Nice hotel with - mostly - fantastic views...
Recently renovated, so all is well
Nice location and fast good service but the hotel is old
Excellent location overlooking the Mediterranean sea. Neat and clean rooms.Good service.
Nice location on beach (Cafe) , friendly staff, I really enjoyed
Very good location and view. Hotel is very old and not maintained but staff are great and very friendly and helpful.
I spent a couple of days on a business trip, and I have to say the staff here made my life much easier. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and sanitized. Food is ok, and they serve two kinds of breakfast right to your room, which is very convenient in the midst of coronavirus. Currently the hotel is undergoing some maintenance however, they're still managing to sustain their service quality very well. Parking is available although it's unshaded. Last but not least, the view is simply breathtaking and worth the visit and the beach is quite nice too.
Nice very old cosy hotel but definitely need some renovation
The hotel is perfect and the location is phenomenal if you don't have anything to do inside of downtown Alexandria. The only comment that stopped me from a full 5 stars is the parking system is very slow and you need to give yourself a good 15 minutes before leaving the hotel
We have visited this location several years ago and were not happy. Recently we revisited it after learning of the change of management from Sheraton to Marriott, Unfortunately, the place needs much more effort to be on par with other hotels of similar category. In particular, the staff need a lot of training and discipline to manage the place and tackle problems, not make it worse. The hotel has a nice pool, and a strip of sand beach just across the road. But to reach the beach one needs to cross a two way multiple lane wide street, with many vehicles approaching at high speed and at a curve, making it very dangerous and certainly puts guests' lives crossing that road at huge risk. The Hotel obviously takes this lightly since it does not run a shuttle bus or van to the beach. Additionally, the shallow water at the beach presumably suitable for swimming is quite filthy and littered with plastic bags full of garbage. The staff assigned are - as expected-quite focused on swimmers but unfortunately oblivious to the extent of garbage in water. Also those beach Staff, well intended as they seem- do not move fast enough to defuse any potential altercation that could arise from guests, who in turn are apparently accustomed to the general atmosphere of lack of discipline from most, but not all Hotel staff. One night, my wife, myself and our son were returning to the Hotel after dining out, leftovers were wrapped up for us in a small neat box. They insisted not only to inspect it, but also to confiscate that small box of left over food we had with us. I told the Receptionist I was Marriott Member for 25 years -shows at my Check In- but that info was not of any importance to him. I had to write a complaint which received commendable attention from the courteous Mr Amin Selim, but it was too late. Other Receptionist staff such as Manal were uncouth scoffing away what had happened, saying I should expect this when in Egypt!! and that as far as she knows Hotel Managers do not really care about online reviews!!. Finally, I'd consider the Hotel not having 24 hours security based on the very loose state of security on their beach as well as en route to and from their beach.
Amazing friendly staff sparkly clean rooms but its alittle bit far from Alex famous places
Great location. Hotel is kind of old and tired but staff are trying to give good experience. We were given a room with dirty toilet. Spoke to front staff who changed rooms right away.still another old and tired room.but over all OK experience. Will it be my first choice next time, defensively no
It was a short stay..Spectacular view.. great service and thoroughly enjoyed the Private beach. Although, they can be more diverse with their breakfast menu !
I wouldn t advise anyone to stay here, pay extra and stay somewhere clean and decent.
The toilets are unbearable not cleaned well or maintained in a good condition and extremely cramped and everything is rusty.
The room is also very small 2 people can barely pass each other inside the room.
Most of the furniture is worn out the doors of the cupboards and lockers won t even close!! and not worth a brand like Sheraton or Marriott.
I m really looking forward to leaving tomorrow.
This hotel standards keep declining at a very fast rate not fit of the Marriott brand or of its excellent location.
Definitely not worth the price: very old hotel with out to date equipment and furniture. Also the acoustic insulation of the room, facing Alexandria Corniche, is very poor. Needs a complete refurbishment.
You will not get a value out of the money paid,
It is only a great location.
It was horrible experience, my first time in Alexandria , so i booked there knowing its Sheraton 5*s Hotel
Its unfair to be rated 5*s as it very old , exhausted rooms of million year of using
Staff is not good not bad
Breakfast was very bad , very restricted , there bar acts like kabareh (Egyptian disco) with bad voice girls singing loudly making killer noise
Not satisfied at all , i wish i could get money back lol
I like this hotel in Alexandria. Rooms a bit small but cozy. Outside sea view from windows is very nice. Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Spa services are available but for restricted timing. I couldn't avail it.
Charming view. But air conditioning was not working during our stay as they was facing technical difficulties as per reception feedback.
Good things:
the sea view room is so good with a spectacular view (one of the best I ever saw), The staff are all smiling and friendly, Breakfast is good, the hotel location is perfect and close to a lot of nice restaurants, the pool is nice and clean
..
Bad things:
Room size is small with a very small bathroom, kind of old furniture, the food is not variable although good quality, You have to cross the main street to reach the private beach which is kind of scary and embarrassing, the parking is more expensive than the exactly neighboring government parking (the two lanes are separated by just a fence, posted a photo of them)
Apart from the staff very kind, very helpful, fluent in English , there is not much to say. The facility needs urgently a renovation. It's like a travel back in time, a '70s experience. Other than that, it is not clean and prices are high. No value for the money you pay. There is a bar, on the 1st floor, which appears to had been a disco back in the day, where if you are a woman and need to powder your nose, you have to go two floors down. WC only for the gentlemen, up there.
