San Francisco Electric Tour Company Review

Did the Golden Gate Park tour. Had a blast. Very fun to learn to ride. Lots of interesting facts about the park that I never new. The guide, Dane, seemed very knowledgeable. And he was fun and personable.

First time rider. Started with good safety instructions on how to maneuver the Segway. Then off on a guided tour of Fisherman's Wharf and N. Beach on the streets in light traffic. An enjoyable way to see the sights.

Tre was a great tour guide, friendly, and was very patient.

Katie was a great guide, very friendly and funny, and knew a whole lot about the city. We took the "Wharf, Waterfront and Little Italy Segway Tour" and it was advertised as a two hour tour that started at 9am but it ended up lasting until 1130 so anybody thats trying to cram as many activities into their schedule as possible should beware. Also you'll end up taking a break at a big warehouse of old fashioned arcade games so it's a good idea to bring some quarters.

Golden Gate Park tour with my girlfriends for my bday celebration was a blast! Devin our guide was informative & funny & the training was useful but lighthearted also...the segways are so easy & natural to maneuver! Groupon made it really reasonable! Saw parts of the park we never had seen before--kinda "backstage." Tip: wear gloves!

This was our first time on a segway ever, and the staff helped us learn the ropes! They were so encouraging and helpful. Kelly was our tour guide; he was fun and uplifting. He was quick to action and quick to check on the group! We had SO much fun on our tour and laughed the entire way! I highly recommend this tour!!!

My wife and I had a great time on an S&E Segway tour we did in April 2014. The staff was very friendly and helpful; they provided a good amount of time to train people with the Segways before the ride. We did an early Sunday morning group and there was only six of us; I think this gave our guide more flexibility on where he took us. Our guide was Carey and he was very entertaining; he took good care of us. He took our group to the Aquatic park pier and let us roam free at the end of the tour; this was my favorite part of the tour! We were able to see a good amount of San Francisco in a short amount of time. The Segways had no problems with the hills in SF. I would recommend this to any one!

My first time on a Segway, and it was a surprisingly awesome way to take in the sights of the city or wherever your prefer. Guides were friendly and hilarious, further contributing to an awesome experience.

Nic is a really great tour guide! Never a dull moment with her leading the tour. There is a radio system where the tour guide speaks to you. Pricey, but awesome experience.

We enjoy Segway tours and decided to see more of Golden Gate Park up close. The staff gives you a quick lesson mainly for safety and there is a quick video to watch. There is a little practice time and then you are off with your tour guide. We went out in a group of eight. Our guide was very informative and interesting. We learned a lot about Golden Gate Park that we would not have just walking or driving. Being on a Segway makes it all lots of fun. Don't be afraid to try it. If you can ride a bicycle, you can Segway!

We had a great afternoon with these guys. The service was second to none.

You're given all the equipment and safety gear you need. They take you through some thorough training and do a great job of putting people at ease. We had a young girl in our group who was in tears to begin with despite the support from her mum and dad. The tour instructors were so great with her and it was wonderful to see her flying along in no time.

Riding the segways turned out to be much easier than I expected. No broken bones or anything!

Our guide (Kelly) was patient, polite, informative and interesting. He took us around Golden Gate Park pointing out items of interest along the way and backed it up with historical facts and stories. He also took a raft of photos and also took photos on people's personal cameras as well.

Give it a go, you'll love it.

My family and I did a 1.5 hour tour and it was great. The workers were awesome and the tour guide was very funny. They made sure we were all comfortable before beginning. Awesome experience!

This is the best way to explore San Francisco. It was a lot of fun to drive over the Golden Gate. Were on a tandem (for the price you can aich 2 individual bikes rent) on the way, because you could talk better there. Prices could be a little cheaper. You get tickets for the ferry (necessary if you make the Golden Gate in one direction only), but they will be charged if you use or lose them. At the same price you pay on the ferry. All in all, it was worth it, because you got more impressions than on foot or by car.

