Local companies like this don't appear often enough around here. The Salt Lake Acting company is a long time staple that I hope stays around for a long time. It's located smack dab in the center of Marmalade and has all the charm the district offers. The building itself is housed in an old, repurposed LDS ward building, which is ironic considering the types of plays that often show here. The biggest downside is parking, get here early before the show or be prepared to walk a couple of blocks. However, a warm summer night walking through the Marmalade district certainly makes the experience more magical, so that's not always a bad thing.

Amazing theater located in North Salt Lake. My kids loved watching Pete the Cat and have seen several other fun plays over the years! The actors and actresses are very engaging and the question and answer time after the play is so much fun for the kids. Kids also look forward to the sugar cookies which are fantastic and custom-made for each play. There is plenty of parking located just in front of the theater or in the school next-door. Ticket prices are very reasonable and well worth it. We even got to say hello to the SLAC cat who greeted us when we arrived to the theater.

I took my five-year-old son to see Pinkalicious. SLAC made the experience wonderful for him. They had available small, very reasonably priced treats for kids and adults and the accompanying book on sale. They also had a Q&A session after the show for the children. Finally, I had to call multiple times to ask about ticketing and policies and each time I connected with courteous, creatively helpful, and knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend this theater!

Obviously I don't love every show equally, but this organization consistently stages quality and diverse shows. They do a great job with an intimate space in terms of set design. Their support staff does excellent work, and we always enjoy our time there. Season tickets have been worth every dollar.

I took my almost 4 year old daughter and my mom to see Pete The Cat - it was SO GOOD. The whole cast was so talented and the show was super fun. Everyone who is a part of this theater from the moment you walk in is really warm and friendly and helpful. It was an amazing experience!

Being newer to Salt Lake our family members told us that we needed to go to Salt Lake Acting Company for Saturday's Voyeur. We had a great time and wished we had brought along a picnic and some wine for the show. Please be warned that this particular show is very liberally based. If you are conservative or LDS you would not likely enjoy this show.

Took kids for Pete the cat and pinkliciouse production. Very low key and comfortable. They set up mats right next to stage for kids to sit on. End of play they ask kids some questions. They are famous for annual Saturday Vouyer that is parody of utah life and politics (adults only) you can take your dinner and wine with you. Nice activity for date nights or kids

We always have a blast at Salt Lake Acting! The holiday plays are my favorite- last year's Pinkalicious turned my now 5 year old daughter into a major theater junkie! This year's Pete the Cat was just as amazing. Many thanks to the cast and staff for humoring her intense desire to meet Pete and the Cat Catcher, for being patient with her questions and making the experience an incredible one for her.

Hilarious! Entertaining! Comical.... I could go on and on and on and..... But the absolute truth is. The actors are very talented and enthusiastic about what they are doing and if I recommend anything it would be to catch a showing of their Saturday's Voyer. And just Remember to have a sense of Humor! Not a bad attitude or a stick up your back end!!

My wife and I are season ticket holders at SLAC. They put on excellent productions and their annual Saturday's Voyeur is not to be missed. They'll celebrate 50 years in 2020. Highly recommend supporting this local institution.

The theatre is one of the best bargains anywhere. From good, spellbinding drama, thought-provoking, avant-garde new works to fun..fun..fun stuff for us kids (of various ages). Their annual signature work, "Saturday's Voyeur" always needs an extended run to meet demand. It is a satire of the local culture...
We have bought season tix for -- many years.
If you haven't, you should!

I love seeing plays here. My favorite season so far has been 2017-2018. I enjoy the readings as well. Thanks SLAC for providing a venue for thought provoking, emotion stirring, alternative plays (compared to what you would normally expect in Utah).

I've made attendance at Saturday's Voyeur a new tradition. I've gone the last three years. The theater here is small and intimate, but fully-featured. The previous two years I've attended, I thought the show was funnier than it was in 2016. It was still funny, but a little shallower and the story made a lot less sense. Even so, I had a great time and will definitely be going back for another Saturday's Voyeur.

I'm a season ticket holder. Some plays are a bit too depressing, but overall a great community theatre! The annual musical satire "Saturday's Voyeur " is an institution for the Salt Lake City progressive crowd!

Totally fun evening ... I get so wrapped up in everyday life, I forget about the gem in the Marmelade. Take time to step back to entertainment on a real and enjoyable side of life. Acting is gritty, and this cast has all that and so much more. Each program is a great choice!!

I've loved Saturday's Vouyer since the 70's. Wonderful music always.

(Just one suggestion--to leave Christ out of it. Good to separate the Lord from Utah politics. I doubt he is involved in it, though they use His name as if He were--to push their agenda.)
