We have traveled with 2 adults and one child who is 8 years old. We arrived at the hotel a day before booking. We have been given the room, but we had to wait until the room was ready until 4 pm. When we got to the room, we had not received the extra bed and staff have said that the extra bed should come around 5 pm-6pm. Then we went out to dinner and came back to the hotel around 9 pm. And we still have not received the extra bed for our child. I had to call the central table and ask for the extra bed for my child, then we waited almost 30 minutes before the bed arrived.
Wifi was also not available. Had to call and asked a couple of times, but got together to answer that we just search for the name of the hotel and accept the condition so we could get wifi. We tried but it just came and went all the time. It was a disappointing experience with the 4-5 star hotel that we expected.

The hotel has enough space to relax, and the pianist plays music in the evening. There is also a garden outdoor pool and gym. Every waiter is very enthusiastic. They are very active in caring about the needs of the guests, often With a smile on his face. Come here and remember to try their buffet breakfast, the Shangri-La Hotel's buffet in Chiang Mai is the cheapest in Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. The only fly in the ointment is that the Shangri-La Hotel in Chiang Mai is a little older than other Shangri-La hotels, or it is perfect.

Unlike other Shangri-La i have been to, the amenities such as razors, loofah, combs, cotton pads, and even L occitane standard toiletries were not available. Instead, there were only 4 bottles of lower quality soaps and shampoos etc. It is disappointing to see such skimping especially for Shangri-La. Also, as a PPS krisflyer member with Singapore Airlines, Jade tier should be complimentary but even after my stay, no changes at all. Infinite journey program with Shnagri-la, not reflected at all.

All hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The receptionist took me to the room. Quick response technicians when arranging meeting rooms (chairs and sound systems).
Breakfast is also good, there are instructions for food containing pork so for Muslim guests can choose halal food.

All five-star hotels in Chiang Mai seem to be fine.
However, what gave the Shangri-La Hotel the highest satisfaction score,
This is because I was impressed by the 5-star service.

I visited the Shangri-La Hotel for the 1st anniversary
I would like to visit again for the 2nd anniversary of next year.

Thanks for the good memory.

When you visit this hotel you feel like a king. When you look out the window you look like your in a castle. The lobby has a signature smell that makes you feel calm and you can see golden walls and an elephant statue. The food is fit for a king especially during seafood night. There's even a live performance of a guy playing the piano.

Great hotel with great staff and services. The facilities are excellent including an excellent gym and a lovely pool with splashzone and plenty of activities for children. Shangri la is one of my favourite hotel chains and Chiang Mai lives up to the brand.

Nice place. Close to night bazaar. Lots of cafe and food around. Away from city center. Room service can be improved, floor seem to be not cleaned throughout my 3 night stay. My husband got eaten up by mosquitoes!

Very nice hotel! Swimming pool so big and nice as well! It s great five star hotel! Good location, walk to the night bazaar in 10 minuets.

It is the most popular 5 star hotel in Chiang Mai! The swimming pool is very large, the service is very good, the ground is very superior, and it takes about ten minutes to get to the night market!

It was our impromptu wedding anniversary getaway trip with the little one, and the Chiang Mai Club Lounge team led by Bow took care of us every day with our needs, even went all out to help us get hold of a nail clipper as we forgot to trim our son's nails before traveling. Nice view from room/ bathroom; bed was too comfortable; club access kept us from going hungry/ thirsty; breakfast was scrumptious - our son loved the delicious oatmeal; everyone at the hotel was so friendly and helpful; bed set up for the little one was the cutest with a huge, huge teddy bear and Marvel sheets - what a pleasant surprise! The night market was also within walking distance and we had fun walking around soaking in all the colors and sights. We also ended up heading back to hotel after checking out after three days, and staying an extra night with special rates due to our flight delay .

Only regret was that we didn't get to swim as much as we wanted to as the water was slightly chilly due to the cool weather. Everything was perfect. We will definitely try to return again!

I was here for an event hosted at the hotel. Even though I did not stay here it seemed like a really nice hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The interiors of the building are really beautiful. There's plenty of places to relax and enjoy the view. They also have a really nice garden and swimming pool.

The room is large, looking out to the pond, and quiet. I was wrong about the swimming pool, but the water was colder in December. I tried a few restaurants. I preferred the Da Antonio Italian restaurant, which is ten to fifteen minutes on the left side of the door. Haowei, a total of Bht1000-1500 for two. Go to the night market on the right side of the door. There is a Thai-style Lemongrass near the Hard Rock Cafe. , But Thai Whole Earth is expensive and tastes average. Take the Grab airport to the hotel about Bht 200, which is convenient. With the one-day group booked in the hotel to the national park, Bht1300 per person, not bad. Stayed for four nights and enjoyed breakfast four times.

Felt secure with hotel's strict procedures on security and COVID prevention. Staffs were nice and helpful. Room was of expected Shangri-la standard, which is excellent. Food in China House restaurant can be improved, but this is subjective.

All-in-all, a very pleasant stay. Thank you.

It was one of the most memorable stay I've ever had. The room size is spacious enough for my wife and I. However, the facilities seem to be a little dated and the T.V. has very limited channel to watch.

The cleanliness is good. The staff are friendly.

The best part of our stay was the breakfast. Although the buffet was not available due to the pandemic of Corona Viruses, we were able to order the food as much as we need. The food was excellent.

In summary, we are very pleased to stay with Shangri-La Chiangmai.

Been here a few days and love it. Super kid friendly. They brought us a bed and crib for our 1yo and 3yo. A baby bathing tub, a huge teddy bear, a bottle sterilizer, and a kit of toiletries for both of them. Pool is super fun for the kids and breakfast is delicious.

polite and helpful staff and good food too
on the way to the hotel, we requested a carseat but did not get it.
on the return trip to the airport, we got a car seat but it was forward facing and perhaps should have been cleaned more often.
otherwise we appreciate the gesture in providing the car seat
rooms and grounds abit dated but spacious

Shangri la always lived up to its brand promise no matter which Shangri la I stayed in.

Unfortunately, my recent stay at the Shangri la Chiangmai was let down by the poor management of the breakfast table ushering system. For two mornings in a row, the table i was shown to was subsequently and within minutes occupied by another guest while i was away getting my food. I had to move to another table.

To add insult to injury, when i was away getting more food for my breakfast, the staff cleared my table to get it ready for another guest.

On the second morning, i decided to inform the usher to ensure that no one would be ushered to the table i was assigned. Minutes later, when i returned to the table, another well dressed businessman whom i did not know had occupied the same table. I had once again to be shown to another table.

In many other hotels, the ushering staff simply put a card on the table to indicate that "This table is occupied. Kindly return this card to any staff before you leave." Print it in a few well known languages and i am sure this problem will be resolved once and for all.

I hope Edward, the duty manager i spoke with would look into this. He promised to do so.
