Frustrated with my ER visit. Treatment is dictated by protocol. Consultation with the patient is misleading. Dr. ordered a test that was not discussed whatsoever with me. Personnel who attempted to fill the order explicitly lied when asked what the unexpected test was for. When I spoke with the authority in charge about this unethical series of events, I was told he "wasn't concerned" as he abruptly ended discussion by pivoting and leaving the treatment room, as I begged for help. Yet, the entire time I was treated as if *I* was the one who was untrustworthy and motivated by ulterior motive.

I was actually shocked at the same day surgery there its one hallway and everyone is asking info in the hall while my sister and I were waiting to get out talk about NO PRIVACY I just finished nursing school and I personally would of mentioned it if it was me on that stretcher giving my info in front of everyone I didn't even know. Also the curtains between beds could you at l east take the time to hang them up completely and oh yeah you can just stick your clothes on one of those shelves could they aileast have a door on them and the timing they were supposed to have my mother in surgery and it was an hour and a half later after were all stressed out someone comes out and says oh by the way we are just taking her in now REALLY!!! I think families are stressed enough for the time loved ones are in there let a lone adding to it NOT IMPRESSED!!!!
Vincent's maternity floor was amazing. They did great with my two nieces who were born there and her parents while they stayed. Kathy Daniel's was so patient and explained everything clearly and with care. Shonna came to care for the room and she had the best personality. Very friendly! Both ladies are an asset there and were wondered!
I have always loved St Vincent. This time around I have never been so unhappy! My daughter was treated very poorly after having a c-section. She buzzed for a nurse in the night and no one came to help her. The fallowing morning the next nurse on duty was mean and bossy and made my daughter cry. All I can say is I wouldn't recommend anyone to have there baby here after the way they treated my daughter! Very unprofessional and rude and I hope these people are held accountable for their actions.
I went to Hamot for 3 out patient procedures it's because I did not have a choice because the surgeon and my pain doctor used hamot's out patient as part of their practice. The rudeness of staff and lack of doctor's knowledge I had a very bad experience. I almost died when my pain doctor didn't check my meds and gave me an sedative which gave me life threatening reaction because the seductive reaction was due to my medication I was on . How on earth a doctor skips the medication list before the procedure? On top of that the nurses were humming and laughing while trying to find a vein in me to start an IV bag . They paged the attending anesthesiologist who was right there on the nurse's desk but he walked away instead of helping and never responded to his pager to help the nurses or me his name was Dr Steven Raj . Thankfully somehow the Iv bag was half in and half dripping all over me . As soon as the reaction symptoms resided I singed off and came home because I didn't get the right and responsible treatment. I Truly Hate Hamot it's nothing about patient care it's all about corporate and bringing money in . Saint Vincent Rocks and now I am transferring all my doctors to Saint Vincent affiliate so I know I would never have to go to Hamot .
Where do I begin this nightmare? My spouse, a disabled combat Veteran, was sent here from the Erie VA MC. BEFORE leaving Erie VA MC our representative from the VA contacted the behavioral health supervisor to secure a spot for him & his service dog. Mind you myself is having the worst day of my life due to the circumstances that got us here. The supervisor gave us the okay for his service dog to accompany him at St. Vincent Hospital and even sent over a copy of their policy. Upon being sent up to the behavior health sector a floor nurse asked to speak with me. She repeatedly said "he cannot have his dog here, we don't do that, you have been misinformed." No matter me bringing up the policy or even the fact it is a federal law. Or even asking her what would they do with an individual with a seeing eye dog? She seemed rather confused. However, I gave her two options, to transfer us back to the Erie VA or give me someone else to speak to about this matter. The behavior health Director, Rodney quickly came up. He expressed his concerns regarding the service dog, and how "they have never done this before." After going through the policy he had found that nothing distinguishes that he cannot have his service animal. Rodney quickly began creating a plan to allow both my wounded warrior spouse and his service animal. Rodney is one of a kind! All I ask of is for staff to have a normal idea that some people need extra assistance during daily life, understand their own policy. And my gosh the families here are on this emotional roller coaster too! Fighting for the rights of their loved ones should be the last thing on their mind.
Worst emergency service ever. My 1 n 3 month old baby girl had to wait 3 hrs. I wouldn't recommend anyone taking their kids there seeing that we were there before other people and they were seen before us
The St Vincent's surgical center I had a septoplasty done many years ago. All I remember when I was coming out of anesthesia is being offered a slushie and my friend and a nurse walking me to my friends vehicle. I was still so heavily sedated I couldn't walk without the help of two people. On top of that the surgery was not successful. My septum is still deviated. Makes me wonder if people that were operating on me where out to lunch discussing the local weather. Far as ear nose and throat doctors in the local Erie area? I'd rather go out of state than feel like I'm not being listened to .Nothing being resolved. As far as ER staff. Yes. ER is a heck of a wait and can be frustrating. I also understand not a first come first serve basis. The ER staff I feel do the best they can there. I never had a problem with staff there personally. They have always been professional and keep their cool under at times extremely stressful situations.
they were extremely disrespectful.. i was in so much pain and of course when someone is in pain they don't really want to be asked a million question and this lady said (ive dealt with you before you need to learn some damn manners) i kid you not i will not be returning there.. i used to speak very highly about st vincent but this was by far the worst experience I've ever had with a hospital
I recently (January 19, 2018) had a same-day surgery at St. Vincent Hospital of AHN. I went on the previous Monday for Pre-Op Testing. The personnel in the Registration and Testing areas were helpful, polite/professional & explained themselves every step of the way. There was no waiting upon my arrival. The Registration process was quick and the young lady was friendly. The area for the Testing is right off to the side from the Registration area which was very nice. The nurses & the phlebotomist from the Testing area were polite & displayed confidence in doing their job(s). The Testing process was just as easy and quick. I had each test done one right after another, so there was no (being left in an exam room) waiting between tests. They continuously asked me if I had any questions and/or concerns. Also, from arrival to departure (for the Pre-Op Testing) took roughly less than an hour. It moved along very smoothly during the Pre-Op Testing. On January 19, 2018, I had a same-day surgery. The time from arrival/Registration to discharge was very quick. The Pre-Op process was quick & painless (even when placing an IV in before surgery). Everyone was polite, professional and concerned for my safety and well-being. The anesthesia doctor was confident and explained everything. The surgeon (Dr. P. Recio, DO) was compassionate & easy to talk to as well. The anesthesia/OR nurses were caring and professional. The Recovery area was quick and professional as well. The nurse was focused on me alone & kept me comfortable. She was exceptional as well. The Short-Stay area (2nd Floor) was just as good. The nurse kept my safety and health in mind the whole time. Overall, it was a very good hospital experience considering being in a hospital can be very stressful. Everyone was great. All aspects of good health care was very noticeable. Last, but not least, the volunteers and hospital staff were pleasant and helpful too. I would recommend this hospital. I applaud everyone and their efforts to give me exceptional care while in the hospital. Thank you!
