First time visiting and picking up pizza at this location. Pretty far from where we live but thought we'd give it a try. We ordered the Garbage pizza, thin crust. It has all the ingredients I love. We liked it. Do we go back and order from them again? Maybe if we're around the area. From where we live, we've 2 Rosati's to order from. Sal's pizza is comparable to Rosati's. I can order from either Rosati's instead of driving farther to Sal's. Lots of people like Sal's. Can't argue with them. Pizza is good. Keep doing what you're doing, Sal's crew! You've good pizza!
Good pizza asked for well done and was cooked perfect.
Great pizza, if you like a lot of cheese here ya go.
I'm from Chicago moved here Saturday had this pizza last night was the best pizza I've ever had the best. I'll be sure to try the rest of the menu
If you think pizza is a great food, this is the spot for you
Ended up with a touch of food poisoning so not a place I will go back to again.
Hands down one of my favorite pizza places in the area. Note that they do not having a dining room - so take out only. But their pizza is delicious! I am a big fan of their thin crust spinach and cheese pizza. The pizza is consistent, HOT (temp wise) and they use plenty of cheese! They also offer coupons on the menus that come with the pizza so be sure to take a look.
Just moved out here, found my new favorite pizza, been here probably 7 times now lol i get everyone their own taste and for me i love it.
You should be ashamed to be serving the community. I couldn't have predicted that there'd be a restaurant with NOT A SINGLE EMPLOYEE WEARING A MASK in this time of COVID-19. I'm not even talking about improper mask wearing. 10 out of 10 employees, working in the kitchen had not a bit of PPE. Besides plexiglass at the register (which I guess keeps the virus contained to the kitchen and OUR FOOD) there wasn't a bit of thought to customer safety. Sadly if I'd ordered delivery, I'd never have known. Good thing my first (and now only cancelled order) was pick-up so I could have seen the horror myself. The pizza may be great, the reputation may be strong, but it's not worth getting sick over.
Loved it. New to the area and have tried many different places. So far this is the best. Pizza was cooked perfectly and tons of flavor. Wings were awesome also
We catered from Sal's for our baby shower. The delivery showed up right on time and the driver did all of the setting up. Food arrived hot and stayed hot for hours. Before he left he made sure to explain the set up. The food was amazing and everyone loved it. First time ordering from Sal's and definitely not the last!! Thank you for your great service and delicious food.
Their pizza is absolutely delicious! It s like one of those whole in the wall pizza places that has that extra cheesy, super meaty and non-commercialized delicious pizza taste!! I love it!!
Wouldn't take a delivery order at 11:39 posted close timed 12:00 am. Used to be my go to. Not anymore!
We repeatly get pizza from here. Sal uses the real ingridients. We buy a large pizza with cheese and sausage. The bomb keep up the good work Sal
It's one of those hole in the wall places your iffy to try but man am I so glad that I have will never order thin crust pizza from anywhere but Sal's. The flavor and freshness of the ingredients cooked to perfection in a pizza pie! Highly recommend Sal's
Dissapointing. Ingredients are not fresh. I ordered a pizza with mushrooms and tomatoes, both of which obviously came out of a can - as far from fresh as vegetables can get. Sauce was a bit lacking in flavor as well. Quantity of toppings was good but does not make up for sub-par pizza. Best of luck to Sals Pizza Company. Let me know when you serve quality fresh ingredients and I will give you another try.
OMG..The greatest thin crust pizza this side of the Mississippi.
Pizza is great here, they tend to the well done side of cooking the pizzas so keep that in mind when ordering or once you receive yours. The pastas and sides are good but the star of the show is the pizza. Delivery is pretty quick and the staff seem like good kids, owners are good people and always want you to have a great experience.
My family has been ordering from Sal's Pizza for many years. The pizza is always EXCELLENT and of the highest quality. One day I had a taste for something a little different and I dared to try tried the ribs. I love ribs, I admit it. I was a little nervous about it as pizza places typically aren't always the best place to get a nice slab of ribs. Well, to my complete delight, the first time I ordered them they were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! They were tender and moist and the homemade rib sauce is a culinary work of art. They serve it up in a foil pan hot from the oven with BBQ sauce slathered all over the ribs and beautifully caramelized around the edges. You know, the really dark gooey stuff that is perfect to mop up with piping hot french fries. I order the ribs now more than I do the pizza. I've ordered them at all different times, even when they are slammed busy, and I must say they are CONSISTENTLY FABULOUS!!! They are also very nice people to do business with. They are polite, friendly and accurate with orders. My sincere compliments to Sal the owner, Patrick, the manager, and the whole crew.
