Whatever review you read from other people and different blogs are complete lie and suck up. The food is absolutely garbage. Ordered 10 different pasta not a single one was decent. It is not properly seasoned the meat are dry like chewing dry sponge. The duck ravioli does not even taste like duck and the taste was bland.. Paying more than Rm 1.5k for the overall meal, it left the entire family regretting the decision to ever step foot into the restaurant. There are much better italian restaurant out there with much more reasonable price. To finish up, please refrain from going to this restaurant if you ever want to have italian food. Good day.

Good place to get fine dining level of food in a more comfortable setting. Highlights were the foie gras. The staff were good, and the owner will sometimes make an appearance for big groups which is always great to be able hear the stories behind your food.

Had a great dinner here, the staff are very friendly and the food is very good, had their Gratinated Eggplant Parmigiana, Minestrone Soup, Duck Ravioli and Sassorosso Pizza, I have to say it s all very good.
Although my dining experience was kinda ruined by the air-condition leaking, but the food can easily say it s the BEST

An absolutely fanominal experience. The food is scrumptious and tasty. There are no words on describing the service over there as they are friendly and always cooperative. The location of the restaurant may not be to everyone's liking over there but if u can get over it, then it's a peaceful environment. The food is expensive but then again it's worth every penny.

Good service without being overly-friendly, good wine list, nice food selection without being over-whelming and you can't go wrong with the housebrand tiramisu, it is super fresh and I can't fault it in any way. I will certainly be back again!

Our family went to Sassorosso to celebrate my siblings milestone birthdays , 40, 50 and 60. My sister turned 40, and two brothers turned 50 and 60 this year! My husband and I flew all the way from Hawaii for this auspicious event. Keith, the manager helped us with the menu and cake. He was so helpful and answered all my questions and concerns via texts.

The day finally came and we had a reservation for a party of 11 people. When we arrived, we were blown away by the decor and room set up for our guests. Wow! It was beautifully decorated , with candle lights and flower petals. And then came the appetizers. They were all delicious! And finally, the dinner! Wow! Everyone loved their entree.

The event finished with a beautiful and delicious tiramisu cake. The cake was decadent! Everyone simply had a wonderful time. Thank you Sassorosso, you all did an outstanding job! From the chef to the servers, everything went smoothly and beautifully.

The only thing that could topped the event would be the Chef coming to our table to wish my siblings a "Happy Birthday" or just to introduce himself. That would have been very special and personal.

Bravo! Highly recommended. We wish you and your staff many, many more years of great success!

Deeply disappointed with the food. For the price charged, we definitely expected better food quality.

We ordered mushroom soup, duck ravioli & lasagna.

The mushroom soup cost RM36 and it is oily and overpowered by rosemary. Nothing like a decent mushroom soup at all. Have definitely tasted something better.

The duck ravioli cost RM88. What we received at our end is a confused fusion dish. It's like a fusion between Roasted Duck you typically get from chinese restaurant with ravioli. Anyway the dish is bland and is definitely not worth the money at all.

The lasagna cost RM76. A decent lasagna but definitely not one that cost this much.

Also, the waiter tried hard to persuade us to order starters and repetitively mentioned that the entrees would take a while to arrive despite us saying no to him few times.

Felt the waiter should have behaved professionally and just leave after we politely declined him. Not the kind of service we did expect to receive at a "fine-dining" restaurant.

With the price that we are paying, the food was honestly very disappointing. It was below average and the duck ravioli tastes really bland. We were seated outdoor which we didn't asked for and was not informed upon our reservation. The ambiance outdoor was certainly not pleasant. The whole experience definitely not worth the price.

Authentic italian diners. They use fresh truffle as part of the ingredient. The truffle is freshly cut in front of you to retian its freshness. The steak was so soft it literally melts in your mouth. A bit pricy for the masses. It definitely the choice for the kayangan....

Fabulously tranquil restaurant located in a bungalow house tucked in a cul de sac in the centre of Kuala Lumpur. The typically italian cuisine is always good. As well as the traditional fare, they also serve exciting specials including rabbit with a truffle mash and king crab penne - two must haves! Most nights the owner is also there and his gregarious personality makes this place come alive. Great wine list too!

A Italian fine dining restaurant. Quality of food and standard of cooking are slightly above average and service is good. Cost of food is above average. Ambience is good to match the upscale standard.

The main problem was the mismatch between the food quality and price. For what it is charging now, it is worth 2 star, but if the price was 40% lower than it's probably worth 4 star.
I ordered the special asparagus which was supposed to be air flown from France. It was bland, it was tasteless and it costed RM68. The asparagus I bought from Jaya Grocer at RM15 tasted way way better.
The ravioli with spinach and ricotta cheese was ok, Not great, but ok and definitely does not worth RM54.
The pizza was better than the pasta and it was cooked in a wood fired oven. so a bit of plus points there. But still.... does not worth RM46....

Absolutely splendid food with a nice cozy ambiance! Staff are very friendly and attentive. Low-key place that may be a little hard to find and the price is on the higher side but worth it in my opinion! Don t hesitate to dine here if you re looking for good Italian food.

Last night we ordered a pizza, Sri Lankan crab penne, pesto spaghetti, minestrone soup, and mushroom risotto. You know what? They all tasted the same! All four of are certain the cooks relied on knorr chicken flavoring. All the dishes were salty and tasted like chicken. We ordered the Sri Lanka crab penne and less than five minutes it was served. That means it was already precooked hours ago and it tasted like a leftover. It was stale and salty. The pizza also was flavored with chicken stock powder. Can you imagine flavoring a Margeherita pizza with chicken stock powder? All of us suffered the dryness in our mouth for many hours after the meal and had to drink a lot of water. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. The awful side effects of msg.

My wife ordered glass of red wine. Waiter just asked full body or medium body. She ordered full body. There was no other conversation. The Bill was RM68 for just one glass of wine with out any explanation & never show menu. I never go to this restaurant again.

Sassorosso is a place that wins mostly with its ambience and wine (so goodm we ordered 2 bottles). Really, it's such a classy place to dine and perfect for a date- or double dates. Having said that, It doesn't fare extremely well with its rather high pricing for rather small portions. We had the daily special and I had rabbit (which was pretty darn good) but the rest of the meals were only so-so. All in all, if you're ordering a bottle of wine, expect a bill of approximately RM130++.

Service was excellent, atmosphere lovely but the food was only so-so. For that kind of price, I really had much better elsewhere. In fact, I've had much better food in terms of taste, presentation and portion at a much lower price! (check out Basil Pasta House in Kuchai Lama for better food though the crowd means ambience is different)

Probably the best Italian restaurant I run into in Malaysia (and beyond). Close to the city, yet hosted in a kampung-style area, Sassorosso sports a spacious al fresco section as well as white-clothed indoor seating. Food was delicious: tried starters - parmigiana was the best, tagliatelle and pizza. Giovanni is a helpful and caring host, and he'll help you navigate the rich food and wine menus. It's probably rather pricey but I didn't pay for it
