Shoney's Review

I ordered baked spaghetti my husband ordered country fried steakand it was horrible they were both swimming in water and the buffet looked horrible I should ha e known when we walked in and the manager was screaming and saying g I'm trying to get you guys out of here and they weren't even busy will not recommend or eat there again

So we decided to get the buffet. However by the fruit is chocolate pudding (as it normally would be) and next to it, what I thought to be banana pudding or maybe even an off colored vanilla. I took a scoop and went to sit and eat. I took a bite and discovered that no, it's not pudding. That is whipped butter under the chocolate pudding, next to tartar sauce and contain sauce. So the big thing here is be careful what you grab, nothing is actually labeled. Otherwise the food is not great, yet cheap.

This place gives you two dinner options. You can either order from there menu that has something for everybody, or you can choose their all you can eat buffet which includes a soup salad and fruit bar. Both options only offer below average food. Some menu options are over priced for the quality of food you are getting and the buffet can be a ripoff at times. The service is normally friendly and always offers a warm smile.

I eat at Shoney s for lunch at least three or four times a month, I like the fried chicken especially the chicken legs, I asked my waitress if they had any more chicken legs and she said they are frying some would be ready in about 15 minutes, the chicken fryer personally brought two chicken legs out my table, fantastic service.

Remembered why I stopped going to this Shoney's. The food and staff was horrible. We went in on Monday evening MLK day, and the best part of the experience was the waitress. The buffet was disgusting. The fish was undercooked, the shrimp was cold, the corn and green beans tasted like metal. Our waitress was very friendly and sweet. We will definitely NEVER go back.

Nothing tasted good. The beets on the salad bar were not pickled. The choice of dressings was paltry. The cucumber slices weren't peeled and the peels were bitter and waxed. The macaroni and cheese was horrible. The turkey wad deli-sliced and awful. Most things were too salty. Pitiful.

Good food, average service. It was clean and the food was actually to the table pretty quickly.

Service was great. Most of the food on the buffet bar was dried up. The last time we where there it was great. We where disappointed with this visit.

Bathrooms were extremely dirty, the food on the bar was old (hard biscuits, old gravy etc)

The food can be cold sometimes, and the restaurant can be dirty at times. Otherwise it a okay establishment.

Chelsea was an absolutely wonderful server. The food was great!

Service was lacking, server would ask do you want a refill disappear then come back 10 min later asking the same question while never having brought you a refill. The bar was Surf and Turf which was lousy at best. The fried shrimp were cold, the shrimp and rice just tasted really odd, and the steak was extremely fatty and lacking any flavor(however it was tender). Don't let the remodel fool you the Shoneys from your childhood won't be found here. For 2 adults to eat the bar and a drink each it was $37.89. I can go to many other restaurants and review much better service with excellent food for that price or less.

Shoneys was good. It was seafood/prime rib Friday. My favorite.

As soon as we walked in the manager yelled for the waitress and said "Were here to make money not friends". He was very rude to his staff as he barked orders at them like pack mules. The food tasted aweful. The steak was hard to chew and way too big! The desert was as hard as a brick. Nothing was clean and the bathrooms were filthy and smelt horrible. The only good thing about my experience was that the waitress was very sweet. We paid 14.99 per person for a meal I would not pay a penny for. I will not be coming back to this establishment again.

Food is always old and stale and the wait staff just seem to hate their jobs.

I enjoyed it very much. Needed rolls. They were out.. few minutes wait to be seated and a few more minutes for a waitress. Ice cream machine didn't work

Service was fantastic!! But all of the food was over cooked, dry, or slightly burnt.

I went on steak and sea food night. The steaks then had on the bar were small I am guessing tenderloins. They were very flavorful. I also had the mashed potatoes. mac and cheese and rolls. Their brown gravy is one my my favorites. Did not try any seafood

To my surprise they have renovated and now has a bar and all kind of new goodies. The food was good a need see place.

The inside was set up & designed really cool. The way the gift shop was set up was very cool. This Shoney's was simply unique & has a great view of the mountains.

