My husband passed away January 18th. I am still waiting for my check. They mailed the first one to the wrong address. I was told last Monday they would get one to the right address right away. I contacted them today (8 days later) and was informed the adjuster was looking into it and would probably be mailed this week. In the mean time I have people to pay for the memorial service. Not happy
The truth behind their facade: I'm not a policy holder but I am a healthcare rep. On today, I called this office with questions in regards to a patient's policy. Instead of being greeted with the friendly service that many of you all speak of, I was told there is a 6min time limit that I have to be on the phone despite the fact that I was getting the primary benefits on behalf of one of the patients. Soon, an auditor got on the phone, told me that the questions that I was asking her were "a waste of time" and hung up. Of course, they'd be nice to those with a policy because they need your business. But, in terms of health care providers? I'm convinced that they could give 'hoot' about us. First time calling them, last time working with them. Never again.
Called on 11/24/20 to get a review on my policy, spoke with Karen, very professional and knowledgeable, answered all my questions, highly recommend
They have charged my checking account on 7/22/19,for a policy I have already cancelled!
After spending over two hours on the phone,being transferred from one to another department and several individuals,They did acknowledge their error and CONSIDER to Refund me in 2-6 weeks!!!

I tried to get in touch with you all on Friday but never could, all I wanted was to find out if the check I sent to you for Dean Rorrers insurance had arrived
They may be fine for making policies, but they DO NOT answer their phones for death claims. I stayed on the line for 30 minutes. If you leave a message about a claim they DO NOT return calls....ever. If there was a zero, I would give them that. Once someone passes away it is hard enough to deal with those changes. But by not getting responses from those holding the decreases funds, that is very bad business. A letter states they will get back with you in 15 days. It has been almost 30. They finally recently got in touch with me about the policy. So I will increase their review rating. I hope they begin by answering their phones to everyone and build strength in their company again
Bought policy in 1970 so naturally I have put a fortune into this policy. Dumbest purchase in my almost 80 years. Cant get thru to local office and wanted to find out if they had a local office I could come to. Waiting on an answer. Would not recommend Shenandoah Life to anyone.
I called and I can't get anyone on the phone. They have multiple prompts and none of them lead me to wanting to start a new policy. I tried to leave a voicemail on the "policy holder" mailbox in hope of speaking to someone or them leading me to the proper department bu the mailbox is full.
Sent incomplete 1099-R forms to my brother and I. They have not provided any help for the past week. Messages left on voicemail have not been responded to. An agent assured me a manager would contact me, and they never did. Automated system says hold time is ten minutes and it has been a half hour. Spoke to another agent today, and again I have to wait for someone to contact me.....

Am on hold and was on hold so long yesterday that I hung up. I can't stay on phone forever. No prompt of a wait time to give me some idea how long the wait time is. I need to speak to someone and ask a question for my mother who was on a three-way call waiting with me yesterday, until we both got tired of holding yesterday. What is wrong with this company? The time is about 1:30 on Wednesday, October 7, 2020.
