, etc. There was no where for people to walk in or out of the lawn area and the stairways that should have been open were closed and guarded. This made the situation even worse for the people who weren't trying to step on people or fall, as they couldn't even make a straight line to a stairway. They were forced to see their way in the dark over and around people who were increasingly becoming irate and frustrated with being stepped on, blocked, spilled on and cursed at for not moving out of the way (Hello! I can't move. I'm sitting here!) Like any concert setting, there should be a few walkways, a few vertical from top to bottom that lead to the stairways at the base of the lawn and a few horizontal so people can get to the stairway more easily without risking stepping on someone, tripping, spilling something they just spent $ on, falling and hurting themselves and others, etc. This should be a priority and concern for Shoreline!
Nice outdoor arena. Bathrooms have large capacity, but usually still long lines. Crowds can get out of control when they overbook a concert, leading to very long lines for entry, food, merch. Parking situation slow and crammed. Overall decent, but crowd handling could be improved.
Great venue for live music with pretty good sound and great views from anywhere
Got through security quickly. Great place to see rock bands. Need to book more concerts especially on Friday and Saturdays for people who travel from the Santa Cruz area.
God Blues you
