It's an old hotel, which I usually like. However, it's getting a bit seedy, and doesn't provide enough value for the money in my estimation. The elevators are *very* noisy, making an entire corner of the hotel pretty uncomfortable. The noise woke me up a couple times and I had to move rooms the next day. It's good that I could do that, but bad that I had to do that. If you stay here, ask for a room as far away from the elevators as possible. They also couldn't seem to manage to communicate with my company in spite of several requests, so I had to pay the bill out of my own pocket. At something like $300/night (once you add in the taxes and fees), that's a nontrivial amount of money to cary for the month it will take to get the reimbursement. Would rather stay somewhere that was more accommodating about things like company billing.

Relatively nice hotel. Do not go here if you want to be able to connect with your office. Wireless internet is incredibly slow (5 mg or less). Building engineer came to the room and said all rooms had similar slow speed. It seems to me that this is a very basic thing - disappointing and frustrating - especially for $300/night.

Would have liked to know that it wasn't okay to walk around in my provided bathrobe. Why provide a bathrobe if I can't walk around in it?? Overall, had a lovely time. Just felt embarrassed around teenage boys.

Very bad experience with the service in this Hotel...

Very bad experience with the service in this Hotel. We came 6:00 AM and ask if we can have early check in as we had requested by email. And we were asked to wait till they give us a call. So we had breakfast at the cafe closed to the hotel and even walked around Harvard till around 11:00. Since we did not get a call we finally went back to see the staff on the front desk to ask if our room is ready. And she said we will be able to check in at 13:00. Since it is only 2 hours left, we thought it is better to wait in the cambridge area rather than heading of to Downtown Boston. We also hoped that we could freshen up first before we go anywhere. Anyway, we got back at 13:30 and the lady and the Manager (who claim to not have a business card) said that the guest staying in the room asked for a late check out and they made a mistake by granting them the requested time until 17:00 PM. So, we can not have our room till then. We are platinum members and it was disappointing that they would be so disrespectful of our time. I can only imagine how much worse they would treat non member guest. In the end we just did not want to argue with the staff or the so called manager, who did not even give us any solution, that we just decided to head to Boston till 8pm. We only stayed one night and we will make sure we will never go back to this hotel again. There are no profesionals working in this hotel, and we had lost half day of our one day vacation in Boston just circling around the hotel.
Thank you to the staff and manager of this sheraton for treating us the way you did. I hope this will not happened to other guests.

Had a clean double bedroom and a super nice shower with a large walk in closet, so that part was nice. But I had forgotten an HDMI chord so I couldn't watch anything but cable and the outlets were so loose you couldn't use them. For a nice place you'd expect it to be in the 21st century

Lovely hotel. Rooms have a historic feel but are updated to contemporary standards. The hotel is near Harvard and the downtown area. Maybe a little away from restaurants and shops if you're looking for a quick outing. The staff are friendly and very efficient. From other reviews gleaned that the elevator was pretty small...it is indeed, very small. Just an observation, not a complaint. Very enjoyable.
