Shakertown Apartments Review

I ve lived here since 2019 and I cannot wait to leave. The apartment itself isn t all that bad, it s the management that is bad. I ve had several issues with broken doors, broken hot water tank, etc. that go days without any attention from management or maintenance. Maintenance enters my apartment without any notice, and also leaves my garage door open while I m not home that contains expensive bikes and other equipment. Shakertown may have good rates on their apartments, but do yourself a favor and spend your rent money elsewhere. It s just not worth it.

I lived here for two years after relocating to Canton for my job. It is a safe community and the staff is very friendly. It is also affordable, but not modern. I wasn't a fan of the electric heat, but my apartment was always warm in the winter. I only had a few maintenance requests in the two years I lived there and maintenance was very quick to fix the problems. The area is very nice and the apartments are conveniently located right across from Lake Cable. Belden Village is also only a 5 minute drive away. I would highly recommend if you are looking for an affordable place in the area.

I currently live here, and the floors are paper thin. My upstairs neighbors like to smoke drugs and have a bunch of people over until 2-3am. They also like to get up and smoke weed first thing in the morning and walk all around above my bedroom at 7am. I've called and complained multiple times and even called Jackson PD, and they're still doing it almost every day.

I'd recommend an apartment with thicker floors so you don't hear every footstep, and where they enforce the lease so you don't have to have your apartment smelling like your neighbor has a pet skunk.

I lived there for ten years and loved ever minute being a resident. The only reason I moved was because I got married. Management staff and maintenance always kept the grounds safe and beautiful all year. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a lovely quiet place to live.

horrible place to live, very poor insulation. you can hear every noise outside your door. The girls who work in the office arent friendly at all. We tried to upgrade to a nicer loft apartment. they told us none were available but if we signed a lease when one was available we could move. a year later the woman tells us we cant move after signing a lease. electric is $250 a month for a 2 bedroom apartment. have had it looked at multiple times and they cant find out whats wrong with it. They only fix cosmetic issues. the list goes on. 0 out of 10. do not recommend.

It's a nice enough area, with stores and restaurants close by. However, getting anything fixed is a song and a dance. For instance, we went a whole summer without AC because we couldn't get maintenance to actually show up and fix it. Downstairs neighbors are noisy as hell, but you'll get that anywhere. Just don't bother calling the office and complaining because they don't do anything to remedy the situation. I would argue rent is a bit too high for what you get, seeing as how the apartments often need work and maintenance doesn't come fix anything.

I lived here for 3.5 years in an upper level 1 bedroom loft and really enjoyed it. The leasing office was very easy to work with in my experience, and was generally fair on their pricing. For the area the value of my space was great, and this complex is located in a great location. The only thing I would recommend is an upgrade to the interior as well as an upgrade to the AC situation. I had no issues with sound, and no issues with energy insulation, my energy bills were relatively low. I would recommend this place to anyone

My husband and I moved in at the beginning of the month shortly after getting married. The staff has been very helpful answering questions and are all very nice. Maintenance was very quick to fix any issues we had. Our neighbors are very considerate and several even offered to help us move.

Don t do it. When we moved in, the apartment was not cleaned at all. Repair issues from the day we moved in: closet doors not closing properly, kitchen drawers falling off tracks, electric wasn t ran properly to one of the bedrooms so no light switches nor outlets worked. Insulation is terrible. You can hear every move of your neighbors.The air conditioning unit broke multiple times, and they fixed it multiple times. In addition, during our time living there, maintenance and office were rude and acted inconvenienced for repairs or even basic customer service needs. The office is poorly organized and ran, when I moved out, they called to confirm my forwarding address THREE times, and she responds Thank you, if we need anything more from you we will send it to that address! Fast forward to April: I FIND information of a collections claim filed against my credit report that pertains to Shakertown Apartments. I call the agency to get more information where the operator also informs me that Shakertown has indeed contacted you. I then contact Shakertowns office, again, where the secretary responds ohhhhhh we have written here that the forwarding address is 123... clearly the incorrect address. Again, where I verified my forwarding address THREE TIMES! I received no apologizes for the complete inconvenience to my time and my credit score for a mistake that was entirely their fault. Shakertown Apartments, perhaps hire a staff with the ability to correctly and accurately mark and file tenet information. Thanks!

We've lived here about a year and a half and love it! It's safe, quiet and clean. The staff is very friendly and maintenance is usually good about fixing things quickly. I would highly recommend if you are looking for an affordable place in a great area.
