The monitoring service is fine. The contracts, making changes and finally cancelling was miserable. I left a negative review on the BBB site as well. I will not be doing business with Sentry Systems in the future and would highly recommend that you look at other alternatives who will provide service. Think cable company/xm radio/AT&T service levels. All of which have shown up on the Wall of Shame for customer service.

UPDATE 7/29 Mr. Olinger decided to contact me numerous times regarding my review. It got to the point of harassment. I do not have patience for bad service and had many difficulties with his organization, including at the time of renewal when I requested a copy of the contract, was informed that it automatically renewed at newer terms, which were higher and I could not cancel for another three years. (Never received a copy of the contract when requested.) I firmly stand behind my original review, am not willing to change it and have told him to never contact me again regarding business or the review.

I have been a customer of this service for 5 years. They are a group of con artists who care nothing for customer service. Only use them if you are interested in pain. Every phone number leads to an idiot who will do anything to avoid any work. We were with them for 5 years because they had my wife sign a 5 year contract. They said it was a "standard arrangement." This might have made sense if they had given us some kind of deal on the hardware, but all the hardware was already in the house. They were just being opportunistic and greedy.

I first went with this company when I rented a home until my house was built I've always had a security system in my home . Originally I only used this company because it was family owned and local in MN . Start with the contract scam I told them I only had a 1 year lease on the home so 5 years wouldn't work the guy who signed me up said thats fine that I could just cancel after a year .He was at the time the owner of sentry systems at that time. Well that was a lie hassle after hassle after they sold or joined another company. Now I also am a business owner I also contracted sentry for there since i had them on my home why not. These no brain a** h**** shouldn't be in business I decided to move my business I contacted them they charged me $99 a hour to come out and install the same equipment to my new building . My building was broken into these dumb ass people send the police to the old building . Who does this so after dealing with that they tell me I needed to sign a new contract huh really my contacts that I was already in was a 5 year with 2 left on it reason I even had them in my new bldg I would have used another company otherwise. So I sign a new contract for 1 year with them I e signed so after a year I want to cancel they tell me no i signed a 3 year . I didn't and wouldn't sign a long term contract with them due to E signing the emailed contract is gone after I believe 30 days or something like that so I couldn't go back into my email and find the paper I actually signed. Not to mention when the equipment goes bad it's a arm and leg to replace it and a fee for them to come out to fix it. It's alway a charge for something. Beware this sentry systems they will take you for all they can .I had to pay out another $450 to buy out of my contract. Please if you are reading these comments DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
There contracts are so horrible there customers service is worst and there isn't ever anyone who is able to help you when you need it.
Don't Do Business with sentry systems residential or business wise.

This is a great company. We have our house and cabin protected by them. Their customer service is great and they are very responsive. We sleep better at night knowing that we have a secure house.

Great company to work with. I have had Sentry for 4 years and they have treated me well. As part of a home remodel their service tech (nick) came out and relocated my panel. Nick did a great job, very thorough, professional, respectful, and cleaned up afterwards better than what he started with. I highly recommend Sentry if you are looking for a security system.

I only gave a one star because there is no way to give 0 stars. Terrible terrible terrible. Avoid at all costs. I agree with what the other 1 star reviewers are saying. Terrible service and fine print contracts that you can't get out of, unless if you pay them for no service rendered. A terrible, greedy company that should have a class action law suit brought against them for the way that they do business.

Sentry Systems customer service and systems are way ahead of the other competitors. We moved to them after ADT made a massive mistake which cost my Office Condo association over $100,000. Will not work with ADT again and appreciate the opportunity to work with Sentry Systems. Thank you

Excellent service! Wonderful company to work with. Great people in sales - technicians are very knowledgeable - office staff are super helpful! Working with them doing a complete building update was a pleasure. Big thanks to everyone at Sentry Systems and keep up the excellent work!

BUYER BEWARE!!!! Read before you sign. We were a customer for 6 years. Finally got sick of no customer service and switched company's. You would think they wouldn't still have their claws into you after that amount of time, but NOPE. I just received a bill for the next year's monitoring because I didn't give them a 60 days notice. NEVER AGAIN!!!