It is one if the best hotel , we going back on 17/11/2020 in two days. We love the location and the uograde
Good location and nice view plus you have the option to change currency from the ATM specially dollars
This is now my favorite hotel in Alexandria. Way better value for money than the Hilton. Also, staff is more friendly
It has a wonderful location but has a small size lobby.
It is fantastic but my only problem was that the room was little bit small and not a lot of outlets were there
The best in Alexandria. Good view. In front of the sea. Nice facilities. But expensive.
You can see the mold on the walls , u can smell it and actually feel the spores go into your lungs , by far this is the worst hotel experience ever , the hotel doesnt seem like it ever had any updates or maintenance . Breakfast was below average, couldn't wait to leave .
Staff was helpful and the breakfast was very nice but very old building and not even clean or recently renewed.
Amazing view taking the coastline and the royal montazah palace viewing all the associated gardens and tourist attractions
Expensive parking lot.. the cars are packed on top of each others there is no underground garage it is just a small area beside the hotel.. poor parking for a five stars hotel
Nice .. but i believe it's overrated no way its 5 stars Hotel
So old, stafe friendly but not good helping exact, beach so clean and secure, bathroom not good as all
Nice staff, pleasant stay, yummy cheese lovers pizza and Turkish coffe
A bit old hotel, but the view from the room was breathtaking! Breakfast was good too.
It is a beautiful place I loved it very much and advise every one to choose it to stay in Alexandria
Although it's kind of old hotel, service is really good, I had smooth check in, good breakfast buffet, nice pool and private beach area (you must cross the street to reach it), overall it's good value for money
Location is great, some rooms can view the sea and Montaza palace at the same time. Rooms are small and out dated and all in all not as good as Helnan next to it.
It was extremely good and staff is friendly rooms are clean they take care of Corona precautions all of the staff wears mask ,even in the beach whenever any one comes to sit they clean it also they put hand sterilizer every were it was a great experience .
Wonderful hotel amazing view
You have to get sea view room
We stayed here last November. Very nice sea view. Rooms are really comfortable. Staffs are very helpful. We enjoyed our stay
Good
But there is no enough service for towel sugar salt in the room and the shicha not very well coz the tubes of it not not close in the plactique bag
Beautiful hotel , clean rooms , very good food , sea view rooms are awesome , friendly staff , very good value for money
I just wanna ask a question, how is that a 5 star hotel? Seriously this is one of the worst hotels i have ever stayed at, rooms are small and limited to say the least, food is below average, they got their tvs from probably a dumpster that hotel is a shame to sheraton and who ever owns this branch should be jailed for life, i wouldnt even stay an hour there, i wouldnt stay there for free i would rather stay at the streets, please for the love of god dont ever book in this peace of garbage that they call a 5 star hotel, if i would give that a 0 i wouldve
The rooms are outdated.some defects.prices are over exaggerated. Reception was bad with no communication skills and some times border line insulting at times.the price you book is not the price you pay
Expectrd better , the sea view is very nice and also Motazah Gardens view
It was a very good experience. Room was cleaned had very thing on it. Staff are more than friendly . There was a guy helped us to stop car and cross road. Good place for relaxing . Food was good too.
I wasn't happy at all.
-Beach is so dirty and full of small plastic pieces that sticks on the kids skin, hair and swimsuits.
-Allowing the guests to go inside the pool with thier cloth on, I saw two with a Jean's shorts and a shirts, also when someone complained the manager said " sorry we cant do anything about it"
-Pool became yellowish from the sand n peoples clothing.
Finally If u r wearing a normal swimsuit, this is definitely not ur place.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They booked my car from the Cairo airport and also for the next day for me while I was in Alexandria.
The hotel is in need of renovations and some deep cleaning but inline with what I have found in Cairo hotels.
Good room with decent price.. You can ask about courner room that has a L-shape balacony
Good hotel, view and workers but the location is not very good.
Nice view of Alexandria. Great service, clean and well maintained.
Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, this refined business hotel is across the street from the beach and a 13-minute walk from Montaza Palace.
Straightforward rooms and suites come with Wi-Fi (fee), cable TV and minibars. Upgraded quarters add balconies, sea views and/or access to a club lounge; 1 suite has a kitchenette. Room service is available 24/7. Kids age 12 and under stay free.
There are 3 high-end restaurants, 1 open seasonally. Other amenities include bars, a nightclub, a sea-view outdoor pool and a gym, plus a business center and 6 meeting rooms. The hotel operates a private beach. The club lounge serves complimentary breakfast.
The sea view is marvellous with partial view of Montazah palace gardens... the breakfast is very good with wide selections. The rooms are a bit small specially toilets but manageable
Great location and professional staff.
Beds were comfy and clean.
The room was very small and so was the bathroom .. Also the furniture was dated.
Cleanliness needs a lot of improvement especially for the bathroom.
All and all enjoyed the stay and the hospitality.
I believe little bit away of Starwood standards as per the following; Front office rep.talked to the guest, finalize RC while he was seat I believe as receptionist need to stick to front office sops.
No Hair drier in the room which is 5 stars hotel criteria.
Furniture need for renovation plan.
Lower quality of some of breakfast buffet items as white cheese and some of bakeries.
Great staff.. great rooms ... Really great experience
Nice views in sea view rooms..... But the rooms are small......
