Great facilities and helpful friendly staff in all departments. The price of membership is high, especially for a family, but there is always stuff going on, so you can see the money being put back in. I would highly recommended to anyone thinking of joining a gym in the Basingstoke area.
Under maintained for the number of members. It was sold to us as a capped members health club which is definitely isn't. Premium membership prices with average facilities. It wouldn't take much to improve the finer details.
Booked my beloved Mums wake around the venue and agreed the particulars only to be advised days later that they were not willing to hold the event. Orders of service and adverts now need to be amended. Luckily we have received a premier service from another venue. Cannot believe how rude and unprofessional the manager and the owner was! Would not recommend!!!! STAY AWAY!
We had our wedding reception here and WOW was very impressed. The food was amazing cooked to perfection. The rooms were decorated beautifully. The only let down was communication at the start but everything was perfect on the day. Would highly recommend.
Beechdown is a great health Club with friendly staff. Modern and very well equipped. There is plenty of activities and studio timetable is absolutely fantastic as well as their swimming pool area. My 5 year old daughter absolutely loves it too and keenly attends tennis classes and loves the kids area. Highly recommeneded.
Most appaling establishment I have ever been to. The facilities are mediocre and when we arrived there was building work taking place right next to the "relaxation" room. The manager Ian is rude and arrogant and told us he could stop the More
I just wanted to commend all the team for doing such a wonderful job on reopening. I am sitting in the sun watching my girls play tennis which they were so excited to get back to.
I've enjoyed a couple of outdoor classes and studio classes this week. The girls have been so pleased to get back in the pool.
It feels so safe and other than the extra hand gel and social distancing markers a big bit of normality back in our family life.
Shocking. The staff have an over familiar tone with new customers. My wife and I were led to the rear of the gym and asked questions all the way, we were never introduced and never even offered a coffee. Having worked in this industry, I am appalled at the attitude of this female member of staff. She even asked my wife if she had ever even been in a gym. She mocked the fact that we had no children and continued to be sarcastic and belittling to us both. I found her rude, demonstrative and very unprofessional, and for that reason, we will not be going to that gym. I welcome any feedback.
Awfull place.Rude Duty Manager.Shoddy facilities.Md is not renowned for his " people skills" Turnover of staff speaks for itself! Simple things seem to be a challenge to Beechdown Health Club.MD hasn't a clue how to treat his staff either except with contempt!.Would not recommend it to relax in ...Avoid working there too ..Nasty atmosphere..
Super Club for all ages & abilities with fab instructors :) Lots of facilities from Badminton/Tennis/Squash through Gym Complex, Spin/Circuits & Studio based BodyAttack, Balance, Combat, Jam, Pump classes (both Instructor & Virtual led), Kids Club, Pool, Brasserie etc. etc. - i'd highly recommend
Receptionist is a joke she s constantly got a bad attitude towards members... and as a paying member I expect to be treated with the same respect I treat others..... I believe her name is carol middle aged lady blonde hair....
Me and my family are members and we love the place very nice spa pool .but since past 3 4 times been now had nothing but problems since .some parents need to sort thay lives out and respect and morals to others .if would of known this i would of never signed up for a year.
I've been going to Beechdown for 3 years now and enjoy every visit. The new builds this year have been amazing, especially the virtual studio. If you're on the fence I can't recommend enough.
Unfortunatley this is the best health spa in the basingstoke area and they know that. For example they have created a platitnum plus membership and the only perk is a fresh towel. Which to me is rediculous. We should be getting them with the normal memberships at the price we pay.
Yes there are plus points, like the pool which is incredibly relaxing, due to the desgn and ambient lighting etc, but can be over filled with chlorine a lot of the time. However, there is no private routes from the dressing rooms to the pool for both genders. It just feels very weird and awkward.
It is not an adult only health spa/pool only which can be an issue.
This is the only spa/gym in the area so they can dictate. All it will take is a virgin active to be built and they would be forced to lower prices or they will go out of business.
However, there new sanctuary is a plus, at least you can see where some of the money is going from the overpriced memeberships.
Been a member for just over a month and so far the experience has been the best I've had with any gym. The facilities are top notch, with every modern convenience you'd expect from a gym including "set your own pass code" lockers and a chemical free pool.
The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly without being too pushy like you might have experienced in other gyms. The monthly price includes so much for your money, with a full pool and spa experience, fitness assessments and access to badminton, tennis and squash coaching.
This really is the best gym in the area by quite a margin, and if you can afford to pay a bit extra, you get a much better holistic experience for it.
The facilities are good to be fair, but absolutely ruined by the appalling customer services of the management team.
As soon as a Virgin gym opens within 10 miles half the members will disappear immediately, as everyone moans about how rude the staff are. I have personally written off to the more elite gym chains to let them know there is need for them to come to the Basingstoke area, as Beechdown is currently the only option (for now).
Not that the management team will take any notice whatsoever of this review and continue to bury their heads in a beach of arrogance as always.
A friendly atmosphere and good facilities (squash, tennis, badminton, classes, decent gym with a good free weights section). Some good post work-out food as well.
What a lovely place to relax. It's good to know here that they have a very comfortable relaxing spa and fitness in this place. Nice and good services. All the staffs are attentive and friendly. Awesome!
Phoned up to enquire about membership and got a blunt lady on phone was advised she was to busy to run me through details. Did not offer to take my details to get someone to call me back and told me to just come down. Poor service towards someone who is new to the area and looking for facilities
We are members so we book our kids into the kids club, go and gym and then go for a nice swim. The sanctuary (for adults only) has a lovely steam room, sauna, shower (mint infused), foot spas and heated beds to relax on. Best decision we ever made is joining this place (expensive but worth it).
Massively overpriced, the gym is outdated and small and the gym instructors spend their entire shift sat down on their phones. There's always something closed due to 'maintenance' and the over inflated price is constantly going up! The opening times are extremely restrictive and the food in the restaurant made me feel ill. Don't bother joining.
Very High Staff Turnover Leaks Everywhere/Ceiling Tiles Need Replacing Overpriced Gym Rude Receptionist (Carol) Owner Looks Down On People Low Food Hygiene Rating Something Always Closed For Maintenance
Sewage Coming Up Through The Drain In The Ladies Changing Rooms Last Year Also.
Really look forward to my trips to Beechdown. Particularly enjoy the gym and running machines, followed by dip in the pool, a sauna and then a beer in the Brasserie. Been a member for 20 years. Recommend highly!
Owner and Manager are rude, arrogant, incompetent and obnoxious. Staff is unpleasant, lies, is completely disorganized. The place is dirty, unkept, smelly and disgusting. Hygiene is clearly a rude word there. The worst of British in one building. In civilized countries you would not survive 1 month in business.
My first visit....found on the Internet and booked a pamper spa day deal on New Years Eve for me and a friend. Excellent all round. We loved the whole experience. Great service with friendly, helpful staff. The steam room wasn't serviceable and we were offered the detox room and sunbed as an alternative. The day included lunch, morning coffee and a half hour treatment, with a ladies lounge area and superb massage chairs. ....great value and will definitely return.