Everyone thought I'd look stupid on a segway. Joke's on them. This was a good time. Our tour guide was pretty great, the segways had clever names, and it was eye-opening to how big and gem-studded the park is. It was also entertaining watching the families interact. My only complaint is that I asked one of the Electric Tour Company guys if the Chairman Bao truck would still be around after our tour and he said yes. And it wasn't. ):

Our guide was Tre and he was awesome. I was a little uncomfortable initially but he was a great instructor and within 5 minutes I totally got it!
He was very knowledgeable and had great commentary during our tour of the city. Also he was very safe, I really appreciated how safety conscience he was. San Francisco can be a little crazy and he made us all feel very safe.

Just wrote a review on trip advisor about how great my experience was with San Francisco Segway Tours, and now I'm following up on google because it was that good! Trevor was our driver and I'd request him again the next time I go! No complaints!

Four of us had an incredibly fun VIP tour with Melanie. She was exceptionally informative, welcoming, chatty and there was never a dull moment. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely do another tour when back in San Francisco. #noimspiderman

So we traveled all the way to San Francisco just to try out some segways to prepare for a segway tour in Rome. However, when we arrived, none of the Segway companies that we contacted would allow us to simply test out these very entertaining modes of transportation. This company happily invited us to not only test out the segways, but they also provided an excellent crash course for a small fee!! The staff were knowledgeable, patient, and very fun during the small training session. I highly recommend this company!!!

This is a fabulous adventure and the scenery is beautiful. I have lived in this community most of my life and did not have the fortune of getting to ride the Skunk Train until recently. It was one of my most memorable days. I recommend it to tourist and locals alike. The price is very reasonable and well worth it. They have several special adventures throughout the year that are worth looking into...

Tre was an awesome tour guide. I never would have guessed segways could be so much fun. The whole family went (I have a college-age son and a high schooler, and they still wanted to try it out). Even though we have tripped around SF so many times, there is always something new for us to discover and try. After the segway tour around Fisherman's Warf and Little Italy, we wanted to buy our own segways.

Absolutely Fantastic from start to finish. I would say this is one of the best ways to see part's of the city, with the staff being patient and all round super as hosts. Doing a Segway Tour with SF Segway Tours is not a 'might do", it is a "must do" when visiting SF.

We had a private tour, this was an enjoyable experience, our guide was fantastic, helpful and tolerant with the children - you should not miss this experience.

My husband and I took the 2.5 hour night tour. It was a lot of fun riding the Segway alongside other vehicles. Our instructor was knowledgeable and entertaining. We have taken a Segway tour earlier in Portland, and although we shouldn't be comparing that with the SF tour, we felt this one was a bit slow, mainly because of the bad roads and the route being many SF streets and covering major city tourist attractions. Overall it was a fun thing to do in SF.

I loved taking a Segway! Had Jesse as a guide. What a great 1.5 hour tour we had at a reasonable price. So fun I did it twice. I went by myself the first time, and was given a "doctorate" for my skills at catching onto the segway, and with it a coupon for $10 per person for the next time. So, I took my daughter. I wanted to take a different tour of the Golden Gate Park, but it was booked solid on Thanksgiving Friday. So I repeated the Fisherman's Wharf tour and had the same funny, knowledgable and friendly guy Jesse.

The tour takes you around Nob Hill, Little Italy, Grant Avenue in North Beach, back down to the wharf, around the Fort Mason area with a really fun ride out to the roundabout pier, which would take forever to walk.

The segway is easy and fun, and scary at first. But it's okay to maneuver through traffic and people crossing the street, through the hustle bustle of the Pier 39 area. Excellent value, well spent money that shows you where to go back to in the city.

Great tour with a great tour guide. She took us around Fisherman's Wharf and gave us a little history lesson. We had training on the Segway before the tour started, and I was completely comfortable riding a Segway at the end. The hills in San Francisco completely disappear when you are on a Segway.
