The visit by train can be interesting to see the piles of salt and the machinery of the salt flats, but if you want to enjoy the colors of the lagoons or see flamingos or take photos, do not choose this option, because you will not see anything or you can stop somewhere other than the store. For that, choose the option of a guided tour by bike or on foot, which, apart from having someone to explain things to you, will answer any questions / comments you have and you can stop at your leisure to take good photos. The visit by train is in French although you can take an audio guide in other languages for 2 euros. Of course, in the end they will end up advertising their products. Important: bring sun protection and anti-mosquitoes if you go in summer or early autumn.

A fun visit with the little train with an explanation of the journey through the canals as well as the work of preparing the tables.
The finished visit starts with a climb on the salt dune with a magnificent view of the ponds as well as the ramparts of Aigues Mortes to be done at least once.

One of the most beautiful surprises of the trip to the Camargue. We were skeptical about the train that the salt pans had to show us but in fact in August it is the ideal vehicle given the vastness and the scorching sun. Unique landscapes with unrepeatable colors. ATTENTION however that at other times of the year you might miss the pink waters that characterize this visit so much.
ATTENTION also to the availability of places. We waited over an hour waiting for our turn. The management of the reservations is certainly revisable.

The visit takes place in the middle of the Camargue ... in the middle of the salt flats.
A breathtaking view of the salt camels (immense salt hill) and the foothills of Aigues Morte ...
A one-and-a-half-hour ride on the little train (reservation strongly recommended), punctuated by a visit to the salt museum, which traces the history and work of salt workers, guardian of unspoiled, wild and generous nature. The museum also shows the evolution of communication through the ages.
Finally, the salt shop, which ends this wonderful visit, you will of course find the entire range of Camargue salts and regional products, as well as original gift ideas ... and more surprisingly, a range of beauty treatments. .

Parking accessible to all. A playground is available on site and free of charge. Expect the tickets for the next day because the same day impossible to have. The tour is good with a bit of history and a museum. The price is expensive for the toure drive. Pay attention to the first stop you have a shop and at the end too. I did not understand the interest .... To do once to see an industry working nature ...
Good visit

Very interesting tour in the little train, with a very nice and pleasant guide, with humor. We had a great time.
A smile from the cashiers both at the salt museum and at the shop would have been appreciated

Nice ride on a personal bike. Beautiful views and discovery on the 13kms of the route in 2 hours minimum. Exorbitant price however 20 / person ... pedestrians 8 ? Where does the important difference come from? Think of the families .... So suddenly buy nothing at the store when leaving. Space for picnics at the entrance.

Friendly historic site to visit by small train. Be careful to book or take it in advance or you will have to wait a long time. Force with the purchase with a shop in the middle of the visit and that of the exit of course. Fairly reasonable prices

Visit of the dead salt marshes in a little train, with a very pleasant guide with a strong accent who gives explanations throughout the ride. Little bonus: being able to climb on a salt camel, very appreciated by children and which gives a magnificent view of all the salines with its pink / red lakes.
Very pleasant educational family walk.

Super bike ride, commented by Eva, is really worth it: flamingos and other birds, pink water, salt bowls and passage to the Salt Museum, we see everything. 3h at a leisurely pace despite a little wind, with lots of explanatory breaks, 15km in total.

Cultural walk that is worth the detour. The little train allows you to enjoy the landscapes. On the other hand, an average non-chalance reception from the hostess not very pleasant. Cleanliness of toilets leaves something to be desired ...

Breathtaking landscapes to the point that some places look like a desert. The red color of the water was simply beautiful and formed a superb contrast with the sky and the white of the camels. Our guide, George, was really friendly and commented with pleasure the ballad bringing a touch of it. We went out having learned some very interesting things. I strongly advise

I advise you to book your ride on the little train. Holidays oblige.
Other than that you will be very satisfied. You will learn, adults and children alike, a lot from a driver who knows his subject perfectly.
10 minutes to visit the Salt Museum is a bit short.
The store is beautiful and you will find prices for all budgets. Don't leave without a little salt. This visit was not lacking in interest and "salt".
Thank you. We are sure to come back.

1 hour drive, 25 minutes in line to be resisted like clean evil by a rather unpleasant staff (no empathy, prefers to laugh with their colleague while we talk to them)

Nothing on the site that mentions mandatory reservations and you are made to wait for nothing, no indication that the site is full and only take reservations for in 2 days

The only star is for the site which looks very beautiful, at least from a distance

An extra visit to do solo, with family or friends, good explanations, and great photos to make the ramparts of Aigues-Mortes with saline in the foreground, top. The break at the small museum in the cabin of gardians is really instructive too, in short a step in the visit of Aigues-Mortes

A superb visit, a passionate guide, who answers all questions. Visit in small nice train, which allows in addition to see the salt camels of many flamingos. The rise of a camel can make beautiful pictures. The pink waters are beautiful.

We don't give a damn about the mouth of people in wheelchairs. The website says that it is accessible, the phone contains a pre-recorded message and when we arrive, we are told to book with a number that is not listed anywhere. Waste of time for us and money for them.

Visit carried out with the little train. Interesting place to see. Too bad the driver's explanations are limited. In the little train, spacing between the different families would be appreciated, in view of the Covid.

No respect for barrier gestures, just wearing a mask, no safe distance, people are crowded into the train and the receptionist is also lying to you, telling you that the train is being disinfected, but this is not true. We were reimbursed but the Salins du Midi ruined a morning vacation. I strongly advise against.

A very large site with interesting things to see, you learn a lot. On the other hand, big drawback for the visit in the little tourist train, you are forced to be four per seat, which is very fair if you are tall, especially you are forced to sit next to people you do not know in this regard. period of covid, while in the other trains we do not mix families.
Otherwise, touristically speaking, it's very interesting and the shop offers nice products

Only possibilities on foot or by personal bike. We chose the bike: 20 per person for a 12 km circuit where we actually go around a pond without any explanation! It is really a scam !!! strongly discouraged!

Home ticketing very unpleasant, two employees speak in detail of their evening, we wait ... they end up telling us that to buy tickets is not to the shop and you have to go around ... once the tour is done , this same employee tells us that the train is complete!

We are very far from a craftsman who loves his craft passion, and who likes to share them. there the only thing they like is money and profit. Uninteresting train ride piled up like animals in trains without any distance (glued to the neighbor next door, and 30 cm to the one opposite). They clearly prefer money to the health and well-being of their clients. TO FLEE.

Website "down" for supposedly a week, in the middle of August and tourist season, unable to book on the net and no operator authorized to book for less than 20 people to compensate for the failing site (?!). No secondary site set up to book activities: you therefore make the trip with young children to see the door closing in your face "all trains are full". The other activities are reserved for older children (because mountain biking or too long, more than 3 hours). No responsiveness of the management, and no visit possible alone on foot, not even at the Salin de Giraud ..... fortunately a smiling cashier, wiping the disappointments of all these families ... and at 5.30 pm: any other paying visit in the corner impossible due to closing at the end of the day.

Little evening train booked 3 days later, at 7 p.m., for a sunset light and beautiful photographs: no one had specified that the shop would not even be open when we returned (it must be very difficult to find seasonal workers to offer this service also for evening visits during the summer season!). In short: the management does not decide to be pleasant when opening their site.

Pleasant end-of-day light, harvest season well underway so not many salt tables filled .... and little stopping to facilitate photos.

Magnificent landscapes but flee this little train from hell, a safety distance not respected in times of Covid, driver of the unpleasant little train, it is a shame because there is something to delight the eyes. The ride by bike or on foot is completely to be privileged!
