One of my favorite listening rooms in Chicago. Great sound quality, friendly staff, good beer selection at a decent price for a captive audience.

We tried pickle shots and it's really great. Atmosphere is really good. Place is quite happening.
Cool spot. I went there for a conference venue which it was not set up for.
Great venue to see smaller artists. We saw The Ballroom Thieves and the show was phenomenal. It is intimate enough to allow artists to unplug and sing/play acoustically. Very happy with the show. Decent drink prices for the area.
I want to say this is the perfect venue to see a particular band however its the best setting for any of the bands they book here. It is a smaller venue with killer lineups for great music. If you have not been you must see a show here you will completely understand what I am saying. It has a very intimate setting and there is a small bar you walk through to get to the back show space. It is a great place to see the show and hang out after. They also have a cafe attached with great food so why not make a whole night of it. Dinner a great show and stick around for drinks.
One if my favorite spots to see a show in Chicago. Not too big, but not too small, and the drink prices aren't going to break the bank, either. They get some great talent to come through, so it's definitely worth checking their lineup and making sure you small tickets to shows sooner rather than later.
I love small little venues like this. Tickets and beer are never too pricey and the music is always great! They bring in some awesome artists.
Great bar, awesome beer selection and great service
Nice chill place to have a drink and socialize! Full bar and appetizers and a few plates. Plus a cozy event space with a bar, and a concert room.
One of my favorite venues in the city. Very intimate spot for a show.
Lots of twinkle daddies, cheap drinks, and great sound
We went here for the Harry Hudson concert and the vibe and atmosphere was AMAZING. The venue was intimate and the bar had great food (and from what others said great drinks). I would definitely go here again rather it be just to eat or for an event. The staff was great, the lighting was great, and the music that played was good enough for you to completely vibe too while still holding a conversation.
Great food, atmosphere, music and a very kind staff. Bill and Lea were wonderful as was another staff member at the door of the music venue. Will go back for sure.
Really decent small concert venue. Very limited seats, but you'll want to stand anyway. Good beer selection and it's located in a good neighborhood.
Excellent intimate music venue with good beers and full bar. Staff is super cool and friendly.
Great bar with great performers. The night I went, had live music on one side and comedy on the other. I chose live music and wasn't disappointed.
The service was quick and friendly. The bar and bathroom were clean. I had a great time here and will come again the next time I visit Chicago.
Decent selection of beers. Minimal food options that are overpriced and just okay. I had a $15 chicken sandwich that was super greasy, which was fine and about 20 house fries, which were really just frozen fries (definitely not made fresh or in the back). My boyfriend had a burger which he said was just okay, but did love the horseradish Dijon mustard he ordered on the side. Overall meh.
Did not check out the venue but seemed nice.
Tasty foods, great selection of drinks, awesome intimate music venue.
This is my favorite venue in Chicago! It's intimate, they get lesser known but wonderful bands, and half the time you end up chatting it up with the band. Used to be an old Schlitz Brewery as well...cool vibes.
I kind of forget about Schubas, which is a shame, because whenever I go to a show there, I have a great time. Like the staff. Beer list is usually solid, the rooms are nice. Some good shows here for what amounts to a small bar concert space. Can't wait to go back again.
They need to update their speakers.. You can barely hear vocals. Their mixing needs to get better.
I've seen over a dozen shows at Schuba's and it remains one of my favorite venues in Chicago. The staff are friendly and quick, despite usually being swamped. Drinks are good and priced about the same as other bars and venues in the city.
Shows at Schuba's are intimate and extremely fun. The sound is fantastic. There's no better place to be so up close and personal with some of the best musicians in the country.
The music venue is excellent. Small, intimate venue. Good sound and decent sightlines from most areas on the floor. I really enjoy this venue and have seen several shows here over the last few years. I will go to the venue again but I will never again order food here. We didn't have time to go somewhere else before the show so we ordered food at the bar - a simple fried chicken sandwich and a fried fish sandwich - and it was probably the worst food me and my husband have ever eaten. The coating on the fried chicken sandwich was overcooked, it tasted burnt and there was barely any sauce on the sandwich to cover up the burnt taste. My husband said the fish sandwich was very bland and there was too much breading and bun for the fish. He said he would rather eat a Filet O Fish from McDonald's. The fries were just ok, way too salty and most of the ones on my plate were the tiny scraps, very few were full, normal fry size. Their menu is really small, only a few sandwiches and appetizers so I would think the few things they do make would be decent. We are all about getting bar food, we mostly stick to low key restaurants and bars so I wasn't expecting some high-end fare but for $15 dollar sandwich I expected something a lot better.
