Shoney's Review

I havent seen a shoneys in 20 years and it was worth the wait. Very good food and my waitress was delightful. I dined at the shoneys in charleston west virginia location.

This is by far the friendliest restaurant I have been to in years. I am very picky but walked over from a hotel to get a dessert to go. So friendly!!! Incredible staff!!

haven't been to a shoney's stop this one .checkout there buffet . im not big on breakfest glad to see there was salad on the buffet. ask for teri

Stopped in for lunch and ate breakfast instead. Good food, great service. You can even plug in usb or 120V chargers while dining at the bar.

Good Service, the food on the bar could've been better. The hot fudge cake was delicious. Family Friendly. I'll give 4 stars. Will definitely come back.

We ordered from the menu and were told not to be in a hurry because the kitchen was backed up and it would be a while. We changed our order to the buffet, but the food there was minimal and not fresh. Even the potato soup container was empty.

Food was very bad this evening. Service was non-existant.

This Shoney's has great food the bar is well kept and some of the best servers in WV.

Buffet seemed a bit expensive for what was available. Food was ok, nothing exceptional. Place looks old - could use some updating.

Food and service was great. But when I was going to pay the manager blurted out to make sure I pay even while I had the ticket in my hand. That was very embarassing and I'm quite insulted by it.

Food was OK for a buffet bar. Overall didn't feel clean and neat.

Salad bar is the worst I have ever seen. Disorganized, wilted, rotten, right down the line. Waitress tried to give me coke instead of water. She did in fact give me a baked potato instead of broccoli. The chocolate pudding was terrible, and the ice cream machine had a bucket of dirty water under it during our whole visit. This place is really going downhill. Such a disappointment, since it is one of the few remaining Shoney's. :-(

P. S. Had to come back for edit after I found hair between my half pounder and the mushroom topping. Grrrr

Have always loved Shoney's good people and good food

We had a decent time. The food wasn't fabulous but our service was. How could it not be when it's a buffet and you pretty much serve yourself? The upsell on the drinks to go should be mentioned. I mean, I guess I should know a to go cup costs extra but the server should have confirmed that during the upsell.

Nasty old food, dirty, expensive, and rude buffet attendant... Poorly stocked buffet had to keep asking for things that should be kept up on buffet...

Food was really good and great variety on the buffet

Food was pretty good. Victoria was an awesome waitress. It took 10 minutes for us to get waited on because the person who seated us didn't tell anyone. Then several minutes to get check out because she was busy stocking something.

A year before always get excellent service the food is good the waitresses are very nice always tip your waitresses.

Shoneys at quincy has tastier food. Don't know why but it's just fresher and better. Management should go there to eat and see what I'm talking about.

I have only been on a Saturday night, but all you can eat seafood and meat, lol, I don't eat meat, is the best ever!!! The waitresses are nice and the managers are great!!

Good Food, but 1 of the Staff "Borrowed" my Nice Umbrella and I have gotten the Run Around for 2 Months. ;(

NOT a family-style restaurant anymore! Although the food bar DOES have a lot of variety, don't go here if you're looking for a family restaurant like most Shoney's restaurants. Can you believe this one has an alcohol bar? Whatever happened to the old Shoneys that used to have "Family Night" and the Shoney's Bear with balloons?

One of the last remaining locations nearby. Hope it stays around for a very long time. Good service, great food, fair prices.

I don't always like the food that well, but I always seem to get the best waitresses. That certainly helps to make dinners better.

I like this Shoney's but it's a hit and miss on the waiter this time was definitely a miss

The service here was wonderful, the food was great and our server Donna was the best. We live about 60 miles away from here but it was well worth the drive for the quality of food and the service. The Shoney's in Huntington can't even compare to this Shoney's.

Love the hot fudge sundae and the special senior night

We were a party of four we were greeted and seated and the waiter took our drink order and we all had the breakfast bar it was on a Wednesday the waiter brought our drinks and then we didn't see the waiter for the rest of the meal he left the store we had no service at all until my sister said something to another employee we were out of drinks had no table service for about an hour or so. Very disappointed and probably won't go there again.

There was a roach crawling across the floor as I was leaving.

The bar was exceptional! They also accept military-(discount)

Food was sub par and found hair in food. When brought to the attention was not taken off only $5 was taken off bill. Won't be going back to this establishment

Great food with lots of memories of a younger time. Sad they are getting harder and harder to find.

They refused to serve a part of 11 at 830pm - even though they closed at midnight. Very lazy staff - watch out for Hep A!

We ate from the prime rib salad bar. The meat was tough and overcooked. Fish was overcooked.Salad bar was fair. Our waitress was wonderful though. The prime rib didn't look good enough for me to try. The collard greens and green beans with potatoes were salty but really good. Sorry guys.

It's okay it could be better they need more waitresses the one you have is wore out

This is the best Shoney's that i have been to. The breakfast is always fresh. The bacon is unlimited and the eggs and melted cheese is addicting. This establishment is a safe bet if you are looking for something convenient and satisfactory.