Delicious food all around. I highly recommend stopping by if you haven t yet and try out their pizza.
Sal's has the best pizza in town. Give them a try you won't be disappointed.
Mmm mmm mmmmmmm. This is the best pizza place around. Since moving here 5 1/2 years ago, we had to of tried all of the pizza places around here. Not being big on "chains" we were looking for that local place. Had driven by many many times, and never thought to give the place behind the 7-11 a try. HUGE mistake! They have their stuff down to a science. With it only being carry out and delivery, you can expect your pie hot and fresh every time. Best part about the pizza, it reminds me like the pizza place I use to get when I was a child. . . Only better!
I love sal pizza I asked them to open a location in the city by grand and central. Always always consistent , great food.
The driver brought us 2 pizzas that were meant for someone else. I understand that mistakes happen and we would've been fine waiting another hour for the correct pizzas. The discussion was getting uncomfortable and the driver kept insisting that we accept the wrong pizza. It's really unfortunate that Sal's couldn't do the right thing and just send the correct pizzas.
Really liked the stuffed pizza...our first time picking up food there and it didn't disappoint at all
This is the only place I can have pizza from. The absolute BEST I ve ever had Once you try their pizza, you ll be ruined for all other pizza places
Love Sals pizza and the beefs! Always a good meal and a hit at parties. Only complaint is what the bacon on the pizza has become. It used to be good size cuts/chunks. Now it s just some tiny sprinkles... definitely should switch back for that bit of difference
Thin crust cheese pizza "pie cut"!!! Just like my Poppa's restaurant used to make from the 1950's to the 80s. Absolutely perfect. Thank you so much to ALL the great crew who worked tirelessly through this blizzard of wind, rain and snow so my family and I could enjoy a delicious Sal's Pizza.
Sal's pizza represents the best Chicagoland has to offer with a sense of care, quality, and custom ingredients not found in the "big chain" options. Easily my family and friends' favorite local thin-crust pizza.
I grew up in this area, and I make it a point to stop and pick up a sal's pizza anytime I'm in the area. I love their pizza, but I have to admit the prices are a little steep for a thin crust takeout pizza, which is the only reason i did not give 5 stars, but worth it if you feel like splurging.
Toppings are right amount. Not over abundant not under abundant . All are fresh with the exception of canned mushrooms and tomatoes. And like everyone else that makes pizza in Algonquin you just have to tell them how thick you want your cardboard crust. None of us were able to eat the crust. Ended up picking the toppings off. Hard as a rock very disappointing.
So I have been ordering from Sal's fro a while. For the most part they were great. You get a 18 in pizza and you can barely carry the thing. Not the case tonight. I ordered and 18 in sausage and mushroom pizza. As soon as I picked it up I knew it was not normal. About half the cheese and ingredients in weight that you would expect from Sal's. When I questioned the staff manager he said, "well that's our typical 18 in pizza. " Well Sal's if I wanted a pizza like I got tonight I could have gone to a chain pizza place. $30.00 dollars spent on a $15.00 pizza. All you need to do is piss off a customer once to loose them and Sal's just did that. Side note, not that the pizza tasted bad in anyway just wasn't worth that $30.00 price tag. As for the staff that night, no attempt what so ever to make it right. Attitude was, oh well.
When they are busy it's terrible When they are slow it's good. Stay away during busy times.
The best out in crystal lake . I stopped getting pizza except in chicago. But I can get some in crystal lake now
This is by far the best pizza in the area. We get it well done and it is delicious every time! Yummy!!
The pizza is great but fries are way to salty! Couldn t even eat them! They did replace them within 10 mins. Ask for no salt and add you own
Sal's is awesome! The pizza is absolutely delicious! My daughter lives in Lake In The Hills and we ordered from Sals all the time. You cannot go wrong with Sal's pizza.
I don't get how this place gets such high reviews... the crust is like cardboard and there is absolutely nothing special about this pizza... my sister will get it because it is so close to her house but she has to order the "extra thin" crust to like it (makes it tolerable for me). So... I'm giving their extra thin, "2 stars"... otherwise it's a 1.
The Best Pizza in the Northwest Suburbs, hands down!!. I am orginally from the south side and most pizza places are decent, if not great down there. This is not the case when it comes to the northwest suburbs. But then I found Sal's. I can not say enough about the perfection this place bring to making pizza.
Best pizza anywhere around. They don't go cheap on the toppings. Always perfectly cooked and best priced! Medium thin crust feeds three adults no problem. Trust me, try it.
I ordered the garbage pizza (has everything on it) about a month ago. I like it so much I have had it twice since. My kids like the peporoni pizza. The crust is thin and crispy and the sauce has a good flavor. When we are not in the mood for Lou Malnatis deep dish we will eat Sals!
