Went once and was happy with their "kikil curry". Good portion and great taste for the price. They have everything ready the second they open their door. However, place wasn't easy enough to locate.

Amazing reasonable restaurant with some several non-vegetarian and vegetarian options.

I have always preferred the BEEF RENDANG with RICE over others, probably cause that's the only beef dish they have. Moreover, the ambience is great and customer service is exceptional everytime I have made a visit over there.

Well, this Padang (West Sumatra) restaurant is addictive. This place serve good quality of Indonesia foods, having authenthic taste and big portion (for those who seek this). Don't worry about the price, it is budget friendly. Have a chance to visit and let me hear your comments

Took an uber to reach this place from my hotel. An authentic Padang Restaurant offering the same food as in Indonesia. Love the rendang as it is so tender and delicious. Don't forget to take some sambal and some veggies. Too bad they did not offer hot team as they do in Jakarta and any other country. Reasonable price and fast and attentive service are something you can expect along with original taste!

The hidden gem located in a small street corner, which is a bit of sweat to find. But you won't regret finding that gem as its food taste is truly oriental and can take you back to the time when you were in Indonesia. The price won't tick off student's budget and the staffs are friendly too.
In short, it's a top rated genuine Padangnese food restaurant based in Melbourne with affordable price range.

Salero Kito is one of the few Indonesian restaurants in Melbourne CBD.
This place brings the auntheticity of Padang food from Indonesia to Australia.
It's humbly looking restaurant located pretty hidden inside the Tivoli Arcade, the place is very spacious and they do have outdoor and indoor option.
We'd say it's the best among other similar Indonesian restaurants.
The customer service was nice and friendly.

We order:
- 1 rice + 3 choice of dishes (Beef Rendang, Spicy Eggplant and Cassava Leafs Stew) for $12.00.
- 1 rice + 2 choice of dishes (Beef Rendang and Tendon Curry) for $11.00.

* The beef rendang wasn't the best we've ever tried. The taste was alright, but the beef was slightly tough.
* We loved the tendon curry, it was perfectly cooked and had rich taste.
The tendon was very tender, soft and smooth.
* Cassave Leafs were really good, it had rich taste and flavourful.
* The spicy eggplant wasn't our liking as it was very bland and tasteless. It was very oily as well.

One thing we noticed that portion wasn't very consistent, it totally depends on who's working on that day.
Some time you could get generous portion and another time you will only get small portion of rice and dishes.

Overall, we still had great time having lunch in this Indonesian restaurant.

Yay: Authentic padang food, consistent taste

Yes, it is budget friendly. Yes, its Indonesian food served in bain marie. But it also where you can get authentic dry beef rendang, that is, not a wet beef curry that are served elsewhere posing as a rendang! The fish curry and eggplant are also standout dishes. The fried beef pieces is a little too dry and overcooked for me.

Good place to eat if you're really hungry. Ask for extra rice with no extra charge. Last time they introduced sweet soy beef but I guess it's not popular so it's no longer in the menu.
I like it but the problem is, 50% of the beef was fat. So kinda turned off with that. I suggest to have 1 new dish every week for variety.

Everytime I travel to Melbourne, this is a must to go spot to satisfy my Indonesian food craving. I wish they could put more 'sambal' in my plate, other than that, the food is authentic and delicious!

Our favourite Indonesian restaurant in Melbourne (taste better than home ) We visit here plenty of times in a week for both dine in or take away. Lots of things to choose from the bain-marie with generous serving. We love their crispy beef, silverbeet, lamb brain, beef tendon (kikil), fried fish and bakwan! Their Sate Padang is yummy too ~ good enough to satisfy a craving
