Gorgeous views of the Bay makes for a fantastic locale for an historic American Naval Museum. You won't be able to decide what's better: the Museum, the beach, the docks and Tall Ships, the key venues...where to start?!? This is a "Can't Miss" day!

This is an absolutely beautiful park with some really amazing spots. I went here with a bunch of friends for a day of hiking, picnicing, and general messing about. The park rangers do a really good job keeping the area neat and I will definitely be going back for =some more outdoor fun.

You can see all attraction from the pier. Must visit if you're in town. Put on your walking shoes because this is definitely the place to work off those extra calories from eating all the food and chocolate in Ghirardelli Square

Best money I spent in SF. Course I like being on the water so a little bias, but the commentary was good... He didn't rattle on the whole time, which I appreciated. Nice fun facts about the golden gate and Alcatraz. Sit up top if you can... Best view.

In the wharf area, west of Fisherman's Wharf and a short walk from the famous Pier 39, is this maritime museum. In reality there is not much to see, when I went, the two ships could not be visited internally, but only from the outside. The Eureka ferry is very interesting and interesting, and contains many vintage cars and trucks.
Worth a visit (which still lasts a couple of hours) despite the entrance fee.

For visiting other places like the price is ridiculously high compared to what we visit. When you have the pass for the national park (America the beautiful) you can go quickly but if not spend your way very little to see.

Interesting site where you can see various historical ships. Restoration and maintenance workshops. Free school programs. It belongs to the federal service of national parks. Everything is somewhat aged and lacking in maintenance. The staff is very friendly and attentive, with great effort, dedication and professionalism.

The San Francisco Maritime National Park Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the rich maritime heritage of San Francisco and the surrounding areas. Through education, preservation, and philanthropy, the association works tirelessly to ensure that this important part of our history is not lost.

The association was founded in 1950 with the goal of preserving historic ships and other maritime artifacts. Today, it operates as a partner with the National Park Service to manage several sites in San Francisco that are dedicated to maritime history.

One of these sites is the Hyde Street Pier, which features several historic vessels that have been restored and preserved for future generations. Visitors can explore these ships and learn about their role in shaping San Francisco's history as a major port city.

Another site managed by the association is Aquatic Park Cove, which offers opportunities for swimming, boating, fishing, and other recreational activities. The park also includes several historic structures such as bathhouses and piers that provide a glimpse into life on the waterfront during different eras.

In addition to managing these sites, the association also provides educational programs for students of all ages. These programs include field trips to historic sites as well as classroom resources such as lesson plans and educational materials.

The association's commitment to preservation extends beyond physical artifacts. It also works to preserve traditional skills such as boatbuilding through apprenticeships and workshops. By passing on these skills to future generations, they ensure that our maritime heritage remains alive and vibrant.

Philanthropy plays an important role in supporting these efforts. The association relies on donations from individuals and organizations who share their passion for preserving our maritime heritage. These funds are used for everything from restoring historic vessels to providing scholarships for students interested in pursuing careers related to maritime history or conservation.
