We had a positive furniture shopping experience with Mary Alice at Shofers. We had been looking for new sun room furniture for some time. Mary Alice worked with us and our designer and took the time to really listen to what we were looking for and help us find available sizes and models for our space. We are very happy with the sectional and swivel/ rocker/ recliners we purchased from Shofers. The quality is excellent and we are confident they will be with us for many years to come.Our sun room is now a comfortable and beautiful place for our family to spend time together. The place was terrific, and Frank, who we worked with was engaging and an expert at design. He could have talked to him for hours. The prices at Shofer's are a little eye-opening, but the quality of their merchandise is evident. Too bad they're not going to be around much longer. Hurry and scoop up some great deals!

We live in a very old home and have had a difficult time getting and "grown-up" sized furniture in certain areas of the home. Shofer's was great. We found a sectional that we thought would work. They send out a person to measure before we even ordered the furniture. It arrived to and we are thrilled. Everyone we dealt with were wonderful, from Brian who helped us pick our a style and fabric, the man who measured and to the young men who delivered the section. Thanks for a great experience and final product.

Great options, clearance floor, no hassle and friendly shopping. Prices vary. Sofas and beds and accessories are varied in options and styles.

Nice stuff but SUPER expensive so be rich an you will be fine.

Weird place. I stopped in with my husband because we have been looking for a loveseat for quite a while. The receptionist called a consultant to meet with us. We started on the first floor in the "loft" section, which has clearance items, and explained to the consultant that we were looking for a loveseat. He said "none of these come in loveseats" and left it at that. I asked if there were any loveseats for sale in the store. He explained that if I wanted a loveseat we would have to go through and see which models had loveseats and what styles and fabrics they came in and then sort of wandered off as if that process would be too much trouble. We were there for another 40 minutes or so looking through the different levels and never saw him again.

Went to Sofas Etc on Joppa the next day and bought a beautiful loveseat with the assistance of a very helpful and pleasant salesperson. We'll be replacing our sofa over the next year I'll definitely and will definitely return to Sofas Etc. rather than the stodgy, odd Shofer's.

First impression on end-of-day visit: Good selections, appropriately-lit and nicely decorated showroom, uninterested staff. UPDATE: We've been back to Shofer's twice since our first visit. Mary Jo and Allen in sales have been supremely helpful and front desk staff Octavia and others happy to help. It appeared others we came across on our first visit were store room or back office staff, but they didn't acknowledge us so we couldn't know that. Anyway thanks to Henry for reaching out, I still plan to follow up, just had a moment and thought I would post this update.

I bought beautiful furniture at a reasonable price. They were great to work with.

My experience at Shofer's was extremely positive. The salesperson, Ann, who was recommended to me was creative, knowledgeable and patient. Although I had some ideas, I was open to new ideas as well. My initial purchase was for a sofa, two chairs and fabric for another chair. Ann came to my home to get a feel for the space I was redecorating and the style of the furniture I wanted. I felt she was truly interested in helping me in this endeavor. She asked good questions to help begin the process. After deciding on the sofa and chairs, she put together some fabric swatches of colors I liked. She suggested I take the swatches home. We made several adjustments over time and came up with a combination that is absolutely stunning! I definitely went outside of my creative "box" and would never have done that without Ann's encouragement and suggestions. I love it!! Thank you Ann!!!

To make this experience even more positive, the delivery team headed by Ann (a different Ann) did everything to make a delivery on a Tuesday when we had a prior commitment. She worked with our schedule and made it happen. This was only 6 days before Christmas. The delivery men were respectful of our home, very competent and personable.

Thank you Shofer's!! I would highly recommend your company. It was a very positive experience.

Furniture is Absolutely Beautiful!!! Staff was amazing. Some of the staff were former coworkers from my Royal Furniture days. Glad to see these amazing people at Shofers.

Designer Joan Lee has been diligently working with us to select furnishings, artwork, and decor for our vacation home in Delaware for months now. Joan is extremely knowledgeable about multiple furniture manufacturers. She is very skilled at choosing fabrics and finishes. Joan stays "on top" of this whole house project so that we do not have to keep track of all the details of the project. She and Shofer's have been competively priced. She tracks our orders, schedules deliveries, and keeps us well informed. She follows up once the items have been delivered to assure we are satisfied with the outcome. Everyone at Shofer's has been extremely professional. We will keep returning to Shofer's for all of our home furnishing needs.

A little gem of a furniture store hidden away in South Baltimore. They still sell two sided mattresses! Double the life! Rare anywhere!

Shofer's provides the buying/sales experience that enables customers to find furniture that fits their tastes, their preferences, and their budgets.

Today my Wife and I had the pleasure to have worked with Alan Cole in finding and ordering two sofas which absolutely fit our needs and wants.

Alan assisted us in discussing the things that we most wanted in the sofas we wanted to ordered. Such basic details as the basic configuration, firmness of cushions, fabric, color and shape of legs, etc. were matters we shared with Alan.

Alan listened to what we said, answered our questions (the benefit of 'tied on' vs. loose back cushions), options for firmness of seat cushions (foam vs.spring), etc.

As a customer I look for a sales consultant who doesn't 'pitch' the product, but shows active listening empathetic understanding, and knowledge of the products and all of the variables that go into purchasing decisions. This enabled us to make our own decisions on what to buy.

Such a client backed approach is the hallmark of the best of salespersons.
My Wife and I had no trouble in making up our own minds and left us with a assurance that we made a well-informed and best decision to buy.

Kudos many times over for the professional level of service we receive at Shofer's.
P.S. We've returned to Shofer's many times over the years and found that they have earned our trust as their actions follow their words. Customer service par excellence is what we've consistently received.

Wonderful selection of quality furniture and friendly sales people. We have been multi-generation customers since my grandfather was personally waited on by Harry Shofer back in the 1940s!

My husband and I were able to furnish multiple rooms in our house at Shofer's Furniture. With the help from Brian Dermitt, we put together beautiful, timeless and eye popping looks! The quality is outstanding and the staff is wonderful! Thank you Shofer's!

They helped me with a 3 room purchase 12 years ago. Every piece of it is still beautiful and we sit on it everyday.

I purchased a bed a few years ago and it didn't work out for us when it was delivered. It was a floor sample that had additional damage when it was delivered. We returned the bed and during delivery, there are damage to the walls in our house. Shofers agreed to make the repairs unfortunately we were unable to connect with the repair guy. I have been out of the country for the last 18 month and upon my return Shofers has declined (refused) to make the repairs because of the amount of time. It is disappointing the company outsourced its problem and didn't stand behind their commitment. Sill trying to get the damages repaired.

$3000 for 6 dining room is absurd and that's the low end.

My experience at Shofer's was great today. I purchased an end table for my livingroom. The salesperson there gave me a great deal with 20% discount in addition to the sale price. I truly hate to see this furniture store close their door for good.

Their prices are probably the reason they're going out of business. Even during the "going out of business" sale prices were ridiculous.
Walked in, seen a lamp for $600 and a couch for $2000, I walked out

Drove all the way down there just to find out " they were close for the day ' well then why you running TV ads and why not say something on line before I drove down for nothing , bad business, that's probably why they closing in the first place 1/27/21

Shofers and in particular Mary Alice Mc Cullough deserve the highest compliment. Excellent selection and fairly priced. I had no specific room plan and finished with a cohesive design achieved in a non pressured manner. Shofers has a business model to be followed by others.