This location is absolutely outstanding. Service is typically above par. The bill was fair for the quality of food.
the staff was friendly and observant. prices are fair. mood here is similar to fresno's scene.
Went to see Skott here and it was a fun time. Easy to get to and the parking is convenient. Has bar and then a separate performance stage in back.
Schubas has great bands and a beautiful setup. Of the smaller venues in Chicago, Schubas is one of the best and easily the highest quality one between Evanston and the Loop. The beer list is great, the service is awesome, and when you just want some coffee it isn't the bottom of the pot started at 11am. The booking and the sound are always great, the crowd is always spot on, and I have yet to see a bad show here.
Its a nice place to hang out during the week. The live music is always a great plus because it brings the whole place alive. I would recommend hanging out here
Cool place, nice bartender stage in the back is truly intimate and solid over all acoustics as well
Was walking around southport and was starving. I've heard of Schubas, but only for music and never for their food. Let me tell you, the food was great. I got the griddle burger and it was one of the best burger I've had. The bun and jam/ketchup was different and was great. My boyfriend got the grilled chicken sandwich and also loved the meal. Wish seating was a little better. But will definitely go back for music.
Awesome prohibition era interior. Intimate venue great for the flow of musical acts. EXCEPTIONAL staff, they are always looking out for you and keeping the fountain of conversation rolling respectfully .
Schubas is great for watching live music. The drinks are good and relatively average priced. The venue space has enough room where it doesn't ever feel crowded and you can sit anywhere and be able to see the musician/band.
An intimate music club in the back, a bar that serves food in the front. There is something for everyone here. The food is good, the beers are cold and the music is great..
They also serve brunch on Sundays and it is surprisingly very good.
You can have dinner, drinks and enjoy a live show here!

Schubas is a great place to catch good live music during the week.
I went on a Wednesday, paid $10, and got to see bands from Michigan, the PNW, and Philadelphia, all three of which had a very polished and professional sound. The actual stage is in a back room, and isn't too big, so you literally can't get a bad spot. If you go and decide you want to have more of a conversation, you can head back to the front room for a more low key atmosphere.
The beer selection was pretty comparable to other places in Chicago (which is to say that it had good beer, but nothing that you couldn't find elsewhere).
Awesome spot. Great bar menu. Definitely recommend the Fried Chicken Sandwich.
Really small venue, which makes for a fantastic and intimate show. Love this place.
went to a great concert here War on Peace was excellent
Great place to meet people, have drinks, and see awesome groups like Lowdown Brass Band rock live!!
Went for a concert, perfect size venue with a good layout. I was coming down with a cold and asked if it was possible to order hot tea. They brought me a full tea service with a tiny jar of honey! Reasonable prices and excellent service
I've loved Schubas for years. Great venue, great stage to play on and fantastic food. This was the first time I'd been since they added Tied House and its BEAUTIFUL. I didn't eat there but the menu looked great. Beautiful outdoor space too.
My favorite place to grab a quick lunch in the neighborhood!!!
We saw Liz Cooper play 3X last weekend at Mile of Music. Go see her play Aug 16th at Schubas! Good times!!!
Schubas has an awesome beer selection. Great place to see a concert too. Might be a little small for some.
Awesome staff during a live event. Brought us drinks to the front of the crowd even though it was packed.
Our bartender was very attentive and cute. Worth every penny of his $5 tip.
We were there for a lalapolusa after show and didn't order any food or drink. The venue was intimate and the show was incredible. We'll be back.
Schubas is my favorite bar in Chicago! Aside from have a great intimate venue to see acts a lot of amazing music and comedy, their menu is amazing, their staff is the nicest around, and their bar is HUGE! They also have a separate restaurant attached called the Harmony Grill. It is the same food menu as Schubas, but with a warmer restaurant feel. On top of all that, they have a private room for events and a great outdoor space on Southport.
Great venue that see live music or comedy. Small enough to get up close to up and coming bands. Great sound for a smaller venue.
Intimate setting for what was an amazing American Football gig
The atmosphere is ecstatic! The small size of the venue gets you up close and personal with the band! The wood floors give such a warm feeling to the sound. All in all one of my favorite places in Chicago!!!
Great venue and and setting with charming staff and good drink selection. Like all small venues, they could probably mic the drum set at a little lower level to help people hear vocals a little more but now I'm nitpicking. Drove an hour to get here and I'd come back.
I loved this venue, the staff was great and the bar service was even better. Our food was delicious even though it took close to an hour to come out due to the busy night.
The standard for smaller music clubs in the city. The list of acts that have passed through this place on their way up is nearly unparalleled. Usually there's a good special and they also have solid food if you're hungry.