We ordered a small deep dish pizza with onions. When we ate the pizza, the tomato sauce tasted like it came out of a can. Not much cheese on top, and a lot of dough. Very disappointed, as we paid around $23.00 for a pizza that I would rate a "zero!" Don't waste your time with Sal's. Even Pizza Hut tastes better than Sal's, so what does that tell you?
Great pizza. They are very generous with toppings. Very tasty sausage.
Great Pizza but just a little bit salty at times. Very good place to eat.
This used to be a decent place for pizza until they decided to go totally maskless during the COVID pandemic . None of the cooks, cashiers or anyone had masks and were within inches of food and others .One sneeze and the pizza may as well be called Covid contagion. There are so many other pizza places that follow guidelines rush there is no reason to visit one that doesn t care about your health.
One of the better local pizzerias in the area. They put a lot of cheese and meat on their pizzas. There crust is a little thicker also.
Good pizza, good service, affordable price. True year in, year out.
I grew up with a joint just like this, it was my family's favorite pizza place for 30+ years, I ended up getting my first job there which lasted for 5 years. We were known for having not only great pizza but having great pizza consistently. We had so many customers who we knew so well that all we needed was their name to know what they wanted. I do have a point.... Sals won my stomach from the get go but they won my heart one night a while back when my son called to place our usual order but he forgot one thing; not 2 minutes later his phone rings and it's Sal's, asking if we wanted easy sauce like usual....yes....yes we do. Moving away from something you love is hard, Sals Pizza is like having a piece of home. Hands down the best pizza in town.
I can understand how this place gets such high reviews! The crust especially is fantastic! Everything about the pizza is special when compared to other companies. I always get it because how close it is and it doesn't even matter the different types of pizza because they are all awesome and tolerable! I'm giving the pizza a 5 star and it wouldn't be anything else! Superb.
I had a friend who is a BIG connoisseur of fine fast food recommend this place. Bottom line, Sal focuses on quality ingredients. Period. High quality Chicago style pizza from a true italian. As a single dude in my 30's, you can't get a better pizza in the area. Hands down.
Pizza here is awesome and the ribs are bomb! Highly recommend!!!!
I ve lived in the area for about two years and hadn't found anyplace that had decent ribs. Since I m stuck in the house, I thought I d start reading reviews and read nothing but good things about Sal s, soooo I thought I d give them a try! Mmmmmmm I m so glad I did. Ordered enough for the family, along with a few appetizers and sides. The ribs were EXCELLENT and more than enough to go around, with plenty of delicious barbecue sauce. The fried zucchini and mushrooms were great as well! After licking the sauce off of her fingers, my daughter exclaimed these are delicious, I think we just found our place for ribs - we ll have to try the pizza next time and I have to agree!!
This site is my favorite site. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this place. when I feel like having a special lunch, this is the place that comes straight to my head. superb and all sorts of food and a large menu.helpful staff, and great atmosphere. And very important, the bill is modest. I tell about this spot with pleasure.
Literally the best Pizza in the area - a little pricey, but you get what you pay for - QUALITY.
It is simply the best pizza around. I love pizza and I have to tell you I can't find a better pie anywhere. Sal's Pizza is awesome!
The family says the pizza is really good. It is a small place, take out cause there isn't really anywhere to sit down and eat.
Awesome food taste great, a bit pricey as I can't order as much as I'd like but worth what you do pay
One of the best local pizza restaurants! It takes about an hour for delivery, but it's definitely worth the wait!
We have lived in the area for over 8 years and have always seen this place but never went before. Tonight I was looking up a new pizza place and it came up across multiple apps with amazing reviews. Now I know why lol. The food is incredible! The best pizza I ve had outside of the loop! Pricey for sure - this is not a chain - this is authentic pie that is absolutely fantastic! Highly recommended! We can t get the missed years back but we can start going now :-)!
Best pizza in the area! Now that Old Work is gone this is the closest thing to do it. You won't be sorry if you order from Sals
Sal's is the best! It's the only pizza we order any more. Plus their cheese garlic bread is awesome, too!
Pizza was inhaled by my grandchildren. They left the corners for the dog. Yum
Sal's Pizza does an amazing job. Think high quality Rosatis. My go-to at Sal's is double cheese, double beef (italian), extra sauce. It's greasy and heavy. All my major life events in this area are based around Sal's. Moving, kitchen remodel, birthdays; Sal's is the go-to. Come hungry. xD
Very good pizza, just cannot get pass the fact that the people working on the kitchen do not wear face masks.
Great pizza take out place. People are friendly and they are always taking orders.
