Could be the worst restaurant I have ever been to. Service is awful. Food is fried crap and grossly overpriced . When the best thing on the menu of a seafood place is the chicken sandwich you know u have a problem.
You could improve the view if you ripped this place down!
It was the best around...too bad it had to close. Rye, NY couldn't/wouldn't come to an agreement with the owner and extend the lease.
Service was horribly inefficient, the menu was uninteresting, the prices were super-high, and the food was mediocre at best.
I was seated in a small section on the side deck which had 10 high-top tables for 2, versus the rear deck which had roughly 15-16 larger tables for 4+. Only 5 of the 10 tables in my section were in use, yet they had three servers covering this area! That's three servers covering a small area for four couples and one single (me)! Despite all of this coverage, I waited 14 minutes before I was greeted by a server. In that time, a couple was seated AFTER me, had their drink order taken and delivered by another server before I was even greeted by mine. It was then I noticed that my server was covering the far end of the rear deck, the furthest point from my table! Station coverage could not have been more inefficient!
When I expressed concern about the long wait, all I was given was a "sorry sir, can I take your order now?". More than half the menu was fried food, and prices were outrageously high! So the experience at this point was one of frustration and disappointment.
The food arrived promptly, but the fish had no taste, so I had to drown it with tartar sauce. The waiter was obviously overworked and given an odd set of tables to cover. This sent him dashing to every corner of the front and side deck.
After my disappointing experience, I asked to speak with a manager. An assistance manager arrived and was polite. I shared with her my observations. She said that "they" were satisfied with their menu, so I pointed out that their review rating indicated that their customers thought otherwise. She also explained that they were short staffed that night, but that did not explain why their station coverage was so inefficient. She said that she'll pass my concerns onto the manager and politely left.
I was blunt but polite and respectful to my waiter and the assistant manager. However, I am surprised that they never offered me a free drink for the 14 minute wait while others were being served. Most people, myself included, are very forgiving if you make a little extra effort when thing don't go well. That's worth a point or two in a review, but they didn't even try....so they get a big fat 1.0.
It's a shame the experience was so poor because the location and view is very nice. But do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere. There are plenty of other establishments along the Hudson that will work harder for your well-earned dollar!
I agree the location is the only good thing about it!
Overpriced, overpriced, overpriced. But the view is spectacular. And it's convenient while visiting Oakland Beach. The sushi was surprisingly delicious. The fish sandwich and fries were good but nothing special.
Margaritas, sea food (lobsters too) & beach front (on the sound)- a great spot!
Food is very overpriced & wine list is probably the worst in all of Westchester. They should be embarrassed to charge $11 a glass for wine you can buy an entire Magnum of for $11 retail. We ordered the raw bar app for $17 and received 2 shrimp, 2 little necks, and 2 oysters. When ck arrived we were charged $18. Funny that you can get 6 oysters for $14, 6 clams for $10, or 6 shrimp for $14 but 2 of each is $18. Interesting math at work here.
Paid $15 for parking??? They said I was non residents

Don't waste you money not worth the trip. The view is nice the food is mass produced in a plant somewhere then frozen then fried. Go to Friday's instead and save yourself some money.
Ridiculously overpriced!!!! What restuarant slices swordfish in half thickness wise and sells it for $32??????
"We're only taking reservations for 8 or more..." A nice way for Seaside Johnnies to make small families feel alienated
Okay, Father's Day I understand it will be busy, but it wasn't packed. 5pm table of 7 - 1 hour wait for food, sides for most dishes were 10 minutes wait extra. One meal missing a pickle, another a cold baked potato, and also they couldn't grill the fish! Had to be broiled. Demanded 25% discount, they refused - then they finally gave use the bill with the discount. They just salvaged the situation at the very end.
Stars are for the new restaurant called the Ocean Grille.
