Shannondell at Valley Forge Review

The rehab center is terrible. They just killed my grandfather. All they are worried about is revenue. The staff subtlety makes joke around the elderly. If you care about your family DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT send them here. My grandfather was supposed to be check on every 30 minutes or something like that and the morning he died, they were 15 minutes late. That s a 45 minutes window that could have saved his life.

I have been visiting Shannondalle for awhile now. The food has always been great. Until recently. I am very disappointed in their quality of food and the portions that they provide. The servicebis still great and they go above and beyond.

Great facility. My Mom has been I'm residence for the past 10 years and loves all about Shannondell. People and staff.

If you want your loved one to be well taken care of AND well fed, send them to Shannondell! I loved working here while I was in nursing school, and after I became a fully registered nurse. You heard horrible stories about neglectful nursing homes, that let people languish... not at Shannon dell. I would give ten stars is could. Best place ever

Run by a bunch of bafoons. Horrible place to work for. Even worse place for your parents or loved ones to live in. Incompetent management worried about one thing, revenue. If you care about your family keep them far away. If it were possible to give 1/2 a star or less I would.

My friend lives here. Beautiful place and great food and events.

The staff is very, very personable. The servers are the best, always smiling and always willing to make our dinners nice, no matter what. There are 3 that we always hope we get. Richard G, Gabriella H and Miranda H. These 3 make us feel like we are with family. Keep up the great work.

Kids from work are employed there. That place is immaculant. For rich people.

I work in EMS every time i drop a patient off the staff are there to greet them and to see if there is anything they can help them with. There isn't the nursing home smell that most facilities have either. I would trust these people with my family. On the plus side it's a very nice facility all together.

This is my very first online review for anything! I hope it s my last!
My 86-year-old mother had knee replacement surgery the day before Thanksgiving. She was using a walker at the hospital and doing great Thanksgiving morning.... I moved her to Shannondell Meadows for rehabilitation where she began to deteriorate quickly because they left her pain management get out of control. That caused her blood pressure to start going up, she began to get a fever. We had all the necessary paperwork given to us by the hospital including hand written prescriptions for her pain management but they were still not allowed to give her anything until they spoke to a doctor which there was none on the property Thanksgiving day! People who are in the medical profession are there by choice which means it should not matter what day of the year it is. Top-notch care must always be at the front. We were told a Dr. might be in Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday.....
I don t know what their aftercare is like when it s a normal working day I can tell you they are horrible if it s a holiday. Letting someone s pain management get out of control can cost someone their life! I am trying to get her out of there somewhere else! Do not send your loved ones there !
The facility itself is secure and top-notch, but unless the care is the top-of-the-line what good are those other things!!

Beautiful senior living community! Everything you need located on grounds or just across the street. Gated community w 24 hour security gate

this place is amazing it is spectacularly decorated in the outside well-manicured. This is the perfect place for someone 70 and older to finish up life. It's all wheelchair accessible and has an incredible number of activities and services for old people. When I get old this is where I'd like to be

Only been here 2 nights

My wife was in rehab for 21 days after knee replacement surgery and received excellent care. Some therapist were better than others but overall she was well taken care of. The meals were excellent and the staff was very caring. Social services provided all the needed information regarding insurance and entitlements. I could recommend Shannondell to anyone.

This is a very well-maintained, inviting complex, all around and in every facility.

I have spent most of my time in the theater, performing with productions by Methacton Community Theatre. The performers all come as visitors, and as a visitor I found that there is limited visitor parking in Shannondell. Understandable, seeing as this is a residential community more than an attraction. Thankfully there are shuttles between auxiliary parking lots and the theatre when major events are taking place.

Other times I've walked by a small gym, a pool, and some walking grounds. It's a pretty large complex, so there is probably a lot more to see on top of more residential space.

All in all, it is a nice place, with a number of services and outlets available to residents.

This is where'd I'd want to live when I get old. Top notch facilities.

Wowza! During the Covid-19 Pandemic the staff at Shannondell has been absolutely caring, thoughtful, loving and so supportive of the residents. We thank all of them for their tremendous efforts to keep our Mom and her friends safe, happy and healthy!!

They were very great to my mother when she had to have her rehab from when she had a major heart surgery they are kind caring staff personal i would recomend IT to anyone

Watched a production of MCT's Beauty and the Beast. That spoon was too cute. Nice theater. The busses/shuttles are tiny tho. Was impressed with the inside of the main building

Guard at the gate openly racist.
I had come to pick up someone and needed to get in,it was raining heavily and the guard insisted on having the person walk a mile in a storm to meet with the driver at the guard shack. It was unacceptable and he used his power and policy to humiliate me. I cannot recommend anyone visit this place whatsoever. Ridiculous.

Great retirement community.your loved ones are safe here

I lived in shannodel and worked as a caregiver and it was the most beautiful experience I ever had I will miss shannodel.

The apartment are large, and the hallways are always clean, the staff is helpful. Never see a lot of staff in the hallways, but at front desk, they are always helpful and knowledgeable of buildings.. complex is very large...

Great property and activities many and good are they

I could never afford to live there. But a very classy place with lots to do.

I am so disappointed and disgusted how the rehab center only has one nurse for 20 patients.. my dad is in rehab and they are always late giving blood thinners and his medication and they yell at you because you ask questions and they are over stressed. I would never recommend this place to anyone and I can name all the nurses who are horrible if anyone would like. Totally disgusted

Don t send your loved ones there if you love them. I would ve given 0 stars if I was able to. My grandmother was sent there for rehab after a fall and was manhandled; resulting in a broken hip, that required emergency surgery and then we moved her into a much better run and more caring facility. Don t be fooled by the nice facade, there is nothing of substance behind it.

My sister lives at Shannondell and she loves it. We love to visit. The offerings for residents and their guests are of outstanding quality and of seemingly endless verity. A lovely place. Visit yourself and discover all there is to retirement life there.

Mother-in-law lives here. Feel good she does. Father-in-law has been moved to the Medows mental care. This is on site and Mother-in-law can visit.

A beautiful facility for all older adults w excellent care for those who need it.

It is the best place for elderly people to live excellent treatment

Shannondell Theater!
Review only pertains to the theater. The theater is a very good size, roughly 250 seats which are rather plush and quite comfortable. They are set up so there really is not a bad seat in the house, unless of course you have a pro basketball player in frontier of you or an old lady with a football helmet bouffant.
Sound system is quite good.
There are ramps and good seating available for handicapped folks.
One note of advice: if you plan to see a show get there early. Because it is in a retirement community and the old folks line up to get in and they take a long time getting to the seats.
