Shout out to Marcie in the box office. I accidentally purchased two tickets to see Beautiful the Musical for tonight in New York instead of here in California. Naturally we couldn't make it to new York on such short notice, and the vendor we purchased the tickets from were incredibly unhelpful and wouldn't allow us to return or transfer the tickets. We decided to go to the box office to buy tickets for tonight anyway because our hearts were already set on seeing the show. We told Marcie what happened as we were deciding on seats to purchase, she politely excused herself for a minute and when she came back she told us that this happens all the time, and her supervisor would allow us to purchase 25$ rush tickets for seats that are normally 150$. She really went above and beyond to make our situation positive and memorable. She really blew our minds with how helpful and sweet she was. Especially since the Performing arts center and the third party we purchased our original tickets from are not affiliated in any way. Wonderful company and wonderful customer service!! Thank you again Marcie!

Impressive architecture, both aesthetically and functionally the whole center is jaw-dropping. Particularly impressed by the acoustics of the concert hall and the over the platform seats, you can enjoy every hand movement of great piano players. Overall there is no just way to describe the monumental impression you will get so go and experience it with a performance for your tastes.

Came here to see Rent and had a great experience. It wasn't too cold inside the theater so I don't think you need a jacket (I was wearing a dress). The only thing was that it was kind of hard to hear what the performers were saying, not sure if it had to do with the sound quality of the theater or the performers but it would've been nice to be able to hear everything clearly. Overall it's a nice spot to watch a show and get some pretty photos!

The ticket sales were a rip off. We bought 4 tickets at 79.00 and ended up paying almost 700.00 because thevfeesvand chargesvwere more than the stupid tickets. It isnt worth it no matter what the show because we were ripped off. My 75 year old mother always wanted to see lion king so we paid it...begrudgingly. Never again!!

Very grand venue. I highly recommend to attend ballet performances and broadway musicals here. Parking is easy where you can park either at the structure or at the South Coast Plaza mall. Never sit up the balcony unless you have no choice because the view is terrible up there. The orchestra has the best view. Will come back for more shows.

Love it

The seating at Segerstrom is not sloped enough to provide good views of the stage. I had pretty good seats but a tall person sat in front of me and I could barely see the stage. That's just bad design.

Nice place, more on the upscale side of things. Great acoustics! Would have given 5 stars except for two things. First, the prices for drinks, including bottled water, is exorbitantly high. Second, we went to see a concert here of Tony Bennett to create memories and they were like attack dogs on anyone who tried to take a picture. Seriously, the whole night we'd watch people try to take a photo and within seconds there would be someone pouncing down on them telling them to put away the camera. Sad, you spend several hundred dollars for tickets to see an icon and they won't let you take any pics to preserve the memories. Terrible policy and the odds of getting to see Tony again are probably zero. For 20 years I've wanted to see Tony and I couldn't even take a picture. I have to admit, that will stick with me.

Way too large. If you get tickets for a performance you want to enjoy do not get the far away tickets in the upper levels. You'll see the performers like little ants. And the seats are awfully uncomfortable.

In fact, I think they shouldn't sell tickets in the upper levels for musicals, ballets, and the sort. Those should be free. Maybe $10 max. Music concerts should fine, unless you want to see the performers' faces. And if you don't mind the constricted space.

Took my 7yo to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory here. It was phenomenal! It was a great experience for us both! I got a mocktail (non-alcoholic) for us to share and some snacks. A bottle of water cost $5 fyi. I spent About $20 for a water, mocktail, mentos, and mike n ikes. I suggest bringing your own water and light snacks for your kids if you bring them to a show.

Beautiful building - clean and classy. We went here to see the Aladdin musical. Unrelated to the building itself, but the theater hosted a lot of great talent for this show. We enjoyed our seating and had a good experience overall.

Nice.

It is definitely 80s-tastic in here! Compared to the ritzy renovated SCR and the other Segerstrom Hall, this building is definitely showing its age. The outside still looks pretty innovative and interesting, but inside it's all 80s maroon carpeting (duct-taped in areas, no less) and brass rails. Nonetheless, it's a nice cozy venue in which to enjoy a performance. Won a couple of Alice Cooper tickets and had a very nice time. We were in orchestra row U, so pretty far back, but dead center so still had a great view of the stage.

My biggest beef with this place is the fact that the bars closed after the performance started, and there was nothing to indiciate that this was going to happen--no signs, no comments from the bartenders or ushers...very disappointing! I guess most performances have intermissions, during which the bars are usually open (they even have a thing where you can buy drinks ahead of time and have it wait for you during intermission, very cool), but this performance did not have an intermission, and therefore no additional drinks could be purchased. Not sure when and if I'll ever be back, but I will be sure to file this away for future reference...