Being that I'm from Florida. It's been a while since i've been to a Shoney's Restaurant. I'd have to say I really enjoyed myself. The server could've been better but I won't complain. The food was delicious...

Nice down home sit-down restaurant, nothing too fancy. Good food at a reasonable price?

I walked in this place, just bc it had been 25+ years since I had been to a shoney's as a kid. Found a seat, looked around, and got up and walked out. Dirty resturant, the buffet workers were changing out food without gloves. Unbussed tables everywhere. I won't be trying for a nostalgic childhood moment again. Gross!!!!

I had the breakfast buffet and coffee, as is my wont. The food was hearty and hot, and sated my carnivorous cravings. The coffee was hot and bitter, like the tears I shed when paying my bills, and the staff was attentive and cordial, unlike myself in social gatherings. I've been going to Shoney's restaurant for fifty years, longer than I've been alive, and they rarely disappoint my gustative requirements.

Of particular note was the kindness shown by the staff, in refilling my coffee. Not only was my waitress attentive and perspicatious of my coffee requirements, but another waitress saw my lowered level of java, and, like God on high granting succor to the Israelites wandering the desert in their time of need, refilled my coffee.

Dinner food is Not as good as it use to be. Ice Cream Dessert station was sad the last several times we were there. Prices went up. But The service is excellent from servers. And The cabbage beef soup is AMAZING!!

Ick. Just plain ick. If you are on a diet, you should eat here. Why? You won't eat a lot, that's why.

Salad bar was good. Enjoyed the collard greens on the food bar. Fried chicken was also good.

Haven't been to Shoney's for many years for breakfast buffet, was very good. Waitress, Jennifer, was very attentive and friendly.

The buffet was delicious and our server was very polite.

They had everything great and waitress are fast and get you anything you need or want.

Decided on stopping here with my better half and our son between the kid's pediatrician's appointments. I grew up enjoying Shoney's and was actually looking forward to a decent breakfast in a "familiar" setting. Not to mention sharing something I had enjoyed in my youth with my better half.
We arrived at about 9am - moderately crowded parking lot... normally a good sign.
I managed to choke down two small plates from the "buffet/ breakfast bar" before I simply gave up. Our waitress was friendly and reasonably attentive, though I guess if I had wanted that take away cup of coffee I ordered, I should have waited to mention how bland the food was.
After an already long morning, with more appointments looming, to say we were disappointed would be an understatement!

The service was great me and the food was terrific all the employees was very nice treat me with respect I would guarantee Shoney's to anyone

Service was good enough. The breakfast bar was about as expected, mostly flavorless.

We had an older lady as a waitress and she was rude and pushy. She made us uncomfortable by insinuating we might try to steal clam off of the salad bar if we didn't want the whole bar. We hadn't even made up our minds what we wanted yet. Had just sit down, so we asked for another waitress. After that, they all gathered in the kitchen and kept looking our way. We couldn't conduct our meeting as scheduled. We were also pushed to finish quickly because the second waitress needed to go home. Not sure I will be returning.

Old, dingy, food was just ok but their hospitality was nice. It would be nice if the senior discount wasn't only 50 cents off the bill. You read that correctly, 50 cents off.

Open 24 hours on the weekend.. That can get a little hectic... But it's like the first Shoney's ever so come on!!

Eat here often. Food has always been good and fast. Atmosphere is nice. Servers are always great.

The breakfast bar was gross , runny eggs , watered down gravey , lousy service . the rice on the bar was so hot (spicy) we couldn't eat it . we was sick for 2 days after eating there.

Food was terrible and my hair turned gray waiting for the food.

Shoneys is a great place to eat! You just have to make sure everything like lettuce/ salad bar is fresh

The food is just average it's not bad it'll certainly fill you up but it will not blow your mind.

We very seldom we eat there usually Sundays after church last time maybe a couple two three months ago but the waitress still remembered my grandmother and how she liked her coffee right down to the hazelnut creamer I was very impressed

The food is good. The waitstaff are nice and the prices are reasonable.

After an exhausting run I found myself 4 miles from home with no water and no money. I stopped at Shoneys in hope of getting some water. They gave me a smile and some water with no questions asked. THANK YOU!
