How have I missed stopping in to this free museum just steps from Ghirardelli Square? It's a wonderful, interactive museum for all ages.

Here you can visit the historic ships. Don't miss really interesting exhibit Cargo Is King! on the lower deck of the Balclutha ship. Also we've seen seals resting on one of the boats. Awesome!

Nice place to watch the sunset with the seagulls. Very quiet and enough space. You do not have to sit in the sand either.

Beautiful bay area, view of Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headland and Aquatic Park.

Very nice to have been there, wouldn't have wanted to miss it.

It is a great experience to meet more people .... places to eat ... to meet and to dance and above all to have fun.

Love to explore this place. Always seems to have something new to see. Highly recommend for locals who want to have fun without the crowds. Great for kids of all ages. Our 3 year old loved it!

Great place to come first if visiting Fishermans Wharf/Hyde Pier area. Such lovely and helpful staff here.. Also, miniature boats that are parked on Hyde pier are available inside for display :)

My favorite place ever in San Francisco, my happy place

Aquatic Park is one of the best possible places to open-water swim. The stadium seating provides an excellent location to watch a sunset. The breathtaking sights include views of the bay, Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. There might be a couple people playing on the "beach", though most of the locals know of superior beaches. When the pier is open, don't miss strolling down it to see if any of the fisherman have anything in their nets!

Super spot for a picnic, people watching and being in the center of everything, literally. There is something for everyone. Drinks and a great breakfast at the Buena Vista, ice cream at Ghirardelli, picnic food at one of the Wharf's many street stands, street venders and amazing musicians, a cable car ride, bicycling or Hobart to name a few. If you are walking I recommend a foot massage at the end of the day, you'll thank me for thinking of it. Enjoy!

Great place to sit on a dock of the Bay! Even for a 2nd generation San Franciscan. What a place we live in. I say we live "in the center or the Universe" Just my opinion.

I have been at Ghirardelli square many times over the last few decades, but never visited the Maritime Museum. What a fascinating history and a wonderful architectural treasure.

First time ever in California and we hit the jackpot! It was fleet week. They had the air show. The weather was perfect. What an amazing experience! It was everything I hoped for and more. Great street vendors. Got some beautiful earrings. What a great day. The narrated air show was fantastic!

Only block away from Fisherman s Wharf. Very beautiful Park next to the water where you can buy handmade jewellery on the sidewalk, have a portrait done there for couple of dollars, get on the first and last stop of the historical Cable Car only 2 stops away from Lombard Street if you get on it from the Park. Nice view of the coast.

Hidden (in plain sight) treasure! Located next to the world famous Ghirardelli Square, this one is overlooked by most everyone. It's mesmerizing to see the displays from San Francisco's long maritime history. Serves to highlight, even more so, what an incredible and unique city this is.

Amazing place! One of the best views in San Francisco. See the ocean and breed some fresh air. We are lucky to live in this city with such amazing places to cool off.

It was a windy but beautiful day on the Alma sailing the Bay. I have been talking to all my friends to check it out. The view of the city is like no where on land. They won't be disappointed. The captain and the crew were helpful and informative. I would like to bring other friends.

After reading the history of the place, I was amazed by the public protest which turned it from a casino to an informative museum. The artworks by famous artists on the walls create the relevant setting of the marine museum.

It is worth to the museum and also the park, has a staircase that gives to sit and to be listening to the noise of the sea.

The submarine was impressive. Unfortunately, the warship could not be visited.

Nice museum to see old ships. A beach is nearby as well as the pier with plenty to do!

I did not visit the museum building due to my schedule but park and the beach area were very nice, also you can watch older ships on the water from the beach as well.

Great place to look out on the Bay. And be able to hit up Fisherman's Wharf.

Has a very relaxing ambiance as well as the sights were just beautiful. Great for spending the day plenty to do all around and you can just enjoy the view of you want to relax.

The best beach in all of San Francisco. Dip your feet in the water, or go for a swim. I've only gone so far as a Polar Plunge, but I see people swimming all the time. If you visit the Wharf, visit Aquatic Park. Head down the pier and see the historic ships (you only have to pay to board). The recently renovated maritime exhibit in the visitor's center is an oft overlooked gem, too.

Hello, very good at this time of the morning, not much traffic and very relaxing this area

I have to admit the only reason I visited this park was to take a picture at the bench that overlooks the view of DTLA. However, after visiting the park I was pleasantly surprised how nice of a park it is especially based on it's location. It's a great place to relax or have a picnic. The only downside is the parking. Spaces are very limited so you might have to find parking on the street.

Cool little park where you can catch the trolley and look out onto the water.

Ships are very cool. I was disappointed that more of them were not open and we didn't get a chance to see some of the below deck areas.
